Roger Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Brighton fans cross that Brighton are seemingly selling him to us. Can play midfield or off forward like on either wing.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Anyone have insight on this fella? Never heard of him so I won't make a judgement.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Sports writer contributing mainly to The Independent... Nick Szczepanik @NickSzczepanik 15m #bhafc fans will be demanding answers if, as several sources suggest today, @Solly_March is next to leave, with #saintsfc the destination.
S-Clarke Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 He's a winger primarily, lots of pace, lots of skill and tricks. Saw him once as I have a friend who is a BHA fan, he's a moron too;) But a very talented player, bums on the edge of seats kind of player. Will be a very promising English addition. Better option and more potential than Redmond I feel. Don't expect him to be a regular this year, but he's got all the attributes to be a damn fine England player.

saint_ed Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 As discussed on the Transfer Rumours thread, he would be an excellent signing. Alex Goring Crook @alex_crook · 14m Looks like another Koeman curve-ball. Decent #bhafc sources saying Solly March is on his way to #saintsfc
hypochondriac Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Would be an excellent signing and sfc would deserve praise if it comes off.
BARCELONASAINT Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 The latest player to be spotlighted is Brighton starletSolly March. [h=4]The scout reports...[/h]We check on a player attracting a lot of attention in the Championship, Solly March has recently broken into the first-team picture at Brighton - and is impressing a lot of on-lookers. March began at his local club Lewes, and quickly progressed through youth ranks before making his first-team debut by the time he was 17. But he was quickly attracting attention from a host of Premier League and Championship clubs. Arsenal, Newcastle, Sunderland and West Ham were all keen on taking March, but it was his Brighton who won the day - the club his father Steve played for as an apprentice. March penned a three-year deal with Brighton in late 2011. It took March just over 12 months to really find his feet at the AMEX, as he was then pushing for a place in the first team. Early in 2013, March was included in a number of squads and made the bench for Brighton - but did not feature. The following season saw him heavily involved pre-season and it has been little surprise that Oscar Garcia has recognised his talent and has brought him into his first-team squad. And perhaps the teenager is fortunate to be working under such a progressive coach as Spaniard Garcia - given that March's game is certainly leading from the technical aspect. Standing at over 6ft, March is a truly elegant performer - often played on the wing, but looks perfectly suited to a number '10' role, pulling the strings behind the front-man. Comfortable on the ball, and with both feet - March has the skill set that you can't really teach but is natural. However, he has shown playing out wide that he is willing to fit into a system. He has an eye for a pass too and learning when to play it is clearly something Garcia is working on, but he is clearly quickly emerging as a fine young player. [h=4]The scout says...[/h]Clearly has a wonderful future ahead of him and he appears to be in the perfect place at the moment. However, with talent like this it is hard to hide from the Premier League scouts and Brighton will have to work hard to keep hold of this prospect. [h=4]The Scout rating...[/h]Shooting: 7 out of 10 Passing: 8 out of 10 Tackling: 6 out of 10 Heading: 6 out of 10 Pace: 7 out of 10 Vision: 8 out of 10 Current ability: 7 out of 10 Potential ability: 10 out of 10 OVERALL SCOUT RATING: 59/80 Current value: £4million Potential value: £18million
St.Patrik Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 So this is where the Cork money will end up then?
stevy777_x Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Quality young player but Will wait to hear the fee to see if we have been raped again.

Patrick Bateman Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Players signing long-term contracts is the new way for clubs to sell players it seems; "On 14 April 2014, March signed a new four-year deal with the Seagulls.[9]"
Killers Knee Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Thats the sugar i needed to sweeten the Shane Long pill. Would be happy to see him sign.
sadoldgit Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Unlikely that Ronald would have know about this lad so assume he was on the list of the much derrided scouting set up.
SuperSAINT Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 We needs one of our official "ITK's" to comment on this one.

