Saint Charlie Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 You can't be suggesting that's the club's fault I'm not. Not at all. Just a shame.
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 What a total shame it has come to this. Our best ever season has led to us hating the team who made it possible.
Crab Lungs Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 What a total shame it has come to this. Our best ever season has led to us hating the team who made it possible. Yeah, and a lot of it avoidable.
hypochondriac Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 ''This deal is a good one for Southampton Football Club, and hopefully sends a clear message to other clubs wishing to bid for our players.'' “Dejan's transfer fee will be reinvested into the team as our new manager, Ronald Koeman, builds for the new season and for years to come.” CEO Gareth Rogers commented: “Dejan's transfer to Liverpool is yet another endorsement of the great work undertaken at our club and by the staff at Southampton Football Club. “We can now move forward and continue to invest in the future of our club.” Oh do f*ck off saints.
Gemmel Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Yeah, and a lot of it avoidable. Not one transfer was avoidable
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Oh do f*ck off saints. I was just re-writing the Shaw statement for what it's worth. But we didn't even get a statement, just a 2 sentence job in the end.
Baird of the land Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 on the OS Southampton Football Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Liverpool over the transfer of Dejan Lovren. The defender, who joined Saints last summer on a four-year contract, departs for a significant fee after negotiations with the Anfield club. Read more at http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/27072014-statement-dejan-lovren-liverpool-1785945.aspx#sDSDVub9xpZ503QE.99 Yeah that's some statement right there.
Batman Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Not one transfer was avoidable if chambers and jrod go, they are very much avoidable
LaptopSaint Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Frankly he can f*ck off. Didn't want him here after his petulant self-indulgent *rsebiscuit outburst, and I hope he fails miserably. Would be nice to see one or two coming in though.
pangy Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Jesus ,another one dreaming of playing for Liverpool halfway through the season God I hope he fails miserably
Saint Charlie Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Yeah that's some statement right there. No promise to reinvest that, I notice...
david in sweden Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 (edited) Confirmed. Good Riddance AMEN to that ! hahahahaha Edited 27 July, 2014 by david in sweden
badgerx16 Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Lovren only ever intended Saints to be a stepping stone.
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 "After I played at Anfield last season, I said to myself: 'One day I hope I'll be able to play here for Liverpool'. The fans will know from the first minute that I'm a player that will give 100 per cent on the pitch." what a load of ****ing ****, why do players spout such bull**** just to apease? I bet the L'Pool fans will lap it up though, and then in 2 years time when he signs for R.Madrid, he'll say how he dreamed of playing for them too.
DuncanRG Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 He tweets: "I want to thank FC Southampton, my teammates and Mauricio Pochettino his terrific staff on a great season that we spent together." "To Saints fans:Thank you for the wonderful and great support you gave me during the time playing for the FCSouthampon i will never forget it" It's something, I guess
Batman Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 im sure he has not left, remember, all this is nothing but rumours from cortese to his mates
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 He tweets: "I want to thank FC Southampton, my teammates and Mauricio Pochettino his terrific staff on a great season that we spent together." "To Saints fans:Thank you for the wonderful and great support you gave me during the time playing for the FCSouthampon i will never forget it" It's something, I guess I can't see a great deal of support right now, judging by his time line, that's for sure.
Gambol2K9 Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 ''This deal is a good one for Southampton Football Club, and hopefully sends a clear message to other clubs wishing to bid for our players.” That message being: help yourselves it's a fire sale
washsaint Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 what a c**T....but then we already knew that. How is Brenda going to keep all these players he is amassing happy? Crab Lungs - quit while you're losing. Avoidable my arse......so we should have offered Shaw, Lallana and Lovren 80-100K to stay (that we can't afford). The mass hysteria on here is beyond ridiculous.
Toon Saint Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Kings of the b1tchy farewell statement. Pity we don't demonstrate any fight to keep our players when it actually matters. All a bit passive-aggressive.
Gemmel Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 That message being: help yourselves it's a fire sale That message being............it wasn't from Saints you plum
hypochondriac Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 I was just re-writing the Shaw statement for what it's worth. But we didn't even get a statement, just a 2 sentence job in the end. Fair enough! Ha Edit: just seen the actual statement. At least they didn't try to make up any rubbish.
