beatlesaint Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Never mind, anything that gives them even the minutest of chance of taking a point off Chelsea on Saturday is all in the plus column of the ledger for us really. we want them to stay as many points as possible behind us. Chelsea and City will finish 1st and 2nd, we can aim for third though
Bearsy Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 tbf Gerrard, Balotelli, Lovren and Johnson deserve to be dropped. +1 think sterling is underperforming also
doddisalegend Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 TBH if saints got to the CL and did what Liverpool have just done I'd be gutted.
IOWSaintDaz Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 see that badge thumping, Quiff stroking, Monkey baiting idiot is still playing though..... should be a laugh none the less
Bearsy Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Disappointed Lambart couldn't even make the bench I'm also disappointed Lovren ain't on the bench, for different reasons. I was planing to lol and raise a glass every time camera cuts to his glum, stupid face
beatlesaint Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 TBH if saints got to the CL and did what Liverpool have just done I'd be gutted. So would I. I expect their great managers like Shankly and Paisley are spinning in their graves at that team selection. disgraceful, resting players in a Champions League match ? I cannot believe Liverpool fans are happy about this at all.
whelk Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 TBH if saints got to the CL and did what Liverpool have just done I'd be gutted. Koeman would never do such a thing to his #cupfighters
Patrick Bateman Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 lol @ Lovren joining a Champions League club and not playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world tonight, prat.
Whitey Grandad Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Disappointed Lambart couldn't even make the bench Me too. He's a great player and deserves much better treatment than this.
igsey Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Bottling a game, even if it's highly unwinnable and against Real Madrid, doesn't show much ambition does it? I'd say it was pretty disgraceful really, and totally disrespectful to the fans. Rodgers is going to look very stupid if they don't get a result against Chelsea. It's also against the rules
CityRanger Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 So would I. I expect their great managers like Shankly and Paisley are spinning in their graves at that team selection. disgraceful, resting players in a Champions League match ? I cannot believe Liverpool fans are happy about this at all. So they're resting players in the most glamorous CL game in order that they can give themselves a better chance of making PL top 4 - so as not to miss the chance to make the CL next season?! And rest players for those games too? What is the point of this madness? (I know really - £££)
doddisalegend Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 oh dear Liverpool the flood gates start to creak open.....
Bucks Saint Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Real 1 up. And Lovren was nowhere to be seen when Benzema scored
OttawaSaint Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Uh oh, that goal is like the rumbling before an avalanche...poor Liverpool *smirk*
SaintRobbie Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Lallana could've played for Real if he'd stayed a Saint for a couple more seasons. Now he's just a squad player in a mid table team. From captain to nobody. Walk alone.
SaintRobbie Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Get Bale on.... I want to see a thrashing!
SaintSteve Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Bottling a game, even if it's highly unwinnable and against Real Madrid, doesn't show much ambition does it? I'd say it was pretty disgraceful really, and totally disrespectful to the fans. Rodgers is going to look very stupid if they don't get a result against Chelsea. So what Liverpool team would you be happy with ?..he has a squad of 20 odd players to choose from and he's obviously decided that the last 2 CL games are the ones he hopes to win. Lets face it... the ones on the bench have contributed 14 pts from 10 league games; hardly an endorsement for selection tonight.
Crab Lungs Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Anyone totally unsurprised Liverpool look so much better and more solid now they've ditched Gerrard and Henderson? Those two are so sh1te, they really really are.
Lets B Avenue Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 see that badge thumping, Quiff stroking, Monkey baiting idiot is still playing though..... should be a laugh none the less Those poor kids in the Brazilian slums must be SO proud.
ART Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 The best I've seen Liverpool play all season bar for that idiot Lallana who looks well out of place. Just praying Real open all the guns second half and hit them for six, or seven or more.
Jackie@home Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Anyone totally unsurprised Liverpool look so much better and more solid now they've ditched Gerrard and Henderson? Those two are so sh1te, they really really are. I agree. Gerrard is just past it. Typical, making him England captain when he is at the point in his career when he shouldn't be in the side! As for Woy encouraging Ricky and Lallana to join Liverpool, that's worked out well, hasn't it??
lifeintheslowlane Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Yep Liverpool are looking a potent attacking force...let's look at the stats...Total shots on goal RM 13...Liverpool oh ahhh, none. Oh well there's always the second half.
