I know that lots of people will say market forces but I feel that the Premier League should provide some form of protection from the circling vultures of the top four or five clubs. If they don't then eventually the divide will be so large that there will be a massive imbalance and the premier league will almost be pointless with the top six playing for Champions League and the remainder playing to avoid relegation and provide almost futile opposition.

So should the League limit the number of players that can be bought from one team by another or stop players leaving until a certain proportion of their agreed contract has expired?

I enjoyed your excellent post . My sentiments entirely

The premier have a duty to protect clubs like us from the rape and pillage of the supposed top 4 or 5

I'm not sure the premier league are in a position to do anything though .

The big 4 or 5 dictate to the premier league what they want and they have to ensure their demands are met

So while I agree clubs should limit the number of purchases from one club

There should be some form of investigation as to what us happening to us

Ps ignore the wind up merchants like Julian cope .

They think they are clever . Not

The Board have a duty to protect our club, not the Premier League. In the meantime, I think I'll smoke some of that stuff the OP smokes.