Baird of the land Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Suppose empty tweets are cheaper than empty ads in the local paper.
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 That message being............it wasn't from Saints you plum To be fair, they actually did say that. We have since sold Lallana, Lovren and Chambers.
ExSt Peter Saint Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 The statement was almost exactly the same as for Lallana in length. No "The club would like to thank.." or anything else once again, so indicating the club's not happy with his attitude.
The Cat Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 That message being............it wasn't from Saints you plum Plus it's not a fire sale anyway. It would be if we were knocking them out at ludicrously low prices, but we most certainly are not.
sentry Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 That liverpool breaking news logo looks so cheap and tacky....
Dig Dig Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 That liverpool breaking news logo looks so cheap and tacky.... Bit like our squad for next season
Horley CTFC Saint Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 on the OS Southampton Football Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Liverpool over the transfer of Dejan Lovren. hypochondriac Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 The statement was almost exactly the same as for Lallana in length. No "The club would like to thank.." or anything else once again, so indicating the club's not happy with his attitude. I'm not happy with the club's attitude.
Saint Charlie Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Bit like our squad for next season Who is our most tacky squad member in your opinion?
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Who is our most tacky squad member in your opinion? Mayuka.
Olallana Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 And who pops up openly on twitter to congratulate Lovren....well the one and only "not the sharpest knife from the Saints academy"... Could have just sent him an text message but no, had to do it in the open....
angelman Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 The club statement seems to emphasise "significant fee". Great. Is Koeman going to see any more of the £80m odd that has been raised? Is this the domino effect we were being told about, as I thought that it was for incomers rather than outgoers?
Dig Dig Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Who is our most tacky squad member in your opinion? Lloyd Isgrove
sentry Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 This will be great for his clothing line,,, maybe next year Milan then Paris.
Saints foreva Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 (edited) Lovren got shot down on here when he made those comments a few weeks back but let's be honest, as things stand, he's right when he said that this club has no ambition. Fed up. Edited 27 July, 2014 by Saints foreva
Olallana Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 This will be great for his clothing line,,, maybe next year Milan then Paris. Are you saying people in Liverpool are interested in fashion like the ones in Milan and Paris????
Crab Lungs Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Lovren got shot down on his when he made those comments a few weeks back but let's be honest, as things stand, he's right when he said that this club has no ambition. Fed up. Yep, he was spot on. Avoidable, again.
Baird of the land Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 And who pops up openly on twitter to congratulate Lovren....well the one and only "not the sharpest knife from the Saints academy"... Could have just sent him an text message but no, had to do it in the open.... Well he's not a Saints player anymore. Hardly likely to be bothered with keeping things on the down low.
Andre Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Southampton Football Club appears so unprofessional during these transfers. Club comes along, player says yeah, club just kicks dust around their feet looking shy. MAN UP SOUTHAMPTON, let's give players a reason to stay instead of rolling over like we've given up before the season has even ****ing started!!
hypochondriac Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 I don't blame lovren I'm afraid. I blame the board.
sfc4prem Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 I don't blame lovren I'm afraid. I blame the board. Liverpool come in for Lovren with any Saints board in charge, be it Cortese run or whatever, the player will want to leave and our hand will be forced. Not the board's fault we can't compete in terms of stature and wages.
LaptopSaint Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 He tweets: "I want to thank FC Southampton, my teammates and Mauricio Pochettino his terrific staff on a great season that we spent together." "To Saints fans:Thank you for the wonderful and great support you gave me during the time playing for the FCSouthampon i will never forget it" It's something, I guess Yep, it's certainly something. It's the most insincere b*ll**** I've seen all day.
Gemmel Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 I don't blame lovren I'm afraid. I blame the board. What exactly do you blame the board for?
pangy Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 I don't blame lovren I'm afraid. I blame the board. I agree to a extent, the offer was too good to refuse ......but have some humility don't go kicking up a fuss to the press.
The Cat Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 Yep, he was spot on. Avoidable, again. How was it avoidable? Unsustainably doubling or trebling his wages?
kpturner Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 I don't blame lovren I'm afraid. I blame the board. Kinda strange assertion??
Batman Posted 27 July, 2014 Posted 27 July, 2014 How was it avoidable? Unsustainably doubling or trebling his wages? its avoidable when we start selling squad players like chmabers and injured players like rodriguez which is about to happen
