Saints Pre Season Thread

They should be low. Club are way behind expectations with signings at this moment in time.

Yes, not going as well as we were led to believe last weekend. Two loanees, no transfer money spent. I wasn't going to go, but curiosity has taken over from my standard preseason optimism!

all a bit of a let down

we had a thin squad last season and now we go into the final pre season friendly without even replacing ALL that we decided we HAD to sell

let alone address the weaknesses in the squad, really

yet ralph goes one about how exciting we will be come #septemberONE

Well I'm going and looking forward to it the end of the day I go to watch 11 vs 11 on the pitch who ever those 11 are wearing saints shirts they get my support....

Indeed, heaven forbid we enjoy watching Saints play.

Reasonably-priced tickets, strong opposition and the first opportunity to welcome the new lads to St. Mary's. I'm looking forward to a decent evening.

This^ Catch up with some mates, watch Saints win and have a few jars afterwards. Makes more sense then sitting at home worrying over a keyboard.

You may be right, advanced ticket sales have been low apparently, hoping for a good walk-up. At least the weather looks pretty good now so should see it creep up over 10k.

I'm hoping to go with my daughter and her family. It will be the first time at St Marys for the two youngsters, five o'clock kick off isn't it?

yep your choice, they just love customers like you who just take it and say nothing. Football seems to be unique with customers like that

As opposed to saddoes who spend all day whining on a forum? I'll think of you as I'm cheering on my team this season.

Then dont go - take up golf and moan about how some billionaire isnt maintaining the greens to your satisfaction.
I havent had a S/T for 3 seasons (including the current one) i wish I liked to pay golf, I prefer to hit balls and get someone else to chase it thanks

It is indeed Whitey - why they didn't make it 3pm I don't know, a 7pm finish isn't ideal if you're planning a Saturday night out.

Wonder how many Bayer fans will turn up, they've got an impressive vocal support by all accounts.

Lol the im a better fan line. I love those, there must be the follow up 'how many away games did you go to last season' or 'Did you buy the new kit'

As for whining, it is whining if it's a different opinion to you. IMO at present the fans have been misled

I'm the sad fan according to you. So it's you that started the 'I'm a better fan' line.

Whatever happened to the last home friendly fun day. Some seemed to like that IIRC.

i didnt call you a sad fan, i said sadly. I was merely pointing out that fans who turn up whatever are the victims of the people who run football clubs. i have been one of those fans over the years and so im not on a higher plain.

Thanks, we shall need to turn up early anyway as the intention is to kit out the two kiddies and I suppose granddad will be paying :)

Last year only 10,000 turned up at St Mary's for the final big pre season game. Hope tomorrow we have half that number to send out a strong message the supporters aren't fools and expect the club pull their finger out. The squad is beginning to look like the remnants of an illegal European immigrant team.

it's not even factual really, who do we have from outside the EU now, Tadic and Maya, that's about it isn't it. Taider is French you know, plays for Algeria, probably because he isn't good enough for France but then few are really. Oh yes forgot Victor, but he's a commonwealth citizen all the same.
