Quick question do you guys think that there is any significant rivalry between Saints and the Cherries?

I see the AFC Bournemouth fans like to relate to us as 'Stains' on their forum

Personally, I was only brought to the fact that there was this supposed rivalry when playing against them on a game of Fifa and the commentator then telling me so! But considering there really hasn't been much said about it on here compared to the Cherries forums, my guess is it's a rivalry only they consider?

Here's a link to a thread where they are discussing it: http://www.bournemouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=64624&start=1

there was when we were in the same division for a season, they got all uppety and decided they were a serious local rival to us. Then we sort of crushed them at Dean Court

and it died away a bit. We even started calling them Bompey for a while. Oh yes and they accused us of trying to filch their manager.

It appears to be quite a one sided rivalry. A bit like England's rivalry with Germany, who are largely indifferent to us but instead have a big rivalry with Holland.

I remember them coming to SMS in league one. Got to Southampton central and the station was done up tighter than a virgins pussy by the local plod. All very confusing after the match their fans were marched back to the station under police escort, while giving it the big one, the whole thing was bizzare frankly.

as a heads up to anyone heading to the game, the traffic is already fecked on the a31, and it's only going to get worse...

I work in Chilworth and the M27 heading west from here doesn't look too clever either. Leaving work at 3.30pm so hopefully there won't be so many New Forest/beach day trippers to contend with by then. Google Maps gives a traffic-adjusted journey time of 1 hour rather than 40 minutes so it shouldn't be too traumatic.

Be good to see our lot given a proper workout. Also interested to see whether Bournemouth fans still have delusions over being our rivals.

The a31 is pretty much solid from Cadnam to Ringwood and WOn;t ease up as it's the day everyone fecks off down here for the school holidays.

I'd come off at jct1 for cadnam, head up towards bramshaw and cut across stoney cross, down past the high corner inn and red shoot and pop out on the a338 and go in that way.

That's what I thought, scenic route and all that. Do they still do draught Löwenbrau at the Red Shoot Inn, guess not, it was a long time ago. Remember the scorching summer of 76, was commuting from Winfrith to Chandlers Ford, dropped by the RSI every evening, sank 2LBs and felt a whole lot better about myself. Until Her indoors started moaning about it of course.

May do just that, ta for the advice. Assumed people would've been heading off on holiday Wednesday/yesterday as schools broke up midweek.

Any radio commentary? Just checked online but Solent have some Tony Blackburn special listed. My nipper wants to listen to the game in bed. I'd let him stay up and watch it but he's got his first football tournament tomorrow and has to be in best condition to impress the watching scouts.

How long until our first moron fan starts laying into him on twitter?

Who knows, hopefully it's just a coincidence that he's not in the group for tonight's game after the Twitter rumours exposed here this afternoon. Little injury or something.

However if he should be sold to the Arse or anyone else for that matter it would be better to really start laying into the board or the owner, take your pick. For me it would be the one sale too many.

Kenya I expect, more disconcerting no Chambers....

If we sell Chambers.. I will not be a happy bunny. I haven't gotten angry with the selling of players yet and kept faith, but that one might be the straw to break the camels back. :(

look how ruddy poor that bench is

True. We are weaker than when we came up IMO.

So what's happened? You were adamant we would be better off under Kat and her merry band....

This place is like Max Frisch's 'Beidermann und die Brandstifter' - an utter refusal to believe the sh it that is happening despite the blatantly obvious signs. We are not selling because we have to... Kat is selling because she wants to...

Totally agree, unless we have 5 quality replacements lined up.. but its more in hope than expectation

How's your protest campaign going? Plenty of bravado about "not being complicit" in what is going on, "not standing for it" and similar such grandstanding.

That was a couple of weeks ago so your "not being complicit" action campaign must be up and running now.

So what have you done then?

With such determination not to be complicit, it can't be that you've done absolutely f uck ing nothing, can it?
