RedAndWhite91 Posted 19 August, 2014 Posted 19 August, 2014 Great pics, thanks. Only went to a handful of games at the Dell. Pre-season friendlies mostly because they were cheaper. I did however have a birthday party at the Dell, which included a tour and I got to play in that indoor 'pitch'. I had forgotten about it until I saw that photo!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 19 August, 2014 Posted 19 August, 2014 Thanks for posting those! Although I can probably count the games I attended at the Dell on my fingers due to my age, I fondly remember having a birthday party at The Dell, which culminated in a match in the old sports hall!
Halo Stickman Posted 19 August, 2014 Posted 19 August, 2014 This was always my boyhood favorite line up Godfrey the goalkeeper was a small chap, only 5’ 9” apparently. I can’t imagine there are many keepers of that height in top-flight football these days
Ed Rooney Posted 19 August, 2014 Posted 19 August, 2014 how bad was the gym!! Great memories training in that gym, so high spec

Norm Posted 19 August, 2014 Author Posted 19 August, 2014 Judging on the away kit 2004/5. Correct, Dec 28th.
Lets B Avenue Posted 19 August, 2014 Posted 19 August, 2014 Remember mid'70s in my Panini sticker book Joe Corrigan was the only goalie over 6 foot. What about West Ham and Wolves keepers at that time. Phil Parkes and Phil Parkes. Not related.
pap Posted 20 August, 2014 Posted 20 August, 2014 Some cracking photos there. I lived on Malmesbury Road for a couple of years in the early 90s. I used to walk through the Dell car park on every walk into town. Sometimes, there would be a youth game in progress; exit gates were normally open from half time onwards, so you could just walk in for nowt. Used to get in for £3 at "Boys" rate. Once it went all seater, only really went to nomark cup games at the Dell and away games elsewhere.
OldNick Posted 20 August, 2014 Posted 20 August, 2014 Just thought some might to see this. 1930's coffee mug, i have never seen another.
