Defectors Watch

3-0 at half time.......Everton are a shambles at the back......makes our defence look good

Typical Koeman for throwing the Europa though did the same with us

Not sure he's really thrown this, playing a strong team. But they look absolutely terrible, considering the amount of money they spent. Think people's predictions of them knocking on the door for top 4 are slightly misjudged

Work with a dyed in the wool evertonian- he maintains that koeman is not an Everton type of manager and was very critical of his putting Cuco in front of the youngsters.

He will always favor experience over youth though, it's always been a myth that he bloods youngsters.

According to transfermarkt.co.uk, Koeman has spent TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY MILLION POUNDS since he became Everton manager. He has somehow managed to manufacture a squad that has at least three number tens but not a single centre forward to finish off any chances that might be created, and the only player with pace has been out for more than a year with a knee injury. Baffling.

Without a big CF to play off, Koemans tactics don't really work.

Genuinely surprised he didn't go in for Pelle on loan.

He must have spent a considerable sum when our manager too..

Yep. A lot more than I expected, actually. Around £150m over the course of two years - of course we recouped around £160m in sales, but our signings while he was here all just seemed so much more sensible and carefully-planned.

Popped over to read this.....https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/forums/everton-forum.2/ Quite amusing....seems Koeman's honeymoon is well and truly over.
Just jumped on a random page on the Atalanta match thread:

"At what stage are we officially allowed to start bed wetting"

In fairness Koeman always decent against the big boys so could get a result on Sunday. Rooney v Lukaku in the not-celebrating-a-goal face off.

******POSITIVES******

At least they did not make EFL cup final = MORE REST = PROFIT

Sold Lukaku their only source of goals BUT = MORE CASH = PROFIT (not a selling club like that little old southampton)

Am I doing Heisenberg right?

Incredible that he's managed to jinx Everton, as well as Stoke, Palace and don't forget that year he was gushing about Norwich!
The Glasgow kiss of death.

Norwich and Rick V-W tearing up the league = FAIL

Stoke, will always be a higher level than us = FAIL

Palace win the transfer window = FAIL

He's still fighting the good fight with his beloved Toffees and is a role model in not being one of those knee jerk merchants. He will always give mangers of Everton time to bed into the role and not make a judgement until maybe 150 games in.

He can't possibly FAIL again, surely?

There might be something to be said for the black box system rather than randomly chucking money around then!

I suppose given the inflation in transfers (given sigurdson was a 10/15 million pound player when RK was with us and now his price has tripled) I suppose you could argue that he spent more when with us in real terms?

£370 million though in,what, four years is it ? he really can't say he hasn't been backed whilst in English football can he?

Slightly shocked by Glasgow's performance on this thread. He's been in such good form recently too. Here's hoping this is just a blip rather than a downward trend. If he's not careful the mods will cotton on to his game plan and no-one wants to see that. I sense that he's about to play the "post a different opinion, get called a troll" looking for sympathy card, which, in my humble opinion, would be the wrong move right now. Tense times indeed.
