He made a bold statement then almost instantly contradicted it before firing back in with the initial point. He is right in one thing right though, trusting the new set up will be difficult until they take positive action. His words are meaningless until those actions come to fruition.

We will sell 5 players, including 3 of the back four and then rebuild the team around those that remain, giving the manager maybe a week before the first match, to assimilate the new players into the side, and if that doesn't work out what he hell?, we've got until 1st September. Main thing is to keep your eyes on the puck.

Although he was a little clumsy on some answers, and the Canadian thing doesn't always play well in England, he basically could not have been clearer. They're drawing a line in the sand. The tipping point he was referring to was the acceleration of hysteria that was in danger of drowning the club. They recognized that and are saying enough is enough. You couldn't have hoped for a clearer statement. The other key statement was that every penny of the money received would be reinvested. That's huge. Provided we see evidence of that in next few weeks, there will be a huge swing of opinion now.

Whether it's true remains to be seen, but he couldn't say much more. Pretty clear from what he said that he personally had little input into the sales. Also, whilst saying MS and JR aren't going, he didn't really answer the question about what would happen if they both said they wanted to go.

Rodriguez and Schneiderlin won't be sold (will still be there on Sep 1 if you add what he said on SSN) We are close to adding 3 players All the funds from sales will be reinvested in signings and wages All significant.

I THINK I heard the latter, but can't remember the exact words used.

Meaning, it wasn't his decision but knows who said "I got a quick way to put £90M into the club."

I completely agree re: getting replacements in (and the cost as a result) but that's done now and it didn't hurt Spurs doing their deals post-Bale (the quality of players signed isn't the question, only the method).
