Whitey Grandad Posted 13 August, 2019 Posted 13 August, 2019 Much loved defector Lovren potentially on the move... Does that price include his head?
hasper57saint Posted 13 August, 2019 Posted 13 August, 2019 That's quite cheap for "one of the best defenders in the world"... Who told you that?
VectisSaint Posted 13 August, 2019 Posted 13 August, 2019 Schneiderlin might be off. Well you got that right.
skintsaint Posted 13 August, 2019 Posted 13 August, 2019 Dan Petrescu got a decent result last night, good to see him doing well.

Lighthouse Posted 19 August, 2019 Posted 19 August, 2019 I thought Targett left for more game time? Kept out of the Villa side by a 30 year old Neil Taylor so far TBF 30 is in his prime really, it's not as if he's 38. Targett will get his chance, especially if they keep shipping goals and losing.

Nordic Saint Posted 23 August, 2019 Posted 23 August, 2019 Schneiderlin seems to be Everton's equivalant of Clasie: #bbcfootball or text on 81111 (UK only) Don’t understand why Marco Silva bothered to put Morgan Schneiderlin back in, he goes backwards, looks a liability on the ball and players jog past him frequently.
Lighthouse Posted 23 August, 2019 Posted 23 August, 2019 Targett on the other hand hasn’t even made the bench for Villa, not that Taylor looks anything special.
saint1977 Posted 23 August, 2019 Posted 23 August, 2019 Shocking miss from Theo, on a par with Ings’s Tyro League miss late on last week. Potentially a bad result for Saints though
Lighthouse Posted 23 August, 2019 Posted 23 August, 2019 Shocking miss from Theo, on a par with Ings’s Tyro League miss late on last week. Potentially a bad result for Saints though Everton look nothing special, if we get our arses in gear there’s no reason we can’t compete with them over the course of a season. All three of their fixtures have been easier than either of our two. Waaaaaay too early to be hoping for relegation rivals to start losing.

Lighthouse Posted 24 August, 2019 Posted 24 August, 2019 Charlie Austin struggling to get into the West Brom starting eleven. They were a goal down for 80 minutes of that match and he was an unused sub. Doesn’t bode too well.

Matthew Le God Posted 24 August, 2019 Posted 24 August, 2019 Charlie Austin struggling to get into the West Brom starting eleven. Probably because he didn't have a proper pre-season. No games played and joined West Brom late in the window.
egg Posted 27 August, 2019 Posted 27 August, 2019 Matt Targett off injured in the 1st half for Villa. That lad has no luck.

OttawaSaint Posted 1 September, 2019 Posted 1 September, 2019 Went to Montreal Impact vs DC United today. Saphir Taider was absolutely gash in a 3-0 home defeat for Montreal. The DC fans that traveled up were incredible though, sang, chanted and drummed for the whole time they were in the stadium, didn’t stop for a single minute. Constant noise.

They’ve done ok for themselves. Good to see.
Saint_clark Posted 2 September, 2019 Posted 2 September, 2019 I remember thinking that Mills and Cranie - being first choice for England under 18s and under 21s, with Cranie being the captain - were going to be an amazing pairing for us moving forward. Shame it never worked out that way.
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 September, 2019 Posted 2 September, 2019 Slightly tenuous, seeing as it's getting on for 30 years since he left, but Neil Ruddock is on Celebrity Masterchef. Pretty obvious he likes his food too. Hard to believe he used to be a professional sportsman.
HarvSFC Posted 4 September, 2019 Posted 4 September, 2019 A young 21-year-old centre-back, Ben White, who's on loan from Brighton has been named Leeds' player of the month as they sit in third place in the Championship. What does it have to do with us? Well, he was released by Saints just five years a go at 16.
Danbert Posted 5 September, 2019 Posted 5 September, 2019 Matt Targett has yet to play for Villa, he can barely make the subs bench. If only we had 13 million to **** up the wall on a reserve left back who never gets a game.

If only we had 13 million to **** up the wall on a reserve left back who never gets a game. You have to feel sorry for Matt. He was probably sold the idea he would be either first choice, or at least competing (alternating) with Taylor. I guess he has to wait for his chance, then take it.

Better to spend 13m and have them on your bench than our recent mode We have wasted c£80m on players that couldn't even make our bench and now out on loan. Moi, Carrillo, Lemina, Hoedt, FF

Chatting to a Villa fan at work, he said they are just waiting for him to 'get up to speed'. They'll be waiting a while then. Pace was never one of his attributes.

Badger Posted 6 September, 2019 Posted 6 September, 2019 A day of developments for former Saints, now in the manager stakes: Garry Monk https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49610317 And Kevin Bond. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49538878 Neither of whom I'd regards as "defectors" as players, but Bond's association with Redkn0b and his following him from and back to the skates does make him fair game for this thread.
