Rasiak-9- Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Seems like a fairly staple timekiller from many other forums so here goes, I'll get us started... Alpine is not a troll or an intentional attention seeker and genuinely does want the best for the club, he's just insanely pessimistic.
JxgrSaint Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Calling Batman and Pastor Patron, **** opinions needed...
pap Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Alpine is not a troll or an intentional attention seeker and genuinely does want the best for the club, he's just insanely pessimistic. I'll take that, and raise you with an "Alps is nowhere near as tedious as people trying to score cred off Alps". Nothing intended your way.
Saint Charlie Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 There actually HAS been somewhat of a meltdown at Saints this summer... Under Pochettino we didnt have enough shots.
Saint Charlie Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Despite the fact he might actually be a nice guy its a bit of a ****ing joke that in a 'results business' Hooiveld is still an active squad member.
Panda Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 SaintRichmond should post more on other forum and not on here. Corrected it for you
shurlock Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 (edited) Talk of European or CL football was not a quasi-contractually binding promise used to hoodwink players. Aspiration and ambition in competitive sports - who da thunk it. Edited 3 August, 2014 by shurlock
ratio_decidendi Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 I feel like an unpopular opinion at the moment is not just that Southampton will avoid relegation next year, but that they'll also do well at the same time. I'm being very optimistic moving into the new season. It's going to be difficult to surpass eighth, but I very much doubt we'll be fighting it out at the bottom against the likes of Burnley and Leicester.
View From The Top Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 People who believed the UCL chat we not, actually, gullible mongs, but true visionaries.
Strangely Brown Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 I'm optimistic about the new season How very dare you!!
Lets B Avenue Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 I'll take that, and raise you with an "Alps is nowhere near as tedious as people trying to score cred off Alps". Nothing intended your way. Most of Pap's theories on World events are probably true and he genuinely believes them himself.
ericofarabia Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 I'm optimistic about the new season Have you been on The Sanatogen again? We are in the middle of a complete meltdown and you are being optimistic
Goatboy Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 This thread has not been misunderstood by anyone.
ThaiSaint Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Is this thread just for people who have unpopular opinions? From what I can see almost all opinions are unpopular with some others - that's the nature of a forum. So just keep posting and you can appear on this thread soon. Personally, I have lots of unpopular opinions (according to her in-doors)....
Pastor Patrón Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Rodriguez is twice the player Lambert is. Oh no wait everyone agrees now don't they Umm Lallana's a total w#nker, oh no wait......
Olallana Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Unpopular opinion here? To say anything else than that Cork is the bestest CM in the league and that you can't understand that he isn´t first name on the paper for the England lineup....(slightly exaggeration perhaps)
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Messengers who carry bad news generally get shot on here
Plastic Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 St Mary's is a boring 'off the peg' stadium. Portsmouth as a city is far nicer than Southampton. It's the Sunday after the Sunday after Guan told us dominoes would fall, and we've seen nowt.
doddisalegend Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 That NC was not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy)
oldskoolsi Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 What a player/manager/chairman says in an interview is proof of absolutely nothing other than how skilled they are at PR.

(insofar as I agree/have agreed with both but know they're unpopular)
ExSt Peter Saint Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Gazzaniga has the potential to become Saints first choice goalkeeper.
Dalek2003 Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 17th ....very unpopular last season, now very much in vogue this season ! In fact 17th is the new sixth.
dubai_phil Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 It is very clear that we all know that the 5 year plan was the mantra that got us to 8th. Because the Plan called for expanding SMS to 45,000 capacity, the sales this summer were all orchestrated and planned.and we now have the money to start the preparation work so we can start the Construction next summer. We do all know of course that SMS is far too small for us and we (especially Turkish) cannot wait for the new Business Class seating, Airblades & WiFi in the new Upper Levels
Bwanamakubwa Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Reading the same opinion written in multiple posts is fun
Saint86 Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 That this board won't spend anything more than the bare minimum to keep us up, and that we will see hardly any of the £93m being spent. The first team have been asset stripped ready for sale, and we'll be patched up by loans and cheap players as much as possible. Tadic and Pelle were only signed as part of the Koeman agreement.
georgeweahscousin Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Calum Chambers was better than Clyne at right back last season.
Polaroid Saint Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Ambition is the last refuge of the failure.
Saint IQ Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 That NC was not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy)
Saint IQ Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 5 of our best players went to further their short careers and earn more money like any other person in work would do if they had even just a little bit of ambition.
The9 Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Rickie Lambert was a lumbering donkey for the past 18 months of his Saints career. Can't remember who said that one...
The9 Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Calum Chambers was better than Clyne at right back last season. That was one of mine as well...
Wiggles31 Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 The daily mail has a positive agenda with Saints.
ben05 Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Calum Chambers was better than Clyne at right back last season. Agreed with this, he was also better than Shaw last season IMO
The9 Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Agreed with this, he was also better than Shaw last season IMO Let's not go nuts now. Chambers was excellent defensively but didn't offer as much as Clyne going forward. Shaw was good going foward and defensively (when he wasn't upfield) but had a fairly ineffective final ball.

Shaw was good going foward and defensively (when he wasn't upfield) but had a fairly ineffective final ball. Agreed that Shaw was stronger going forward than Chambers. He is faster is 'built' more like a winger compared to Chambers, hence Wenger playing him at CB in the Emirates cup. However, I would say Shaw also had an ineffective final ball. From a quick Google he only had 1 assist last year ... my memory is awful and cant even remember it. I assume Chambers had none. Poor quite poor tbh, especially with the formation we played under poch. I just felt last season that Shaw seemed to be getting 'Done' more than Chambers. Maybe that's due to Shaw being further up the pitch at times.
Turkish Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Les Reed is doing a great job and we will look back on him as a modern day Ted Bates.
Halo Stickman Posted 4 August, 2014 Posted 4 August, 2014 Barry Sanchez’s estate agent mate might have been right about Lallana house hunting in Liverpool. (Seem to recall this opinion being just a tad unpopular at the time)
