PEH - Football Focus tomorrow at midday.

He opens up talking about looking after his Dad, unwell with cancer when he was aged 17.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/63411565

Comes across really well in that interview. This very sad story explains why his career stalled a bit at Bayern and why he ultimately needed to come to Saints to get momentum back in his career. Playing well for Spurs by all accounts, just wish we had got true value for him when it was time for him to move on from our stepping stone.

PEH never did that for us in the last minute!!

He got into those positions quite a lot during the whole game but generally never hit the target. Maybe the coaching is better at Spurs?

He plays with better players. Thats all it is.

But he was good at waving his arms about and misplaced passes. Must be better now playing with one of their own and joining in our song.

He's such an important player for Spurs, that Conte almost never subs him and of course, that has paid off in the Champions League:

He was a very important player for us at the time too, but we weren't getting the best out of him at the time, no doubt about that. Also hes a proper leader that we lack.

He's done really well at Spurs, and their fans love him.

As much as I wasn't a fan of him when he was forcing the move, he is exactly what we need right now. Someone who is a leader and encourages his team to do better.

Not someone who downs tools and who's head drops when we concede (JWP).

He really isn't. I'm not going through the whole thread on their forum but this is the last post.

As soon as you see the word 'fraud' you know the poster's opinion is worthless.

You seem to have picked out one of the only negative comments about him. If you read the last few pages of the thread you'll get a better balanced view.

go back a few more and they hate him again

Former no1 Saint defender Wesley Hoedt has been banned by Anderlecht from their first team and made to train separately. Hoedt is having a terrible season, was caught listening to music during one of the pre match meetings and recently demanded a meeting with the manager to ask why he’s not a starter anymore.

Couldn’t have happened to a bigger bellend 😂

Can't let yesterday pass without dredging up this thread for our favourite traitor. Adam Lallana could have really rubbed salt into the wound yesterday by giving it large with the goal celebration. It was bad enough as it was. Fair play to him for having some restraint yesterday and his conciliatory remarks afterwards. After some of the stick we've given him, he had no obligation to say anything.

For me, the weirdest thing about his comments is that he is yet another person who admits to watching Luton regularly. I had no idea they drew such a large audience.

Charlie Austin left Brisbane Roar two weeks ago and two days ago signed for Swindon Town.

Brisbane (from what I’ve read) played a lot better without him. 😅

is he doing a celebratory tour of all his old clubs? he’s doing his career in reverse, will be playing for poole town by may

Watford have just confirmed the signing of “Netherlands International” defender Wesley Hoedt.

When did he last play a game for the national team? Or was even part of a squad? 🤣

I wonder if they watched the Fulham game before deciding to sign him.

Also a special shout out to Jannik Vestergaard at Leicester who turned down the chance to leave Leicester on loan (a deal with Hertha Berlin had been agreed).

He’s chosen to stay in England to be with his wife, their one year old and their soon to be newborn.

Quoted as saying “I’m a father first, and a footballer second”.

Definitely an entertainer third. 🤣

TalkSPORT spurs fans Danny Kelly and Paul Hawksbee saying  they thought Forster should have got down quicker for two of Leicester goals.
oh dear. Did they not know what a immovable object they signed. 😂

That's a limitation in his game though, always has been. I too thought at least one of those goals was saveable by a more agile keeper.

I know we can't really talk right now as we have a keeper who is seemingly incapable of making any saves, ever.

He did get down to make one save , strong hand etc . The goals though he either didn’t see the ball in time or dived too late to get near the ball. From one angle it looked close but other angles he was miles away . The defending was at Saints level so he should be used to it !

Eljero Elia has today announced his retirement from professional football. Elia was loaned from Werder Bremen in the 2015 season under Ronald Koeman. He scored a brace against Newcastle (his only goals for us).
