Transfer Rumours Only

I do remember Lallana stating in an interview that the players had a pact about not being the first one to break up the group. Who knows what he meant by that and what the implications were.

Look how that worked out, he really was the first to kick off about going.

With Craig Gordon at Celtic it looks like they'll be selling Forster at some point before the end of the transfer window. I'm sure we can wait.

I'd rather we spent £9m on Forster than £6m on Marshall.

Let's hope for either a big Celtic win or loss tonight in their Champions League qualifier, then we'll get Forster otherwise I think it'll be after the second leg next week

Rojo and Vlaar would mean a great LB, a solid CB with Fonte and another emergency CB. But signing Van Dijk as well would mean excellent CB options. Sign those 3 and the keeper and we're defensively sorted IMO.

That's the part of the team to sort ASAP and get playing together from day 1 hopefully.

Very much this. I think those would be outstanding additions right now.

From my brief foray on Google and YouTube he very much looks like a central midfielder...

I get the feeling that Koeman will be playing with one midfielder sitting deep in a defensive role with the other two further forward. All will be playing centrally. The front 3 will include the two wide players and one central striker.

Not seen us play live yet but that is the impression I get too. In that case I would suspect having Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Cork, Davis, Ward-Prowse, and Reed is a good rotation there - two players for every position.

Unless one leaves of course...

For some reason, I can't shake the feeling that we may let Cork go and invest in a new midfielder. Just an instinct, so nothing substantial in there (except maybe the fact Jack hasn't been offered a new contract and we've been linked with Taider etc.) ...

@tancredipalmeri: Southampton have accepted to swap Osvaldo for Inter's Taider, according to Gazzetta. Not clear if it's a loan swap. To be announced soon

Anyone seen the white smoke yet? made me smile that quote last night regarding this deal. Looks decent and hopefully we will get more out of him than we did out of Captain Jack

@tancredipalmeri: For Saints fan asking: Taider is a CM pretty decent on a physical and tactical level, with lot of potential and that deserved more trust

May signal the end for Cork?

I'd be very happy with that if it was a permanent deal. Don't really want any loan deals though.

Thats from FM13 and the 2012/13 season. Keep up, Tokyo-Saint! :p

Are you going to be out of a job MLG? I mean the way the side's shaping up, you'll know practically next to nothing about the new side ;)

You must be raging that all the ratings updates you've done for our best players are for the benefit of other teams now

The more players we sell, the less work there is for me to do for FM15. #everycloud

The Dutch journalist on talkSPORT was Marcel van der Kraan.

Following on from that, van der Kraan thinks Koeman is the man to sort Saints out.

He says that he spoke to Koeman after he joined Saints (they have a close relationship as VDK is a Feyenoord fan and reporter), and that Ronald told him he was perfectly aware of numerous potential departures. He said that Les explained who would go, and who might then become unsettled, but Ronald still wanted Southampton.

He was told by his own people that if he waited, West Ham and Newcastle would likely become available and reignite an interest in securing his services, but he wanted to go to Southampton because he liked the challenge that was presented, of rebuilding the side as the club goes through a restructuring process. He really wanted to lead this club - especially due to the notoriety of our academy both in the United Kingdom and in Europe.

He said the next few weeks will see how Koeman's season will go, but Ronald and Erwin have nothing but respect for the club and they are 100% determined to make things work out at Saints, regardless of how difficult the situation may have become. He says it won't put Ronald out of his stride.

He says they have a good network and are working on a number of deals. He is certain Tadić will step up and impress us, and thinks Pellè can too.

He also said that he knows Ronald well enough to know that any tweeted photos of the training ground would not be humorous, because he has too much respect for his club and his employers to every bring a joke upon them. Said he can be sarcastic and amusing now and then, but he wouldn't do something like that on social media for laughs.

That is very encouraging.......seems like Reed was brutally honest with him and that is a good starting point for a relationship based on trust.

I truly believe we may have found ourselves a great manager who is not going to be stirring the s**t (like Pochettino) and won't jump ship at the earliest opportunity.

At least Koeman gets to build his own team.

Haven't we been linked to Taider before, couple of years back perhaps.

Yeah, we were. Took a look when we were pursing Gaston, they were both @ Bolonga together. He's one that's been on our radar for a bit I think, same as Redmond, Forster.

Feyenoord close to signing a winger from Heerenveen......

Bõethius leaving....??...

Perhaps but Feyenoord have lost a couple of players this summer already, normal that they sign a few replacements. Anyway if we sign Taider we don't need any more wide players, Tadic is wide man i think, or at least he was against Bournemouth.

In fact I found a tribal football article linking us to him when MP was still manager, estimated a fee of about 5 million £ in that.

unlikley as I heard on talk sport he is having contract talks with Villa this weekend.

Currently in Holland n vacation, he will return to UK at the weekend where he will meet up with his agent to discuss Koeman and Saint's offer. He and his agent will then meet with Lambert to talk over his future, any contract extension on offer from Villa.

Have we actually put a offer in for him?

Any idea on price
