Transfer Rumours Only

Recommended Posts

I have seen what I want to see because this rumour was posted on another thread yesterday (which you responded to by the way) and you have chosen to run it again here with the Delldays spin on it.

What spin?

All I said was (on a rumour thread)...

Wanyama to arsenal

Ok, what I will do from now on (on the actual rumour thread) I will prefix any posts (on the rumour thread) with a heading called "RUMOUR"

Just so it's clear I don't have an agenda or spin when posting a rumour and a link (on a rumour thread)

Does that make this clear?

Or, how about, from now on. When someone posts a link on say, the transfer rumour thread. Titling the link with say "wanyama to arsenal" you take it as read that it is a rumour (again, on the transfer rumour thread)

Im not the biggest fan of Batman, but what he wrote was fine. Nothing wrong with it.

Has been, like this thread, very quiet last few days. I think we are just two players away from a really decent squad. Depends if Boruc leaves though.

A right /Cnetre back

A winger

and if Boruc leaves a gk.

Koeman said again post match that we want another attacking player, probably a winger.

I think we need a winger and another striker personally as if we play Long and Pelle whilst J Rod is injured we will have no striker to bring off the bench. We still need a couple more attacking options but reckon we will only get one but we shall see

We looked cack with both Long and Pelle on the pitch, at least using a 4-3-3. They looked like a poor man's version of the Lambert and Osvaldo dilemma we failed to resolve last season. Long struggled on the right hand side. Unless Long plays behind Pelle, effectively in the hole or we go to a diamond, very hard to see how the two would start - in other words, we would still have striking options from the bench. A right winger is the priority.

Long's got to get beyond Pelle. If not Long then one of the midfielders. I would have brought on Cork for JWP and pushed MS further forward, though WBA played deep and Saints' build up was slow so it was difficult.

But has he missed any chances? That's the biggest problem. We need to create stuff for him and right now we aren't.

This. Yes he was behind the pace, and we've got to hope he gets to grips with it (and fast). He has the attributes to succeed (accepting his first touch isn't a patch on Lambert's) but he needs chances. In fairness, Ollson is a man mountain so it wasn't easy today.

It might seem overly charitable but what option do we have, bench an 8m purchase? He needs time to adapt.

He doesn't seem to have the movement to allow his team mates to make chances for him.

The one where Foster was out of his goal and Bertrand crossed - he made no space for himself

Well that was poor. Those bellends jeering Pelle need to cough off, that really isn't going to help our plight.

If you look at how we set up nobody played within 20 yds of him and he never had a chance. He does look a bit off the pace but that will come but we are not creating anything as our 4 5 1 is so defensive it is unreal.

To bring Long on and play him in the manner he did and then to not even throw bodies forward at the end certainly tops Pochs no plan B.

There are too many defensive midfield players in the line up and Ward Prowse just proved my point that he doesn't have a creative side to his game and isn't good enough.

if i was Les Reed right now i woukd probably try and buy Rickie Lambert, maybe start with a 12 million bid. id be on my knees begging him to come back. how the **** can we sell SRL for 4 million and buy pelle for the best part of 9? ****ing madness

Selling Lambert for 4 and paying 9 for Pelle is beginning to look like utter madness.

I thought offloading Lambert would give us a chance to have more movement up front but we've actually managed to find someone less mobile.

I can see why your name is wild-saint, but deranged-saint would be more appropiate. Thank God you're not Les Reed. Do you think that we should not have allowed Ricky to have his swan-song at his boyhood club after everything he did for us?

Anyone that thought we'd have clicked right away with all these new players up top must be mad. Give them a break. I'm just thankful we look solid at the back. If we sneak a few 1-0's in the early part of the season I'll be chuffed, and gradually we'll start to click up front. Anyone criticising Pelle now is going to look pretty foolish in 2 months time I reckon.

This. Pretty solid start, and we will improve. No doubts. Give the guys a chance. As they used to say "Rome wasn't built in a day!" and we've had a whole new rebuild to do. Keep the faith

Ok , but Ralf did say we would spend all the transfer money in. Lol I expect he would be bought for 5-8 m now

What does IIRC mean?

If I remember correctly. Yeah, my problem is that he seems to be a player that is difficult to defend against at first because he has a strange style but can be thwarted easily once defences get used to him. Admittedly this impression is just from the Football League Show so I am by no means claiming to be some sort of expert...

I have to say i'm disappointed but not surprised people are writing off Pelle after two games, those very same people slated J-Rod, Lallana and even JWP yesterday for not being instant hits. Time will tell but booing the lad is just plain daft. For what it's worth i'd like to see Sinclair and Micah Richards but i can't see the latter being interested.

Although nowhere near as bad as yesterday but we have struggled to break teams down at SMS since being back in PL. We have lacked creative player with pace for a long time. It is even more evident now because we have new players still trying to adapt. Koeman was well prepared for that performance. He knows we are better suited playing away until we get a winger in. Not liking the long ball crap to a player that right now resembles more like a donkey than a professional footballer. The sooner we get Jrod back the better.

Some of the names people are suggesting just arent of the quality needed, especially if yoy want someone to consistently create and score at PL level.

Ok fair but which proven premiership quality wingers can we a) afford and b) entice to join us ?

We all know we are not shopping in the top market so we may have to either gamble on potential or settle for a flawed player, Memphis Depay is not likely to be coming our way.

How about Zaha on loan? Not perfect but got plenty about him and could develop well at the club. A 'loan to buy' arrangement could be decent business.
