Appears I was wrong regarding the info I posted regarding Marcos Rojo, I am deeply sorry however I was led to believe it was true. #saintsfc

TBF, he is a known wind up merchant.

So much so that the official Southampton twitter account has blocked him apparently.

Probably not even that, some people seem to get FM2014 or whatever it is and reality all intertangled.

I believe that their are even cure centres for FM addiction, well I expect they do other video games as well.

I jest you not, I have a colleague who's granddaughter has just done 6 weeks rehab for addiction to some role playing game. Didn't eat, didn't sleep, failed her baccalaureat.

I'm sure he said there were a few FM addicts in there as well.

I've had to get two screens for my computer at work so that I can have FM open on one screen and actual work on the other

One of my uni friends ended up splitting up with his bird (Miss Cardiff 2006) because of his FM addiction. She asked him to choose and he chose FM. Went completely awol for 3 years. Was actually a pretty **** time. He's better now mind.

He offered me a bit of a grovelling apology over twitter as well. I fear the lad is a bit fragile.

You're alright still then, it's when you actually stop going to work to play that it get's tricky. We all remember David James and Tomb Raider, first well known video game addict.

A bit more substance than a random tweet from a teenager.

‏@GraemeBailey

Southampton making a real push for Marcos Rojo, but a lot of interest from other Premier League clubs.

Sounds like another Ramirez/Osvaldo fiasco where its on and off a million times whilst he waits for concrete interest from a bigger team.

And it's not just PL clubs, I'm sure Juventus are in the mix somewhere and PSG may still even be in there as well, they were, don't know where they stand on it now.

Wait....fiasco when we got our targets....??

Ok, they haven´t turned as we would´ve hoped but that has really nothing to with it at this stage though....

Apparently we've bid £12m for Rojo.

We probably won't even get his gran for that. He'll go at well over 20, buy out clause 30 million €s but he's 2 years into that contract.

Fiasco as in saga. And in Osvaldo's case everything after he signed too.

From Tuesday: @SkySportsAmy: Sources: Southampton hoping to bring in a keeper, defender and a forward by the end of this week with a focus on young English talent

Did Ralph confirm we would make (these) signings in his interviews on Tuesday? If so, we've had Bertrand so that leaves a 'keeper and a forward so that would appear to rule out Rojo on both nationality and position or ......

Sky did alter that statement shortly after to ''Young talent'.

It's still on her SSN twitter account as above, it hasn't been altered.

It was altered on their breaking news strap on the TV yesterday .

Who knows, I was just told to expect a signing today. But who knows with football, not going to stick my balls on the line with it!

S-Clarke are you still confident a signing is happening today???

Regardless of a signing, we'll definitely be getting an update from Koeman after the game which will be interesting to hear the latest.

Decent!! Rojo is at our training complex, deal is practically done!

HAVE IT #SaintsFC

I believe this is another wind up account.

On the basis they took the emphasis off 'English' that still leaves us with a 'keeper and forward which again would suggest not Rojo.

Be interesting if we do see two players arrive tomorrow / end of the week.

I'm guessing if this happens it'll be the swap for Osvaldo.

Just another random guy on Twitter trying to get some attention, also evident from his profile picture.

is not Twitter merely the modern equivalent of chain letters ? Or going down the pub and repeating whatever you'd heard in a day to all and sundry who in turn repeated it to everyone else they knew. Can't see the difference myself.

Similar for sure, but think of it as a means to express that first thought that comes to your mind where your subconscious normally says "woah, you'll get in trouble for that one", thus keeping you from saying it.

Where in the past you'd relay that mildly racist joke to your friend in confidence, with Twitter it now gets spread across the interwebs for all of time to remember.

Twitter does contain millions of randoms spouting rubbish, but it also contains the actual people in question and journalists with good contacts. If you filter it correctly its far better than a "block down the pub told me... XYZ".

What time of the PM / eve was Bertrand announced?

I think the best we can hope for is for RK to reveal we're very close in the post match rather than any announcements tonight.

Rojo has been spoken to. My source tells me he doesn't think he'll be coming. Too much interest from elsewhere and feels we'll be priced out of a deal as others will offer far higher wages.

Interesting to see De Vrij say that Utd were never in for him but other clubs were but he wouldn't name them. I'm reliably informed we were one of them. Again, our offer was no where near what others were offering.
