AlexLaw76 Posted 30 March, 2024 Posted 30 March, 2024 Tella comes on as a sub in the 86th mins, and sets up an injury time winner. Leverkusen are 13 points clear. Tella will get a league title before Harry Kane!
Tommy Mulgrew Posted 1 April, 2024 Posted 1 April, 2024 No mention of his goalkeeping heroics for us, against Newcastle IIRC. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/dexter-blackstock-the-ex-southampton-man-now-making-serious-money/

Great story for him, he's definitely played a part this year - albeit somewhat bit part, but he's fully integrated into their squad and has contributed some big moments. I'm so glad he ended up there than fucking Burnley. 1
Dr Who? Posted 14 April, 2024 Posted 14 April, 2024 Josh Sim’s scored the winner for Ross County v Rangers today. Ross County’s first ever win over Rangers in their history. 👏 👏 👏 5

FarehamSaintJames Posted 18 May, 2024 Posted 18 May, 2024 Too early to chuck Che Adams name in the thread in some aspects. In other aspects though if he’s been agreeing a deal away from Saints in the background it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the reason he’s been out the past couple of weeks instead.
SaintTex Posted 18 May, 2024 Posted 18 May, 2024 Nathan Tella has had a pretty incredible two years of football 2022-23 Burnley - only 5 losses in all competitions 2023-24 Southampton/Bayer Leverkusen - only 1 loss in all competitions (Gillingham - although i am not sure he even made the trip) 1
Tommy Mulgrew Posted 9 July, 2024 Posted 9 July, 2024 Maya Yoshida is doing well at L A Galaxy. He is captain and they are in third place in their league, MLS Western, equal on points with 1 & 2 after 23 games but having played one and two more. Won 2:1 yesterday with none other than Martin Cacares playing CB alongside him. 1

I think he's still working for us unofficially! - I'm 99% sure he will be having a huge impact on Sugawara joining us. 3

S-Clarke Posted 30 July, 2024 Posted 30 July, 2024 What did Totton do to deserve him? Quote Charlie Austin has signed for non-league club AFC Totton. He will make his debut against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday. The former Southampton and QPR striker has been without a club since leaving Swindon Town at the end of last season. Austin, 35, has played over 500 times in a career spanning 14 years, scoring 200 times. In all seriousness, that's a pretty big signing for Totton. 3

The Cat Posted 30 July, 2024 Posted 30 July, 2024 Sholing v Totton on 13th August if anyone fancies watching him lumber around in a local derby. Sadly we're on holiday or I'd have definitely been there.

SaintNewForest Posted 11 August, 2024 Posted 11 August, 2024 Kami Doyle, after leaving us for "better 1st team opportunities" at Brighton, hasn't even made an appearance for them in pre-season. Still, ££££££ Beach, the goalkeeper who left us for Chelsea is appearing on that graphic of their hundreds of players lately. 20 years old and just joined Crawley on loan. Jimmy Joseph Jack John James Morgan doesn't even make that Chelsea graphic, behind their hundreds of strikers. He's 18 and they've signed 18 year old Marc Guiu from Barcelona for their first team this summer and Samu Omorodion is joining from Atletico Madrid, 20 years old and £35m. So, he's got some tough competition. Whereas, if he was any good, he'd definitely be getting a look in ahead of Mara now. Max Alleyne is getting much, if any of a look in at City, either, now 19. Dibling came back and he's now looking likely to feature in the first game against Newcastle following a strong pre-season. We haven't get much of a pathway here anymore, but there are still more opportunities for first team football here, if the player has the talent to breakthrough. 1

RM wouldn't have encouraged him to do that - finding space in midfield to receive a pass then laying it off and running down the wing to receive the return before crossing for team mate to score. Whatever next 🙂

I agree with you, we arsed around with him at left full back for some reason - never gave him a chance at CB.

He’s right. Mané only really resembled the player he became at Liverpool in his last ten games or so for us, before that there were a lot of at best inconsistent performances. 1
