This has to be a good omen. I was just going thru the playlists on my own Youtube site when in the midst this terrific video on Van Dikj appeared in the midst."Schotten lyrisch over Virgil van Dijk - RTV Noord"

We have to sign this guy. Seems to be a class player as well as a top block. If we do we're going to break the hearts of Celtic fans.

Sounds like he is hacked off at the way the whole situation has been handled it comes down to poor communication to the players from boardroom level.

Sounds like a pile of ****. He's not going anywhere. Last I heard, he was favourite to be team captain.

When the hell are we going to get some good news. I am losing more and more faith in our board every day. Seem to be totally hopeless.

So now we have Fonte linked away aswell as Lovren , Osvaldo , Ramirez , Morgan , J Rod and Chambers. Hopefully just paper talk but we certainly haven't managed to stem the media negative frenzy against our club.

Then we go in with mickey mouse offers for potential targets which points to the Saints board being totally incompetent imo. I don't expect them to go in at full asking price but i do expect them not to totally insult the other teams and get their backs up

We are currently having the worst window of any premiership side by a country mile . Still plenty of time to change but board need to land one of these signings to change the whole mood and perception about the club really soon and not a couple of weeks as we keep getting told. Will they still be quoting 2 weeks on 30th August!!! Currently losing the faith more and more by the day and have absolutely no confidence in the board landing our unrealistic targets like Rojo , De Vrij and Clasie. Hope they shove my major doubts right back down my throat but i doubt it

Hold fire. We have sold three players and replaced two of them. I bet anything Cork and Fonte will sign on and we are looking at bringing in 4-5 more players. Lovren will leave but I'm sure we'll keep the rest. Keep the faith and don't believe everything put in the rags.

Calm down and don't be fooled by all the internet clickbait rumourmongering. Even when it's potentially good news.

Don't be such a wet fanny. The club aren't going to sign a player just for the sake of it, this is a long-term project.

Any chance of a signing today? It's two weeks since our last signing but nothing seems close at the moment. I think I'm a football junkie and a new player sorts me out for a week or so before I demand the next one! I should be enjoying the sun I suppose.....

I think one of the areas where concern is growing is the fact players who have been offered new contracts ie Rodriguez, Fonte and presumably Cork are stalling and with Schneiderlin and Lovren being lined up for an exit that is a hell of a lot of uncertainty with the new season looming. RK is a good manager but he too has to find his feet in the world's most competitive league where "settling-in" time will be at a premium.

No genuine first teamers have signed new contracts since Cortese left in fact.

Really tough job for RK, would imagine he will be getting a little frustrated with the lack of incomings too. The squad he has worked with in most of pre season is certainly a lower half one.

Koeman is considering a 8m bid for Vlaar lol. In retailing Saints seem to be what is classed as ice cream lickers, tyre kickers, ticket turners, and time wasters. They look but have little intention of buying, or when they ask for a price they run a mile. If we are still only considering a bid then boy are we in trouble

it seems to e that we had a transfer committee. They should have realised we needed 3-5 players at the end of the season before the 3left. In turn they should have had a list of replacements ready for when Koeman arrived and put it in front of him and said, so take your pick. If we are still only CONSIDERING making a bid then we are a joke. I notice spurs are after him now (according to the press) if so another bites the dust, if ever we were going to actually make the bid

considering we have 20+ scouts around the world and we constantly have players (and managers) very much watched all the time. I am amazed how long we are taking in getting new players in

we needed players before the 3 left.

disaapointing

Do people understand the difference between buying players that their clubs want to hold on to or buying players that they wanna sell. In FM language "players that are transfer listed"

We´re looking at players that their clubs want to hold on to, then it´s basically two choices you have. Overpay or be patient and negotiate.

Man United and Liverpool choose that first choice, to overpay for Lallana and Shaw (Lambert a whole different story). The transfer window closes 31 august (or if its first weekday in september) so its still 5 weeks left to make business. Ideally you want players in early but then you have to overpay or settle with lesser quality.

And at the moment we´re looking at players from clubs that in the upcoming two weeks are involved in Champions League qualification so it´s very unlikely they´re ready to sell before that even if we meet their asking price.

Not a hard concept to understand people?

I find it ****ing incredible that people really believe it is a simple choice to get transfers done quickly.

Try factoring in players who want to wait to see what clubs come in, clubs who want to wait and see who becomes available once other moves take place, players who are kicking up a fuss to generate interest, world cup where the whole process starts later. Clubs that need to hold onto a player until some money comes in or another transfer completes so that they appease the fans.

Generally the only clubs after higher level quality players that can snap their fingers and buy immediately are the big big teams. This is because in the case of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man Utd, the players know they want to go there for definite, the wages are superb, the club has limitless funds. It really is common sense.

Once the whole carousel starts to move we just like everyone else will be able to complete deals on some of these top players. We are second or even third choice to most of our preferred targets I expect, we are lucky to have the two in we already do and that is because of their relations to and impressions of Koeman. Elsewhere it isn't as simple, if we want the best we need to have some patience.

It really isn't that easy to complete transfers, so I can't see us getting our business done until the end of the window when we will already be bottom of the league. My other concern is that Reed and co are spending too much time sorting out transfers for Lovren, Osvaldo and Schneiderlin, rather than bringing players in.

If we were bottom it would be the same for several other teams for sure. So you think we will lose to liverpool, WBA, and West Ham. There are also only 3 games before the window closes…

Two things about this video. Firstly Van Dijk needs to keep both hands on the steering wheel and to be told that it is a punishable offence driving and using a mobile phone at the same time. He might get away with it on the road to their training camp, when all he risks is hitting a deer. but on the way to our training camp, he would be at risk of hitting an Esso petrol tanker. Secondly, it is all very well having a transaltion for the benefit of the Dutch audience. But they also need the comments from the Scots translated into English so that we can understand it too.

This is why I wish the transfer window closed a week before the season starts. Clubs seem to rely until the end of the window to get transfers in. In previous seasons that would have been fine for us, but now it's not. We need a decent start to the season what with the fixture list in December/January.

We needed at least 3 before we lost Shaw, Lambert and Lallana. It will be a big struggle next season.

of course we have six weeks to consider, no pressure there. Transfers dont happen overnight , no it takes ages RL and AL must be off soon surely when are they going to sign, oh yes it takes ages for clubs not wanting to sell to get the deal done......oh

What will be will be..........

If by the start of the season will still in the same situation as we are now then the football club have a strong case for questions to be answered.

My opinion is the World Cup has helped no one in the summer transfer market

Just a lot of rehashes across the interweb this morning.

Vlaar (in the negative)

Van Dijk (rumour rehash)

De Vrij (rumour rehash, us and ManUre)

Classie (rumour rehash)

Forster (looking good for 9m, rehash)

Redmond (claims 3.5m turned down, 6.5m will secure the move)

But its 9, on Friday. Who knows what will happen today!?! W00t.

Then in this case your bed wetting serves no purpose.
oh a forum where people voice their opinions, you call it bedwetting, dont you think it a bit childish? It is a different opinion to your own and you cant cope with that. I can see a deterioration of the club I follow and point it out. In your inability to argue your point you have to throw playground names. A bit like the Pompey fans have to shout scummer, a nonsense term and very low brow. Go on doing it, it just shows you up

I know we keep our cards close to our chest but stories due generally seem to leak out from the countries in which we trying to get players from. The Dutch press had plenty of stories of our interest in Tadic and Pelle. Also plenty of reports from Scotland last summer concerning the Wanyama deal. However, things seems very quiet at the moment but hopefully we'll be able to get some good deals done.