SaintRobbie Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Yep Liverpool are looking a potent attacking force...let's look at the stats...Total shots on goal RM 13...Liverpool oh ahhh, none. Oh well there's always the second half. LOL! Adding another few quid to my Real bet methinks.
Whitey Grandad Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 The best I've seen Liverpool play all season bar for that idiot Lallana who looks well out of place. Just praying Real open all the guns second half and hit them for six, or seven or more. Look at it this way: if Liverpool hang on for a 1-0 defeat how long will those left out have to wait for another chance?
svetigpung Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 I think it was a tactical move. Obviously doesn't want his star players (oh no they're not) on the pitch , geting the urine taken out of them and loosing all confidence they might have left. Such a shame Glen is not playing. I miss him.
Crab Lungs Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 come on Gareth, please smack a couple past these utter losers.
Batman Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 The funny thing is, liverpool REALLY wanted Alexis Sanchez. He would have been the player they needed to replace suarez in the system they played last season. But Sanchez would rather live in London than liverpool
doddisalegend Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 how the hell this still 1-0 I do not know real have had 24 sorry 25 attempts on goal FFS
SNSUN Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Can't deny Liverpool have done OK defensively this game but Real still look dangerous. I'd like a Bale wonder goal and a Ronaldo penalty please. (From a Lallana foul on Marcelo.)
Batman Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 the phone-ins will be full of liverpool fans saying they have 'turned a corner' with this performance
VectisSaint Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 In other news, Boruc and Surman on verge of going top of the Championship.
Batman Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 In other news, Boruc and Surman on verge of going top of the Championship. incredible really only a few years ago, they got promoted from league 2, all chanting how they will be 'going to st marys' great story really
Batman Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 ffs, arsenal drawing has destroyed my accy. stupid north london ****s
Lighthouse Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 They look pretty solid without Lovren! I think the often hilarious Glen Johnson may also be a factor.
igsey Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Arsenal go from 3-0 up to 3-3. Are you Southampton of 5 years ago in disguise?
CB Fry Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 incredible really only a few years ago, they got promoted from league 2, all chanting how they will be 'going to st marys' great story really Indeed. Would be truly amazing if they came up. And the Championship is such a brilliant division - how many teams have been top already? I think about four could have finished on top after tonight's games alone. Great stuff.
doddisalegend Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 They look pretty solid without Lovren! Can't say the same for the Arse chambers part of a defence that has let in 3 after being 3 up. booing at the Emirates........
Whitey Grandad Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Nice shot of Gareth and Bearded Judas there having a chat. I wonder who was tapping up whom?
doddisalegend Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Radio reckon Arsenals defence a shambles hope it can stay that way for a few more games
Bucks Saint Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Nice shot of Gareth and Bearded Judas there having a chat. I wonder who was tapping up whom? Both lamenting leaving Saints
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Rickie's probably always dreamed of seeing his beloved Liverpool play Madrid at the Bernabeu. Unfortunately that's all he got to do tonight. Not even on the bench. Classic case of dream move turning sour. Shame. On the other hand, good to see Lallana contribute s**t all.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 incredible really only a few years ago, they got promoted from league 2, all chanting how they will be 'going to st marys' great story really It's not a great story at all, it's a remake of "Skate expectations " . It will all end in tears , their spending on wages and players is unsustainable for a club their size .
cellone Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Reckon Gareth was telling Ads that it took time for him to come good when he left Saint's and hopefully Ads will find himself again.
Batman Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 It's not a great story at all, it's a remake of "Skate expectations " . It will all end in tears , their spending on wages and players is unsustainable for a club their size . Have to say. Not paid any real attention towards them. So guess they have to go up to pay for it all, it seems On another note, talksport saying that 1-0 to madrid was about right and that Liverpool maybe deserved a draw??!!!! Really? Madrid had near on 30 shots on goal
farawaysaint Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 It's not a great story at all, it's a remake of "Skate expectations " . It will all end in tears , their spending on wages and players is unsustainable for a club their size . If they miss... pl money will cover practically any champ salary.
Pedro Posted 4 November, 2014 Posted 4 November, 2014 Drew Surman scores and Bournemouth top of the league, happy for him tonight.
