Wimborne_saint Posted 14 September, 2017 Share Posted 14 September, 2017 3-0 at half time.......Everton are a shambles at the back......makes our defence look good Typical Koeman for throwing the Europa though did the same with us Not sure he's really thrown this, playing a strong team. But they look absolutely terrible, considering the amount of money they spent. Think people's predictions of them knocking on the door for top 4 are slightly misjudged

stevegrant Posted 14 September, 2017 Share Posted 14 September, 2017 According to transfermarkt.co.uk, Koeman has spent TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY MILLION POUNDS since he became Everton manager. He has somehow managed to manufacture a squad that has at least three number tens but not a single centre forward to finish off any chances that might be created, and the only player with pace has been out for more than a year with a knee injury. Baffling.
DuncanRG Posted 14 September, 2017 Share Posted 14 September, 2017 For anyone who watched - how similar were Everton's deficiencies to ours in the Europa under Koeman? Wondering if it's a failure to motivate.

Around £150m over the course of two years - of course we recouped around £160m in sales, but our signings while he was here all just seemed so much more sensible and carefully-planned. There might be something to be said for the black box system rather than randomly chucking money around then! I suppose given the inflation in transfers (given sigurdson was a 10/15 million pound player when RK was with us and now his price has tripled) I suppose you could argue that he spent more when with us in real terms? £370 million though in,what, four years is it ? he really can't say he hasn't been backed whilst in English football can he? trousers Posted 15 September, 2017 Share Posted 15 September, 2017 (edited) Slightly shocked by Glasgow's performance on this thread. He's been in such good form recently too. Here's hoping this is just a blip rather than a downward trend. If he's not careful the mods will cotton on to his game plan and no-one wants to see that. I sense that he's about to play the "post a different opinion, get called a troll" looking for sympathy card, which, in my humble opinion, would be the wrong move right now. Tense times indeed.
