farawaysaint Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 What's with all these new 1 posters all of a sudden ? Return of the forum propaganda mouthpieces? Ah, it's just like the good old days (Or maybe the crisis is drawing everyone out the woodwork desperate for news?)
VectisSaint Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 It will still be the weekend until midday tomorrow somewhere in the world. Anyone expecting a signing from Celtic is being a bit naive given that have a CL 2nd leg match to do on Wednesday. I reckon all the players are holed up in a hotel somewhere in the New Forest waiting to be unveiled. Will probably be tomorrow. Is it legal these days to sign a player on a Sunday? Or are the rules the same as when Ted signed Mick from under the noses of Swindon in 1964.
Matthew Le God Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Is it legal these days to sign a player on a Sunday? Sunday 10th June 2012...
VectisSaint Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Sunday 10th June 2012... I guess that's a yes then
Block34 Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 "....According to Sky Sport Italia, Osvaldo will fly in tomorrow morning and have his medical on Tuesday. The delay is so that Southampton can finalise the missing details in the exchange of loans with Saphir Taider and Ezequiel Schelotto." http://www.football-italia.net/53428/osvaldo-and-medel-due-inter
Heisenberg Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Think you should be banned. TheUglyInside worked you out as a troll Leslie Lets not jump to conclusions..... Twiglet is maybe living in the US, Brazil, Iceland or another country that is behind the UK in terms of time? Perhaps he meant 7pm Brazil time? I will give him the benefit of the doubt. We can work out which country he lives in when the announcement is made later tonight.
CamberwellSaint Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Wanyama definitely with us throughout January as Kenya out of the ACON. This leaves us still with a very strong central and defensive midfield; we ought to see ourselves being linked with wide players.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 No one can deny this board are stupidly slow signing players. Cortese wasn't overly fast at sealing deal's but these guys are amateurish at best.
hypochondriac Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 So then, looks pretty certain we are getting two loans in of dubious quality. Everything looks so short term and until we get evidence to the contrary, surely it's not so ridiculous to assume that the French article is right and we are being sold?
Olallana Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 So let´s go over some of the rumoured players and where they are. Chicarito, Zaha and Young are all in US at the moment so they won't be announced anytime soon (as in the coming 3-4 days) cause I don't see us rush them over here in a plane. Van Dijk and Forster play the second leg in CL on wednesday so they won't either, likewise any possible player from Feyenoord. Rodwell, anyone knows if he´s with Man City in the US or not? Are the Inter guys also over there with their squad?

I'm excited about Taider tbf but, yeah, I'm pretty sure Kat is willing to sell even if she isn't actively looking for a buyer.
Donatello Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 What's with all these new 1 posters all of a sudden ? Weird, right? Do they really do it just for kicks?
CB Saint Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Good to see the squawkers out in force because we didn't sign anyone today.

hypochondriac Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 I'm excited about Taider tbf but, yeah, I'm pretty sure Kat is willing to sell even if she isn't actively looking for a buyer. Signs are not pointing to investment really are they.
ratio_decidendi Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 As with the Bertrand loan, I wouldn't be surprised if there's another signing that just flies in completely under the radar. Doesn't mean we definitely won't get the already touted targets - it seems like this Schelotto guy is a dead cert.
kazza Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 It does make you wonder if some deals have collapsed as Ronald did say 2-3 deals by the weekend!!

Just so long as I don't see Clyne, on the opponents 18yd line hold his arms out in the universal signal of not knowing what to do next, AGAIN!
Saint Charlie Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 (edited) So then, looks pretty certain we are getting two loans in of dubious quality. Everything looks so short term and until we get evidence to the contrary, surely it's not so ridiculous to assume that the French article is right and we are being sold? We have a great scouting and recruitment team led by Paul Mitchell and over 20 scouts across Europe compiling detailed reports on many players. It must just be coincidental that we are sending Osvaldo to Inter who happen to have two of our top targets, players that we have tracked for 2 years and have identified as the talent needed to replace all our best players. Saints foreva Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 It does make you wonder if some deals have collapsed as Ronald did say 2-3 deals by the weekend!! Didn't he say he hoped to have 2-3 deals done by the weekend?
Batman Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 The press pass today hinted that we are in real trouble and that the accidental owner really has no interest in football. the general consensus with some of the press guys that they would be amazed if we were not in the bottom 4 come may not that it means a great deal but that is the perception outside of this board

I think so far the words of the board have not tallied with their actions and the longer we go on without making significant signings of quality players, the more likely it is that the board is taking us for mugs.

