sidthesquid Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Good to see Bartosz Bilakowski starting to move back up the leagues. Always had promise - two good seasons in League One and his career is going forward again. At 27 he still has a chance to get back to the top. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28312843
Wrensup Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 I'm happy for him! Always thought he was good, just had a massive confidence crisis and didn't feet a chance to build himself back up.
Colinjb Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Ipswich, he had already played there on loan so he should be able to settle quickly. Good luck to him.
Badger Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Surprised to be honest - seeing some snippets of L1 matches on various round ups and there were several goals conceded where the old polite phrase "could have done better" sprung to mind. Lighthouse Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Good to see. I don't really understand why we let him go then spent £2m on Gazzanigga, they both seem a similar standard to me. Personally I thought he was better than Kelvin but it was always difficult for him with so little playing time.

Lighthouse Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 You weren't at Blakpool at home in the Championship then ? I was actually. I was at QPR and Preston at home in 2006 too. I didn't go to Sheffield Weds or Preston away in 2007 though, I missed those games.

Badger Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Re the Blackpool game - it was evident that BB had simply lost his nerve, and was too much of a risk. He should have been replaced in the January window (my own hope was for a No 1 to take over from him and KD , but it never happened, and we were still paying the price for that last season). QPR at home, and Preston as I recall were far from KD's finest moments.
Saints foreva Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Shame how it worked out for him here. His performance in the 6-0 away win against Wolves was unbelievable.

Pancake Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 There were odd rumours back then that he didn't like training with players of a certain, er, skin tone.
Bailey Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Bialkowski is a good 'keeper with lots of potential, but his nerves always used to get the better of him at Saints. Not sure if it's common knowledge, but he asked to be dropped for THAT playoff semi-final at Pride Park because he couldn't handle the pressure. For that reason alone, I don't think he'll ever make it back to the Premier League.
Ohio Saint Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 I hope he does really well. Who can ever forget that blinding spell he had in that year that I can't remember in those games that I can't quite recall. Honestly though, I hope he does well. he was very good for that spell, whenever it was.
SaintAndy14 Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Always liked Bart. Hope as he gets older and more experienced he can get back to the top as clearly has the ability.

SuperSAINT Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Always pleasing to people like him progress. Think he picked the right club at the right level and is ready for the step up. This is why I'd loan Gazza out this year - If we get him to a club where he will play every game it will benefit him massively IMO.
bpsaint Posted 15 July, 2014 Share Posted 15 July, 2014 Was a really good prospect up until that 1st play off leg against Derby, and then never seemed the same player since. Fair play to him though seems he has turned his career around in the past couple of years.
