Monk Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 We currently have six active enquiries/approaches for players. Pelle has hit a snag, from our end. It appears we may have our sights set elsewhere.
shirleysfc Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 We currently have six active enquiries/approaches for players. Pelle has hit a snag, from our end. It appears we may have our sights set elsewhere. Please not Bendtner!!
S-Clarke Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Thank you Monk. I would expect the club are simply not prepared to spend the fee Feyernord want, which is fair enough given his age. I guess you can't put any names on them
sussexsaint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 grr ambition, board is rubbish, lack of signings etc etc repeat to fade. Cheers Monk - dry mattresses all around
Alain Perrin Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 I hear we're offering 2m for that Lambert bloke and are in for Sterling(£7m). Have some of that Scousers.
farawaysaint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 I was quite excited for Pelle Ah well, maybe they'll cave we'll see.
Toadhall Saint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Cheers monk info is much appreciated. I expect we are playing hard ball for Pelle.
Convict Colony Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 We currently have six active enquiries/approaches for players. Pelle has hit a snag, from our end. It appears we may have our sights set elsewhere. 6 f*cking hell thats a fair bit, I would normally say some of those would be covers incase others fall through but 6 seems about right. Hopefully Rodgers/Reed are splitting up the negotiations otherwise this could take until Sept.
Saint Garrett Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Don't think Rodgers gets involved in that. Would be interested to hear if they're international/domestic enquiries. I would guess Pelle, Ings, Marshall, Forster, Caulker, Van Djik....?
DuncanRG Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 (edited) Thanks very much Monk. I think we all had some niggling reservations about Pelle, despite his style and scoring record. I hope we're not considering Ings or whoever as our only signing up front though. Even with a much-improved Gallagher we probably need two. Don't think Rodgers gets involved in that. Would be interested to hear if they're international/domestic enquiries. I would guess Pelle, Ings, Marshall, Forster, Caulker, Van Djik....? Off the top of my head have had recent-ish press links with Pelle, Van Dijk, Kolodziejczak, Marshall, Manga and this Traore kid from Barca. Nothing on Ings in the media for quite a while but a strong hint from Guan a few days ago. Edited 8 July, 2014 by DuncanRG
JakkoUK Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Now this news is just teasing! Any names at all that you can chuck out there Monk without getting in-trouble?
SuperSAINT Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 6 f*cking hell thats a fair bit. I think West Ham were in for about 18 left backs before they landed Cresswell
gary3009 Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 So we know we are after a GK,LB and a ST.What other positions would we strengthen? Assuming Lovren leaves (I don't think a return is COMPLETELY out the question) then a CB is a must. So,if we are after 6 players, would it be the following: GK,LB,CB 2xST...And 1 more.... Will just add, would LOVE Nathan Redmond.
Convict Colony Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 I think West Ham were in for about 18 left backs before they landed Cresswell hahahahahhaha ****ing west ham
DuncanRG Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 So,if we are after 6 players, would it be the following: GK,LB,CB 2xST...And 1 more.... Chances are we're enquiring after multiple players for one spot but if it is six we intend to bring in then I would expect the last one to be another centre half or attacking mid.
saint lard Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 One of our targets is,well let's say.....a ruddy blinder apparently. True Mr Monk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wiggles31 Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 We currently have six active enquiries/approaches for players. Pelle has hit a snag, from our end. It appears we may have our sights set elsewhere. Anyone to get really excited about or a domestic player? Also what positions? Thanks for the info. Most reliant poster alongside Guan and Vman and Alps
Appy Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Anyone to get really excited about or a domestic player? Also what positions? Thanks for the info. Most reliant poster alongside Guan and Vman and Alps Not sure we'll be getting much off Vman anymore.
notnowcato Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 One of our targets is,well let's say.....a ruddy blinder apparently. True Mr Monk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Would he be busy tomorrow evening?
S-Clarke Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Would he be busy tomorrow evening? I Ruddy hope not.
Wiggles31 Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Not sure we'll be getting much off Vman anymore. Oh yeah I know he stopped but the man was ever so reliable.