Just so long as I don't see Clyne, on the opponents 18yd line hold his arms out in the universal signal of not knowing what to do next, AGAIN! Hmm not sure that is true. I would argue that the fan and media reaction after the chambers sale meant that Ralph came out, did a u turn on the Morgan and Jay rod sale and gave us some reassurances. Whilst I agree that fans have much less power than they use to, the board have to keep the fans onside to an extent so we clearly do have some power to affect change.

I think so far the words of the board have not tallied with their actions and the longer we go on without making significant signings of quality players, the more likely it is that the board is taking us for mugs. Problem is we really don't know, nor are we likely ever to, what business SFC are trying to complete, what has failed for them or anything - all we will see are the deals that make it 'over the line'. Without knowing the full story, any judgements you make can only ever be based on part of the story - so just stick to observations instead eh?
S-Clarke Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 That explains it, you're a talksport listener. ..
hypochondriac Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Fixed it for you. It's probably the perception of more than one person tbf. Not sure why anyone would think otherwise at the moment given our departures so far.
hypochondriac Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 It does make you wonder if some deals have collapsed as Ronald did say 2-3 deals by the weekend!! Schelotto and Tadier is two.
Batman Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 That explains it, you're a talksport listener. I listen to a lot of radio I posted a snippet the other week about a player who was not reported in the media at the time who wanted out. His agent said as such without naming him it was of course, roundly dismissed etc. a week later, chambers was 'ill' and then signs for arsenal if you piece enough together from various journo's, agents and commentators, there is plenty of truth in there

BlakeySFC Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Presumably when RK was talking about the 2-3 deals by the weekend, 2 of those were Taider and Schelotto and they've obviously taken longer than expected. No idea who the other was/is that we're hoping to sign though.
Batman Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 So that means you believe Talksport? did I say that? I am saying, you listen to what they say along with others on various stations, you find out that they are not that far off from the truth their opinion on where we will finish is another matter but they have not been too far from telling us there will be a player exodus, which was first reported in january. Of course, that was nothing other than cortese messing with the club via the media. or some daft shyt
hypochondriac Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 So that means you believe Talksport? Bit of an odd thing to say. What do you mean by believing Talksport? There are a number of people on that station including idiots, journalists, pundits etc. Would be a bit odd to dismiss everything on Talksport simply because they happen to be on that station just as it would be the wrong thing to believe everything on there.
del boy Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 if you piece enough together from various journo's, agents and commentators..... The answer is usually 5
charliemiller Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Schelotto and Tadier is two. They are not signings they are Loans , I am more concerned by that to be honest ....and we can dress it up however we like but they are not exceptional quality either . Still very concerned until we actually buy players rather than taking another teams cast offs.
Batman Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 The answer is usually 5 I would agree but since january, they (the various commentators in the media) have not been far wrong. Despite comments like this not so long ago, the rumours about loads of players leaving was nothing but cortese messing with the club. yet it all happened
hypochondriac Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 I would agree but since january, they (the various commentators in the media) have not been far wrong. Despite comments like this not so long ago, the rumours about loads of players leaving was nothing but cortese messing with the club. yet it all happened That meltdown article from the Mirror in January was widely derided on here and Alex Crook was called all sorts, yet he was entirely accurate over this.
Giordano Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 So then, looks pretty certain we are getting two loans in of dubious quality. Everything looks so short term and until we get evidence to the contrary, surely it's not so ridiculous to assume that the French article is right and we are being sold? I think that sums it up pretty much. I believe that in life you are either IN or you are OUT. If you don't know which one you are then you are OUT. KL and the Saints Board are totally OUT. Until she goes we will be going nowhere except downwards doing nothing treading water waiting til we get an ambitious owner. Even if Ronald proves a miracle worker it's meaningless because if anything it raises the price and rules out even more buyers. By ambitious by the way I mean sportingly ambitious not just ambitious to be even wealthier and get shot of this bothersome inheritance ~ as KL is. Long game it may be, but it's a game all the same. And SFC and it's support are the pieces and the pawns respectively.

If you don't like the owners, why don't you buy it?

Indeed and the reason that Ralph struggled to articulate any new five year plan the other week was because he knew they weren't going to be there then.
Saint Charlie Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Spurs set to sign a 17m centre back whilst we sold ours. Surely nobody still questions why Pochettino left and the fact Spurs are a class above us?
Saint Charlie Posted 3 August, 2014 Posted 3 August, 2014 Indeed and the reason that Ralph struggled to articulate any new five year plan the other week was because he knew they weren't going to be there then. That was funny. Yeah we have some great plans but will tell you later. After September it will be "judge us in the summer" etc etc.
