Tella comes on as a sub in the 86th mins, and sets up an injury time winner.

Leverkusen are 13 points clear. Tella will get a league title before Harry Kane!

Great story for him, he's definitely played a part this year - albeit somewhat bit part, but he's fully integrated into their squad and has contributed some big moments.

I'm so glad he ended up there than fucking Burnley.

Josh Sim’s scored the winner for Ross County v Rangers today. Ross County’s first ever win over Rangers in their history.

👏 👏 👏

Too early to chuck Che Adams name in the thread in some aspects. In other aspects though if he’s been agreeing a deal away from Saints in the background it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the reason he’s been out the past couple of weeks instead.

Nathan Tella has had a pretty incredible two years of football

2022-23  Burnley - only 5 losses in all competitions

2023-24 Southampton/Bayer Leverkusen - only 1 loss in all competitions (Gillingham - although i am not sure he even made the trip)

Maya Yoshida is doing well at L A Galaxy.  He is captain and they are in third place in their league, MLS Western, equal on points with 1 & 2 after 23 games but having played one and two more.  Won 2:1 yesterday with none other than Martin Cacares playing CB alongside him.

Love Maya, feels a bit harsh to speak about him in the defectors thread!

I think he's still working for us unofficially! - I'm 99% sure he will be having a huge impact on Sugawara joining us.

The CB partnership we should have played at the end of the 16/17 season, finally getting an outing.

What did Totton do to deserve him?

  Quote

Charlie Austin has signed for non-league club AFC Totton

He will make his debut against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

The former Southampton and QPR striker has been without a club since leaving Swindon Town at the end of last season.

Austin, 35, has played over 500 times in a career spanning 14 years, scoring 200 times.

In all seriousness, that's a pretty big signing for Totton.

Sholing v Totton on 13th August if anyone fancies watching him lumber around in a local derby.

Sadly we're on holiday or I'd have definitely been there.

Yann Valery started for Sheff Wednesday this afternoon

"The biggest plus for Danny Rohl was probably the performance of his new signings: Jamal Lowe made one and scored one, Yan Valery was a bullet train at right-back and Svante Ingelsson, who created the first goal, dominated the midfield alongside Barry Bannan."

Kami Doyle, after leaving us for "better 1st team opportunities" at Brighton, hasn't even made an appearance for them in pre-season. Going well, then!

Whereas if he was here, he no doubt wouldve been given a chance to stake a claim.

Still, ££££££

Beach, the goalkeeper who left us for Chelsea is appearing on that graphic of their hundreds of players lately. 20 years old and just joined Crawley on loan. Jimmy Joseph Jack John James Morgan doesn't even make that Chelsea graphic, behind their hundreds of strikers. He's 18 and they've signed 18 year old Marc Guiu from Barcelona for their first team this summer and Samu Omorodion is joining from Atletico Madrid, 20 years old and £35m. So, he's got some tough competition. Whereas, if he was any good, he'd definitely be getting a look in ahead of Mara now.

Max Alleyne is getting much, if any of a look in at City, either, now 19.

Dibling came back and he's now looking likely to feature in the first game against Newcastle following a strong pre-season.

We haven't get much of a pathway here anymore, but there are still more opportunities for first team football here, if the player has the talent to breakthrough.

Happy for the guy, played out of position here and not really given a chance

Kevin Danso will land in Roma today after €25m package deal sealed with RC Lens on Tuesday.

He's come on leaps and bounds at Lens, one of the better players in France.

I agree with you, we arsed around with him at left full back for some reason - never gave him a chance at CB.

Good to see former academy player Christoph Klarer doing well at Birmingham. Played the full match last night after signing for them for around £4 million this summer. Always thought he looked pretty promising, and a former Austrian u21 international.

Shane Long's on the side that Mane was bad when he first joined us and praises Koeman's coaching for creating the player he became.

Expand

He’s right. Mané only really resembled the player he became at Liverpool in his last ten games or so for us, before that there were a lot of at best inconsistent performances.
