Transfer Rumours Only

First we went for good players, but we couldn't get them. Then we tried for average players, but that proved difficult too. Now we're looking at shit players.

It takes time.

remember old ralphy said that we will have an exciting team come septemberONE

Right now we are clearly struggling - we've sold most of our best players and the rebuild of the team is clearly not going to plan.

Actually you answered your own post....

You don't know that. You have no idea whether or not we are. There could be any number of reasons why deals haven't happened' date=' and they either could be in our control or out of our control.[/quote']

Samaras is an excellent an option, experienced, scored at a World Cup, big physical player. Excellent understudy for Pelle and free.

I'm no longer sure what the aims of the club are or if I'm joking.

pretty sad state of affairs when samaras is considered a decent option. even you were part joking

The transfer window isn't closed there's a few weeks left and if there is the doom everyone predicts then fair enough I too will be angry but 4 weeks in football is a long time.

That is you opinon and fair enough but the season starts in 2 weeks not 4 - we have had weeks to get in players we have known we needed. If we have a 20 team of scouts why have none delivered that is my question not bed wetting or panicking but a fact that we have not recruited.

FWIW I think it'll be a good signing today (hopefully Rojo), the board, know that the fans aren't best pleased with how they've acted this Summer. Thus a good/marquee signing is needed to back up Ralph's words after the last time he spoke to the press and ended up looking like a tit...

I really despair at Koeman's quotes and predictions. 9/10 are complete bu ll sh*te. "We're not selling, we're keeping our players, we're getting players signed...." and then the complete opposite. Results on the pitch have been impressive but we will need to improve and have new additions. The Osvaldo deal is in addition to what was supposed to happen and I'm not interested except that that we are rid of Osvaldo. Whether it's a distraction to the rest going on or not I don't know but yet another week begins and no decent signing.

Koeman hasn't said anything to deserve that. What planet are you on?!?

I can not see us signing Samaras, probably because I don't want to. But everyone knows he's dog-poo. If we do, I will be one un-happy camper. It would just clearly show our ambitions and intentions. He's at best a 3rd choice striker, meaning we'lld have to sign a better 2nd.

I suggest you attempt to retain information that you read for slightly longer than 5 seconds. You may then recognise it when it's quoted. Sorry for the lack of punctuation Barry. I made the mistake of assuming you had read the article properly.

I read the article, couldn't reconcile what you decided to conclude with the article, questioned ("tenuous link"), forgot about that specific line (admittedly), assumed that you were now spouting your deductions based on the source article (which wasn't referenced in the Express article), re-read Express article and subsequently realised you weren't, returned to original line of questioning.

Incidentally, who's "punctuation Barry"

I actually think that Koeman is simply trying to put a positive spin on things. He knows how frustrated the fans are and also knows that the club won't say anything about incoming players. All he's trying to do is keep spirits up. Should he say that there's 2 or 3 players coming in at the weekend when it's not 100%? No, probably not but at least he's staying positive. It would be far more worrying if he was saying 'we're trying to get players in but none of them want to come here'.

Im still going to give them until the end of the week to attempt to get some decent incomings. However trying to placate us with ultimately poor squad players or even worse more outgoings for me will signal just how poor a position we are in right now.

I'm sure the club are indebted for your generosity with the time scales.

Feck me this is like being with a côck tease typea bird!

She basically promises you a bit of how's your father on the weekend, and you've got to the hand job phase and you're willing her to get your member in her mouth only for her to keep yanking which isn't really what you were promised.

Come on saints, suck me off!

I did. Regardless of whether I forgot about that specific sentence, my original point remains, that tenuous link (which is over a year old) is representative of the Barcelona fan-base? You think it is, evidently. I see it as a year old toss-up between Samaras and Klose.

Les Reed told him to stop being cry-baby when he complained bout homesickness on England duty. It was in his autobiography or whatever.
He could at least put his autobiography online to give us something to tear to pieces whilst we wait for the phantom signings. "The Phantom Arrivals of St Mary's" A griping tale of the endless frustrations, deceptions, intrigue, untruths and complete mystery"

Imagine a world without the internet, and without 24 hour sport coverage. No, really think about it. The only "news" would be at 6pm, or in the evening or daily papers and rumours would only spread by word of mouth. I'm old enough to remember this world so maybe that helps me to put cope with the lack of signings. If all you have known is this world of instant communication and communication that literally billions of people could access at the very same moment and I can understand why patience is not a trait that many people under say 30 have in abundance.

Of course we do live in the age of the internet and 24 hours coverage and so more information than ever before is transmitted instantly and so expectations and the thirst for news/information is almost constant and it is literally in peoples' hands.

Despite this technology the process of signing a player is still and always will be a human process (aided by technology of course) but its people that talk, discuss, negotiate, test, and decide. This takes as long as it takes and when players are moving country it will likely take longer.

The longer we go this week without some decent signings the more concerned I will be but if you take the access to forums and social media the waiting becomes easier and removes all the pathetic expressions of concern and fear that emanate on here because the forum acts as a release for too many. Imagine if you couldnt let loose on here......think how the chinese whispers would die down.

When we sign Schelotto the OS will probably say something like:

Saints have beaten a host of top European clubs to the signing of Italy International Ezequiel Schelotto.

CEO Gareth Rogers commented, "Ezequiel is an excellent young player who continues our policy of signing proven young talent. I am excited to watch him and am sure our fans will be keen to see him play."

Schelotto said, "This is a dream come true for me. I love the Premier League and the chance to work for such a respected CEO as Gareth is great. When I first met Les Reed I was so impressed with the amount of money he brought in by selling the best players. That made me feel I could be a part of the club."

Tickets to watch the debut of Ezequiel versus Leverkusen are still available. Ryan Bertrand, Giorgios Samaras, Barry Robson and Gary Caldwell will also be paraded before kick off.

Sorry you've lost me... It is a fact we have not recruited?

Tadic, Pelle, Bertrand. Not to mention Koeman his staff. Oh and the apple marketing girl...:p

You are bed wetting and you are panicking. As with many others you are making facts up and speculating to reinforce your concern because you have no control or true insight. You will have to wait. Throwing your toys out of the pram will only create bad feeling for yourself and more teenlike angst.

Hoping these gash players we are being linked with are actually smokescreens for actual quality players that we are doing deals for, instead of bringing in Sceletto and Samaras we actually bring in Vlaar and Clasie.

I live in hope considering I have read many times how we have a team of people that continuously watch football from around the world to check players out.actually thinking about it these are the same people that found Mayuka and Forren.

I think we are doomed

Its a fact that we have a weaker squad than ended last season.

That aspect of it is quite scary really! Team of 20 football professionals scouting worldwide football talent for a whole year, and they recommend Georgios Samaras :(

Maybe they recommended him after our esteemed DoF failed to strike a deal to sign the first 17 strikers on the list despite having a net transfer kitty of £75m?
