It says "vacation is over :(" on his tweet.

Hardly full of enthusiasm to play football. Jury is still out.

It's better than 'another week in the sun!'

At least he's coming back (by the looks)

Compare that to the tweets from other players, the younger ones especially, saying they were 'buzzing' to get back and is clear he doesn't want to be here.

Well, here he is...

I'm guessing with his attitude, he's going to be training with the apprentices. Koeman aint going to let him loose with the first XI.

He won't. The club want him to stay and he is going to Belgium with the others

He's on the bus to belgium & holland. Time will tell.

Haven't spotted him in any photos but if he's going on the trip that's a start/not a strike

Not seen Lovren in any of them myself either, but check out who liked the below pic first....kind of makes you sad he's not there anymore!

He is on his way back...

What I don't understand is, who´s the other guy??

A friend of Dejan?

Since it´s posted by Dejan it´s a bit weird if he posts a pic with some random fella at the airport...

That's what I was thinking. It will depend upon how he's welcomed back.

Me sad too. Anyone know how Guly is getting on finding a new club?

Lovern posted a picture on his twitter yesterday in an airport so assume he's flying to meet us for pre season.

He could have flown directly to Belgium and could be meeting the team out there?

Looks like the door is open for him to stay.

I know Koeman said "there's a contract in the table" pretty sure he was referring to the fact he needs to honour his exsisting contract but for me he needs to show commitment to us by signing a new contract and apologising in public if he is to stay

How many of us do something we love for living and get paid **** loads for it?

There's no guarantee the players actually love playing football though, and like the rest of us do it for the money

just seen this on twitter haha :mcinnes:

Since when is the Itchen Bridge near the training ground? I doubt he'll ever see it.

I think there is a guarantee. You don't get to Premier League level if you don't love it.

Isn't Lovren the one talking to Jos at the back of the picture where they're queuing at check in?

Could well be the player on the right of the camera, he looks similar and his headphones are white as in the Croatian airport photo yesterday.

What would be the point in a new contract - and what would it prove? For a new contract to be relevant the terms would have to be different from the existing contract, so do you believe we should reward his behaviour with a wage rise, or expect him to sign something that reduces his pay? ....or perhaps you want him to sign a contract on the same terms for an extended period. An apology would be appropriate but I am struggling with the contract idea tbh.

There's no point drawing up a contract as a gesture, but it might be that a pay rise is what it takes to keep him here. Fair enough if you ask me - and if he signs it, then that release presents an opportunity for him to say the right things.

#saintsfc defender @DejanLovren05 has joined up with rest of squad for trip to Belgium

I'm surprised but pleased he turned up.

Let's see what transpires in the next few days.

That's good he's back in the fold . I just hope he sees sense ans stays with us . If any one can do one it's Liverpool

Well don't forget Koeman said that Lovren is 'very clear' in what he wants to do....

So while I'm very pleased he turned up to the camp there's still work to be done I would imagine.

High time someone started a NEW, OPTIMISTIC THREAD on Lovren and this thread is closed and put in the past. It's onwards and upwards from now on.

Lovren spoke with Koeman last week, listened to what he had to say and told Koeman he knew now what he wants to do and will speak with his Agent.

He has returned and joins the others and flown to Belgium. Sounds like our new optimism has swung into action and Koeman is getting his vision across.

Lovren returns to Saints

Daily Echo: Dejan Lovren Dejan Lovren

DEJAN Lovren today returned to Saints - a week after admitting he had set his heart on a move to Liverpool.

Boss Ronald Koeman said at his press conference on Friday that he expected the wantaway Croatian centre half to report back at the club today.

Lovren has promptly done as requested and was part of the Saints party that left for a short pre season tour to Belgium today.

Lovren handed in a transfer request prior to the World Cup starting, but Koeman insisted last Friday that he did not want to sell any more players.
