Transfer Rumours Only

Any more news on the rumoured medical due today and where the patient is liable to be English, Dutch, Moroccan or Argentinian?

Won't be Argentinian as the Portuguese media have stated we are now waiting on a response for our latest offer (unless we are in for any other Argentinians!)

Doubt it would be Forster, van Dijk or Vlaar due to recent events (the Celtic players only playing last night and Vlaar's seeming commitment to Villa.)

Wouldn't be surprised if it's either Ings or Belhanda, although that is just sheer estimation on my part...

Lallana and Chambers both had their medicals at Liverpool and Arsenal before terms of the deals were finalised. The fact that Les is out in Portugal suggests an urgency to get this transfer done, so wouldn't be surprised if we got him back to Staplewood for the medical before sorting out any loose-ends - certainly sounds like we are nearing an agreement. Bound to be tricky though with third-party ownership involved.

Can Ulrich van Gobbel please report to Transfer Rumours thread with flight times please? Thank you.

As a British summer doesn't last too long, that doesn't mean much

Krueger said he would be here at the start of the season

The Xfer window closes AFTER the start of the season

IMHO Morgan will be gone by the close of the window. (How's he been doing in SFC's pre-season games ? )

Krueger will be proved to be "technically" correct

You know this how? ITK? Source please.

Hmmm! Interesting to recall that Harry experimented with 3 center backs during his time at Saints. Way ahead of his time. :)

I only recall it on one occasion...Away to Birmingham in the (ill-fated) relegation run in. Van Damme played left-wing back and we were 2 gown in the first 10 minutes, I think. The painful memories of this game may mean, though, that my mind recalls it far worse than it was. I think I saw 2 draws in 8 away games after Christmas - missing the away win at Middlesrough as it was a Sunday afternoon non-sky game.

Feel we need a centre back, attacking player and striker in before the start of the season. For me Forster isn't a priority and Boruc is more than capable. Rojo, Belhanda and Chicarito would do nicely.... here's to wishful thinking! :poundit::poundit:

What if Boruc breaks his finger again or has any other injury for that matter?

Krueger has repeatedly said that MS will be at Southampton on "September 1". Now you could be pedantic and argue that that is actually the last day of the transfer window, ( due to it being a weekend ), but I think the intent behind that statement is clear.

Why is everyone focused on Anfield? It's about the season, not 1 game we'll probably lose whoever we sign.

Why will we probably lose? Yes we've lost some key players but with some good aquistions in the next two weeks, plus the fact most of liverpools new signings wont be involved and the 'biting rat' now picking his next meal in Spain. its potentially a game to take points from. We won there last year shortly before there brilliant run.

Because when I'm sitting in a bar in Majorca surrounded by a bunch of scousers, after they've poached some of our best players including a total c*nt called Lovren I'm desperate for us to win. It's called emotion.

It is clear

He does not guarantee him being here AFTER September 1

That has always been very clear to me. Why is is not so clear to others ??

Whilst I would absolutely love Clasie to come here, I see Clasie got stretchered off last night against Beskitas according to my Dutch counterparts. Damn! Seems Forster is on the way though although heard not mention of Van Dijk but that doesn't mean a great deal. Here's hoping this becomes an even better week. Rojo and Forster alone would represent very good business. Definitely need another striker or attacking options though.

papers today stating that Newcastle have been told that £8million will be sufficient to prise VD from Celtic......would be bloody annoyed if this happens.....

Exactly what part of my post is incorrect ??

My deduction clearly said " IMHO ", but of course opinions on here are frowned upon if they dare to criticise those that run SFC, don't they ?

All good except he said that MS will be at the club on 1 September

This was the game he gave Kenwyne his debut... at right midfield, right?

But he has said, again repeatedly, that MS is a core player for the rebuilding of the team.

In which case, why not wait until September 2nd ?

The Transfer Window closes at 11pm on September 1st. In order to sell him AFTER "September 1" (or "September 1st" as he actually said on SSN), he would have to wait until January 1st. Which as far as I'm concerned is fine anyway.

Of course, as SaintRichmond is so concerned with semantics, actually we can sell anyone at any point, they can own his registration outside a transfer window, they just wouldn't be able to play him because the registration can only transfer within a transfer window. Which pretty much makes signing him just to pay his wages for a while a really silly idea. And that is also one of the main reasons why Rodriguez is still at Saints.

You gotta try it before you buy it. Ronnie watches him for 45 minutes and if he likes what he sees then Wollscheid comes out of the tunnel wearing a Saints shirt.

I prefer the "burlap sack over the head before kick off" approach, though even if we lose hideously that could just be spun as "look how much we need you".

If this was wrestling, it would be a "Philipp Wollscheid on a pole" match.
