View From The Top Posted 1 August, 2014 Share Posted 1 August, 2014 A week on Sunday I embark on the London / Surrey Ride 100 on behalf of my local hospice. The generosity of people has been gob smacking, however, I'm still £40 short of £1000 so it you haven't yet given but feel inclined then the link is here. https://www.justgiving.com/Davidride100/ For those that have, thanks very much. Minty Posted 1 August, 2014 Share Posted 1 August, 2014 How's the training been going? Got a specific time in mind, or are you not worried about time?
View From The Top Posted 1 August, 2014 Author Share Posted 1 August, 2014 How's the training been going? Got a specific time in mind, or are you not worried about time? Training is fine, been averaging 1000km a month through the summer. Final decent ride (120km) tomorrow with a group so the distance isn't an issue but I'd like to do this non-stop. If I can jump into a fast group then sub 5hrs/4.5hrs is certainly the target. The only issues are Leith Hill and that's more to do with narrow lanes and people pushing their bikes or wobbling up the middle, and the need to refill water bottles. The lads I've trained with start either 15mins before me or 15mins after so we've yet to workout of we are waiting for each other as two of them are beasts and I'll happily sit of their wheels all of the way around! View From The Top Posted 7 August, 2014 Author Share Posted 7 August, 2014 Last ride done, a slow 75km with the Mrs so now it's London on Sunday and the forecast is looking grim. Thanks so very much to all those who have donated. You've all been incredibly generous. If you'd like to donate http://www.justgiving.com/Davidride100 or text DCWA66 with the amount £1, £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.
