Saint86 Posted 26 February, 2015 Posted 26 February, 2015 Total disaster for us this week. Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool all crashing out of Europe. Good buybtired squads and goodbye Europe for us quite likely. Champions league is Deco unlikely now
LGTL Posted 26 February, 2015 Posted 26 February, 2015 So typical of that arrogant, self centered **** to want to take the last penalty. Shame it backfired...
saintant Posted 26 February, 2015 Posted 26 February, 2015 I don't feel sorry for Liverpool. They proved tonight they have no ambition, so no, I don't have any sympathy for them. They gave up their ambition to be a force in Europe and decided to sign Lovren and let him take a penalty. They have a choice as a club, they don't have to let Lovren take a penalty. Maybe their objectives have changed. That's the way it works. They were after a certain type of player - unfortunately for them that player was Dejan Lovren.
Saint_clark Posted 26 February, 2015 Posted 26 February, 2015 That's why sweetheart. Great commetary for the pen. "Liverpools future in the Europa League rests on the shoulders of..." Camera pans up. "Dejan Lovren".

Dangermouth Posted 26 February, 2015 Posted 26 February, 2015 That penalty went to play at the highest level.
suewhistle Posted 26 February, 2015 Posted 26 February, 2015 Not long in from football training and just checked the result, then came straight on here to join the general merriment and add to the general laughter. I know schadenfreude can be a negative thing, but this is rather enjoyable...
ART Posted 26 February, 2015 Posted 26 February, 2015 Poch's Spurs knocked out of Europa, Lose to Chelsea in the League Cup Final. Poch given his marching orders on the Ides of March.
Saint_Tony Posted 26 February, 2015 Posted 26 February, 2015 The stupid thing is so many clubs like Spurs and Liverpool are obsessed by Europe. They field weakened teams in the Europa to try and qualify for the Champions League, a competition they have no chance of winning. It all seems so ****ing pointless. We've seen how far behind the English teams are in recent days. I just hope if we qualify for the Europa league that we try to win it, even if our league form suffers.

Saint_Tony Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I thought Spurs played a weakened side due to them actually being in a cup final on Sunday??? Ok fair enough, but theyve done it for every other european game
Batman Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Ok fair enough, but theyve done it for every other european game And won.
Saint_Tony Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 And won. They didn't win tonight though, first team they've faced who are half decent. The point I'm trying to make is too many English sides are obsessed with league games to try and requalify for CL or EL, yet don't try their hardest to win once they get in the competition. Everton have been poor in the league, but I admire Martinez for playing full strength sides in the Europa.

Which is miles more important than the last 32 of the Europa league game.
OldNick Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Liverpool fan said to me how disgusting it was that Saints fans booed Lallana lol
Bucks Saint Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Liverpool fan said to me how disgusting it was that Saints fans booed Lallana lol Of course they would have cheered Gerrard if he had returned for Chelsea when in his prime, having thrown his rattle around to get the move
S-Clarke Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I'd have preferred both teams to stay in Europe to be honest. It looks as if ourselves, Spurs, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal all have a clear run to the end of the season without any European distractions. Could have done with 1 or 2 having mid-week games...
sadoldgit Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 His head may well be in Liverpool, but the ball was in row Z.

