that home match against Liverpool our debut season back , will always remember that first half when we played them off the park and played the ball off Gerrards feet. He looked past it and desperately slow then and that was coming up 2 years ago

Clearly I don't know as much about football as most folk but I genuinely have never really understood the whole Rooney phenomina

He clearly wasnt a total failure, after Scholes he was the best midfielder we have had for ages, how many games did we go unbeaten when he came into the side ?

 

He played ok at Liverpool there, they got too reliant and he was tired at the end IMO but they played 3 cms, thats what we should have done. Not Gerrard and Henderson IMO

 

Ive now never known an England side with such a poor midfield