Bearsy Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Pelle has hit a snag, from our end. It appears we may have our sights set elsewhere. Ooh interesting, with due respect to Pelle & the fact I've never seen him play I do in my cold, dark heart suspect we could do better!
doddisalegend Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Not sure we'll be getting much off Vman anymore. Now he has joined Liverpool........
angelman Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Sean Dyche has come out today and said Ings was not for sale. AFAIK no one has said anything in public about wanting him for quite a while now (or at least quite a while in footballing terms) so I suspect that there is action going on behind the scenes.
Griffo Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Without being rude to OP.. Surely anyone could say we're in for 6 players? We could sign 0 or 6 players from now and no one would have a clue if this information was right or made up?
Convict Colony Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Ooh interesting, with due respect to Pelle & the fact I've never seen him play I do in my cold, dark heart suspect we could do better! Never picked you looking like this B man.
SNSUN Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Please not Bendtner!! Id take Bendtner on a free if it were one of 3 striker signings and the wages were right. Ego or not he's shown previously he can get goals, and has experience now to boot. Although of course I hope for better.
Saint Jude Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 One of our targets is,well let's say.....a ruddy blinder apparently. True Mr Monk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Daley Blind?... could play left back as well as holding midfielder?..
Mallagroth Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Daley Blind?... could play left back as well as holding midfielder?.. shhhh don't spell it out could equally be ruddy of course
Deano6 Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Daley Blind?... could play left back as well as holding midfielder?.. It's John Ruddy. Obviously.
The Majestic Channon Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Notice how positive threads are slow gaining momentum? Just were ARE the usual bedwetters???
JoeShmoe Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Thanks Monk, I would guess Ings and Ruddy are two, but if we have set our sights away from Pelle be interesting to see if that means we are looking at other strikers. Suspect RK is working hard trying to get in who he wants
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Sean Dyche has come out today and said Ings was not for sale. Everton got to personal terms stage a while ago apparantly, but that was about a month
Batman Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 For the bench yes. But is he happy with that? Because he's a long, long way behind Boruc in the ability stakes. I don't agree. But that is my opinion.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 For the bench yes. But is he happy with that? Because he's a long, long way behind Boruc in the ability stakes. Don't agree. Ruddy is a fine keeper.
diggers Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 I can't help thinking that if the true ITKers were posting good info without clearance it would of been plugged by now. My conspiracy theory is that these are conscious leaks designed to a) rattle competing agents, b) sell false info to other teams and c) try to quell any rumblings from the fans.

Maybe I do not remember correctly, but didn't Guan 2.0 indirectly quote option c) as the reason why he was allowed to pass info about Lallana on to this board? And boy did it work - by the time Lallana left, he wasn't so popular any more. Guerilla warfare by SFC
SaintRichmond Posted 9 July, 2014 Posted 9 July, 2014 I Ruddy hope not. Me too. He couldn't even get in the England team !!!
Badger Posted 9 July, 2014 Posted 9 July, 2014 But saying that, I do think Ruddy is better than Marshall. Interesting comparison - Ruddy seems tarnished in Norwich's relegation whereas despite Cardiff going down, Marshall certainly had an outstanding season last year . On balance, and after last season I'd say Marshall is the better option, but as Watson knows Ruddy he is probably the more likely of the two. Both have shown in the past they can perform in the premiership, which can't be said of Forster, who for that reason is more of a gamble.
Foxstone Posted 9 July, 2014 Posted 9 July, 2014 Ruddy is highly regarded at Norwich and from what I have seen of him, is a good keeper. Better than Artur though ? Perhaps....
Saint Charlie Posted 9 July, 2014 Posted 9 July, 2014 Boruc far better than Ruddy. Wouldnt be a good signing for the money they would want.
pap Posted 9 July, 2014 Posted 9 July, 2014 I have heard that we might be in for Jonathan Tah http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1949387-scouting-report-how-great-is-hamburg-prodigy-jonathan-tah Rated as one of the best young CBs around. Liverpool were sniffing around in May. This rumour comes via a mate who knows someone working at the club. Incidentally, my mate doesn't think we'll be able to pull it off. Seems exactly like the type of player we'd go for, though.
angelman Posted 9 July, 2014 Posted 9 July, 2014 Liverpool were sniffing around. Who haven't they (and Spurs) sniffed around? It seems that every player in the world has been sniffed by Pool.