This is garbage. Liverpool played Besiktas last week and this week, and still did us at the weekend.
Whitey Grandad Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 This is garbage. Liverpool played Besiktas last week and this week, and still did us at the weekend. True, but it lessens the chances of any of them getting a career-threatening injury
Dark Munster Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 True, but staying in would have increased their chances of winning it. And we wouldn't want that.
Whitey Grandad Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 True, but staying in would have increased their chances of winning it. And we wouldn't want that. No, ideally going out at the semi-finals after extra time and penalties. If they got to the final it would be a bit too close.
doddisalegend Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Liverpool fans find something else (other than Lovern) to get upset about.. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/news/dunkin-donuts-sorry-for-liverpool-badge-gaffe/ar-BBi00Fv?ocid=U218DHP
Batman Posted 28 February, 2015 Posted 28 February, 2015 Obviously, liverpool got away with it at St Mary's last Sunday It's nothing new. They get away with it all the time
Whitey Grandad Posted 28 February, 2015 Posted 28 February, 2015 Obviously, liverpool got away with it at St Mary's last Sunday It's nothing new. They get away with it all the time I often wonder whether the failure of the 'big' English clubs in Europe is down to the use of truly neutral referees.
Bucks Saint Posted 1 March, 2015 Posted 1 March, 2015 I have seriously disliked Chelsea for many many years. I used to get top level hospitality invites for several seasons, including prime CL games, through the previous Chief Exec. These eventually dried up when they realised I was supporting whoever they were playing... Add in the fact that my ex-wife, who lapped up the hospitality of course, is a Chelsea fan these days having been up and down the country supporting Saints prior to becoming a cheating money grabbing *****. Well suited indeed. So, to today, and despite all of the above, it has absolutely made my weekend a lot better to see Mopo achieve his 3rd defeat in 7 days and come away with nothing. **** you Mopo. That is all

andoru Posted 2 March, 2015 Posted 2 March, 2015 Sh!t weekend of results for us, but at least Chelsea have eased some of my pain today. Can't wait for my Spurs-supporting coworker to turn up.
SuperSAINT Posted 2 March, 2015 Posted 2 March, 2015 Poor old Gaston. All too familiar. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Gaston-Ramirez-Jury-long-term-future-Hull-City/story-26102863-detail/story.html?
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 2 March, 2015 Posted 2 March, 2015 Poor old Gaston. All too familiar. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Gaston-Ramirez-Jury-long-term-future-Hull-City/story-26102863-detail/story.html? Good talent playing in the wrong league. I think he'd do well in Spain or Italy, but it will difficult to sell him properly in the summer (even with a year left on his deal) given what he earns.
Charlie Wayman Posted 2 March, 2015 Posted 2 March, 2015 Why does it feel sooooooooo good when Pochettino loses? Don't you just love that sulky, sour-puss look on his face when he is suddenly reminded that he really isn't the best manager to have strutted his stuff in the PL as he imagines in his dreams. Nice one Jose and what a great celebration too. Ouch! How much did that suit cost you?

Move on people and stop going on about people who are not here anymore. I mean bigging up a Chelsea win because they beat MP. Really?

scotty Posted 2 March, 2015 Posted 2 March, 2015 Of course they would have cheered Gerrard if he had returned for Chelsea when in his prime, having thrown his rattle around to get the move Yep. At least lallanas family didn't get death threats when he said he wanted to leave. Gerrard would have been out of scouseland long ago if he'd had any choice in the matter, I sometimes wonder how thick/uninformed the players so keen to join them must be.

Noodles34 Posted 2 March, 2015 Posted 2 March, 2015 Bet you laughed when Lovren missed though! of course, he deserved it. But think it's gone on long enough now. Most of them have gone on to bigger clubs, despite what was said earlier in the season! Anyway, it just comes across all bitter now.

Might put his Mrs off from staying there and him too. Oh what could have been for him. Rather than be a **** of the highest order everywhere he goes, he could have had a nice settled life here. Hope he's not back after the loan spell.

Perhaps it's not the same one though.
trousers Posted 7 March, 2015 Posted 7 March, 2015 Just watching QPR vs Spurs on MotD. Is there a luckier team in the league than Spurs? QPR were by far the better side, especially in the first half, if the highlights are anything to go by. Kane took his goals very well though
SarniaSaint Posted 8 March, 2015 Posted 8 March, 2015 Yeah they were very lucky to win that game.......but eventually your luck goes........LOL
The Cat Posted 8 March, 2015 Posted 8 March, 2015 @dave_boon 4 minutes ago Who would you rather have at CB? Fav for Lovren or RT for an unconcious Skrtel
Batman Posted 8 March, 2015 Posted 8 March, 2015 just watching the liverpool/blackburn game. Sturridge is insanely greedy.
