Tamesaint Posted 2 August, 2014 Share Posted 2 August, 2014 So lets get this right Batman. At 4.07pm you reckon that Player move for money. Pure and simple but at 11.44 am apparently We won't sign either vlaar or rojo IMO Why on earth would vlaar leave a bigger club where is is the main man. err.. couldit be because of money perhaps ??? Or is it because Villa won the League 6 times before the First World War so that makes them an enormous club in your eyes ? Have you ever played the game Twister per chance ?? The way that you can change your arguments so quickly makes me think you would be excellent at it.

5string Posted 2 August, 2014 Share Posted 2 August, 2014 May be it is a better way to convince players to move from a bigger club to us because it is not permanent. It is lower risk for them. Certainly better than getting players in and promising them Champions League football when we have zero hope of achieving it. I agree. Also provides them with an incentive: to play well and aim for CL the following year, after a good season, at which time Saints could make the most of the buy-in option. Window Cleaner Posted 2 August, 2014 Share Posted 2 August, 2014 Spurs tactics revealed: pressing game, tika taka, no plan B And a 6-1 win to boot. Effe Ambrose sent off for Celtic, that makes 2 from 2 for him doesn't it.
washsaint Posted 2 August, 2014 Share Posted 2 August, 2014 Batman/Delldays/Jamie has become a parody. First of all he says 14th through 8th is much of a muchness then says the 8th through 4th are of a different class. Thereby grouping 8th in both brackets! Then says Villa are a bigger club than us because they've won the League, finished runners up, etc. So by his deformed logic that means Portsouth, preston and others are bigger clubs than us. How anyone could argue that we are not a bigger club right now than Villa is beyond me. We finished 8th last season, our Academy continues to churn out new talent, we have had the truly big clubs taking all of our talent (how many bids did Villa get Batman?) and we have had a far better pre-season than Villa and have made the Tadic and Pelle signings whereas Villa have signed the likes of Joe Cole. Add to that we have Koeman ( a true legend in the game) as manager and they have Paul Lambert. You couldn't make it up...............
ratio_decidendi Posted 2 August, 2014 Share Posted 2 August, 2014 People wonder why we're not signing players. Just look at yourselves, these threads, the insults, the total garbage on what is supposed to be SFC's biggest fans forum. Maybe current players don't bother, but players we're hoping to sign, their agents, friends and family members do and report back what they see. Players have official fan pages, twitters and Facebook as well as personal accounts. No need to insult them. Patience is very much in short supply amongst many. The thing is that Southampton fans aren't any different from the fans of other teams. Although I don't condone some of the behaviour, it's hardly a disincentive for millionaire players looking for another big pay day (nor are their friends or agents going to say anything differently - they know the reality of the business they operate in). A Southampton fan or something? Villa must be bigger than the Saints as they won the League 6 times before 1910 - a pity that nobody is still alive who witnessed those historic feats. They won the FA Cup 6 times don't you know before the 1930's. Why would Ron Vlaar leave Villa when they have history like that ?? The only club that I can see Vlaar leaving Villa for is Wanderers who won the FA Cup 6 times in 9 years in the 1870's. Now that is a truly big club. SuperMikey Posted 2 August, 2014 Share Posted 2 August, 2014 In terms if achievements at the top level?? Fuking hell!!!! Villa are 7 times title winners 7 times FA cup winners 5 times league cup winners 1 times European cup winners 1 times European super cup winners Have been in the top flight far lingers Bigger crowds over the years Higher rate of being runners up Yeah, about the same as our cup win.!!!! Historically, they're far bigger. But recently? Not too much difference imo. I think that's what matters to a player, Villa have been on the decline for a while.