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Seeing the Brighton fans reactions to this is at least making me smile
Fowllyd Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 he looks like that c*nt from 1 direction Can you narrow that down a bit?
Wrensup Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 he looks like that c*nt from 1 direction Which one?
sadoldgit Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 he looks like that c*nt from 1 direction Lets hope he has the X Factor!
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 why has he not been playing this season ? They heard Les Reed had £100m to spend and didn't want to miss out.
Saint Charlie Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Brighton Argus reporter Andy Naylor: For those asking re: rampant Solly March speculation. Saints' Les Reed is aware of his potential. So too are Everton. That's it. #bhafc March (back) is concentrating on getting himself fit to play for #bhafc.
GarrettIvo Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Seeing the Brighton fans reactions to this is at least making me smile Made me feel a lot better about some of the rubbish on here. Not all. But some.
buctootim Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 why has he not been playing this season ? He played in the Saints pre-season game and went off after about 60 mins. Maybe he got a knock.
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Seeing the Brighton fans reactions to this is at least making me smile I feel quite sorry for them. It looks like the same is happening to them as happened to us. Must be very disappointing for their fans.
Appy Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Brighton stole a march on us in the title race in 2010, now it's our turn.
ollysaints1 Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Has any one credible actually said this is happening? It all just seems unlikely rumours at the moment.
scotty Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Brighton stole a march on us in the title race in 2010, now it's our turn. Very good A bit crowbarred, but very good.
StratfordSaint Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Probably been mentioned here somewhere but... Didn't know anything about him, so looked on wikipedia and "Solomon Benjamin "Solly" March (born 20 July 1994) is an English professional football midfielder who plays for Premier League club Southampton FC." Fancy that hey!
sadoldgit Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Has any one credible actually said this is happening? It all just seems unlikely rumours at the moment. Ah, but you should know by now that rumour=fact here! Trust me, believe nothing until someones arrival or departure is officially announced.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 The Echo are saying that reports linking Saints and March are "wide of the mark".
Gemmel Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Would be a really good signing- Really exciting player
Gemmel Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Wanting us to sign footballers that don't look like c*nts is really going to limit our ability in the transfer market.
SNSUN Posted 14 August, 2014 Posted 14 August, 2014 Solly March! Cracking name. Sounds like something a Chinese man would say to Homer Simpson's wife after insulting her.
SuperSAINT Posted 15 August, 2014 Posted 15 August, 2014 The Echo are saying that reports linking Saints and March are "wide of the mark". I saw that yesterday - No idea why they've posted this today then... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11411926._/?ref=mac

So our interest is still wide of the mark.

Golden Balls Posted 30 November, 2015 Posted 30 November, 2015 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-plan-75m-transfer-raid-6930509? Neighbours? It takes me about the same amount of time to get to Bristol as it does Brighton. Bet that same journalist describes Bournemouth Vs Brighton or Portsmouth Vs Plymouth as a derby, just because they're coastal.
Saint Charlie Posted 30 November, 2015 Posted 30 November, 2015 I've seen him a few times at the Amex for Brighton and he is a promising player who could be an interesting option off the bench but IMO he would be much better off staying at Brighton for now and starting most weeks. Likes cutting in from the right onto his left foot and is quite pacy.
VectisSaint Posted 1 December, 2015 Posted 1 December, 2015 Koeman didn't take him before due to his inexperience. Sounds familiar.
whelk Posted 1 December, 2015 Posted 1 December, 2015 I feel quite sorry for them. It looks like the same is happening to them as happened to us. Must be very disappointing for their fans. Very gracious but feeling sorry for Brighton?
CB Fry Posted 1 December, 2015 Posted 1 December, 2015 (edited) Koeman didn't take him before due to his inexperience. Sounds familiar. Not like the good old days when Pochettino blooded one whole player, is it? And Pochettino was so awfully brave to select young players like Lallana and Morgan, who up to that point had been languishing in the first team having been first choice selections for only the previous four managers of the club. Black Sea Saint Posted 1 December, 2015 Posted 1 December, 2015 Sounds more like a Spurs signing. Young, talented, potential England player.

You really continue to demonstrate your ****ishness. Can't deal with anything thats remotely critical of the current set up, even when the facts are demonstrably true. Just continue to believe everything in the garden is rosy.
