musesaint Posted 4 January, 2015 Share Posted 4 January, 2015 Clyne is a better right back and a better overall player...that's why we kept him and not Chambers. Simples

Simples More about getting £16 million for a second choice player that at most clubs (including Arsenal), was good enough to be first choice. Doubt that he's first choice in any position at Arsenal, used as a stop gap everywhere because they just can't seem to manage their injuries. RB..Debuchy, CB Mertesacker and Koscielny, CM Flamini, Ramsey, Arteta even Wilshere.

eelpie Posted 4 January, 2015 Share Posted 4 January, 2015 Chambers www actually Pochettino's first choice, Clyne spent a lot of the season on the bench ,,, following injury
Ex Lion Tamer Posted 4 January, 2015 Share Posted 4 January, 2015 Clyne 1862 minutes Chambers 1641 minutes Clyne 20 starts Chambers 18 starts Chambers definitely kept Clyne out of the team for plenty of matches. I always preferred Clyne myself
Ex Lion Tamer Posted 4 January, 2015 Share Posted 4 January, 2015 While I appreciate that he was being played woefully out of position against us, I thought he was dreadful. He had some poor games for us last season at RB - Man City in particular - but he does appear to have gone backwards. In fact I thought Chamberlayne and Walcott were equally poor although to be fair Walcott is coming back after a long lay off through injury. Arsenal don't defend as a team and aren't well coached defensively. It's little wonder he is going backwards
david in sweden Posted 5 January, 2015 Share Posted 5 January, 2015 it was a good deal at the time. £16 million for a reserve player. If they were both still at SMS ...when fit - Clyne would get the vote, and Chambers wouldn't be first choice ahead of anyone else.
Saint Charlie Posted 5 January, 2015 Share Posted 5 January, 2015 Would rather have 16m Chambers than 12m Long tbh.
sadoldgit Posted 5 January, 2015 Share Posted 5 January, 2015 Even though they play in completely different positions???
Bucks Saint Posted 5 January, 2015 Share Posted 5 January, 2015 Charlie this would have us even weaker in attacking positions but with a glut of people who can play right back, great
Verbal Kint Posted 5 January, 2015 Share Posted 5 January, 2015 Would rather have 16m Chambers than 12m Long tbh. Would you rather have 16 million Chambers or 6.5 million Alderweireld?
