Poch leaving PSG by mutual consent...

Some inevitability to this. PSG chasing the holy grail of the Champions League. That’s seen Emery, Tuchel now Poch on his way.

Effect of Poch leaving will put a bit of pressure on some EPL managers as he waits in the wings. Come as no surprise to me if he is at Newcastle by Christmas, or even the start of the season.

Everton fans will think he’s theirs for the asking, but then some on here will be making out the case for his return also, possibly in the next couple of weeks when they say Ralph can’t attract the players and we need a higher profile manager. You know it’ll happen.

Agree, he can have a summer off, probably wait till the World Cup starts, when premier league (+top european) clubs will take stock and start firing managers.

Everton, Newcastle, Leicester manager's will need to perform as they would all love him at their clubs.

I would love him back at Saints, but he dines at the top table now.

"

Southampton will only receive a lump sum — believed to be around 15 to 20 per cent — of any profit that Liverpool make on the player." - per the Athletic.

The amount Saints received for Mane I remember fluctuated between £30m to £38m, but I'd guess based on the success and trophies he has won we received the full amount.

Sadio Mane scored 75% of his PL goals within two miles of the coast.

He might be in trouble, as even Bremen is circa 37 miles from the sea...

This from the man that tells us head to head records between two clubs mean nothing as it's all in the past.

Well done, Maya.

A bit of scouting for us wouldn't go amiss either, Celtic seem to pick up some handy players for small fees there.

This is almost certain to end in laughable trainwreck fashion, and I will be here for it.

Possibly even worse than the Daniel Sturridge/Perth Glory fiasco, in which the club spent several hundred thousand dollars - which for Australian football is a serious amount of money - for a bloke who made six appearances (one start) and no goals. His biggest contribution was starting a discussion about the ability of local barbers to handle a black man's haircut.

Basically coming out for the lifestyle and sun. The league is a joke standard. I think though he has to be better value than Sturridge who was a complete waster.

Sturridge , if he could have remained half fit would have been awesome. Can see Charlie Austin getting the reverse “Heathrow injection” ie coming to Australia drinking piss enjoying the sun and going back 10kg heavier.

A few other names of note on that list, and a nice message from nigel in the replies as well.

Interestingly Frank Lampard given the Chelsea role before he completed the final Pro Licence?

Guly Do Prado interview:

http://sportwitness.co.uk/brazilian-says-southampton-exit-little-sad-blames-manager-far-excellent-person/

“I was trained by Pochettino between 2013 and 2014 and I learned a lot from him. He was one of the best coaches I’ve ever had. But, as a person, I can’t say much good, because it left something to be desired with me in some things,” Guly told ESPN Brasil.

“I don’t have to say anything bad, because he was a great coach. With him, I improved my football and everything I learned I implemented later. He was very important in my career. My departure from Southampton was a little sad. Pochettino was a good coach, but as a person he was not excellent.

“I never gave him a problem, I always respected him. I had a conversation with Pochettino and he liked what I said. But when he had to help me, he didn’t help me. All I needed was a ‘yes’ from him to renew my contract.

“He already knew he would leave Southampton, because he had had a great season and Tottenham were watching. So he failed me in that matter. It was all because of my age, because I learned later that he didn’t like old players.”

“When he arrived at Tottenham, by the way, he sent almost all the older guys away, like Adebayor and several big players. I believe he could have been more loyal to me.”

Hojbjerg linked with Real Madrid.

He's very underrated by many Saints fans but he's one of the best defensive midfielders in the game. He'll do well at Real Madrid if Spurs are prepared to let him go. They'd expect at least £40 mill for him though.

Brilliant save from Angus Gunn!

Don't recall seeing that last sentence very often before on here.
