Sorry but you're one of the few missing the point entirely..doesn't his behaviour rile you? I can guarantee he would have been wished well by a lot more if he had acted with dignity, like rickie has done

What exactly riles you? He has not said anything to my knowledge that is derogatory about the club nor the fan base. He has dealt with the matter privately, keeping it between him and the club. The leaks could have come from either side and 100% the strike leak has come from within the club, if true.

He never said in the press he wanted to leave, he never said he wanted to stay either, nor did SRL or Luke Shaw. There is an ad in the local press tomorrow which you can only assume is to thank the fans etc for the past 14 years, much like the statement released by SRL for the past 5 years and a whole lot more then the tweet Luke Shaw put out.

All the negativity towards him is just bitterness, the club have received £25mill for a £15mill (tops), I don't see the problem, he's given us good service and we have lined his pockets for that period of time, players move on, that's football.

From a 'cold light of day perspective':

He has given Saints years of good service, from div 1 to the Premier League. He was, without a doubt, our top performer last season. The captain of our side, playing the best football I can remember. Yes, it's true, he hasn't handled his move brilliantly but hell, he's going to be paid a shed load of money to play at one of the biggest clubs in the world for what could be the best years of his short career. It's a no brainer for a twenty six year old lad with a very poor beard.

From 'a passionate Saints fan's perspective':

5 year contract you f***ing lying c**t. Kiss my rusty badge you f**k and stick your one page advert up your f**king arse.

Ron you are too close to things, take a break.

I have sat back and tried to be rational about this. I have no problem Lallana leaving, let's be honest he is at the right age etc etc but what does get my goat is, him refusing to play for the club if not granted a transfer and also what he said when he signed an extension to his contract. I actually think he will not settle at Anfield and, if he had left on decent terms, there would have been a good chance we would have bought him back a la Kevin Davies, but the silly idiot has well and truly burnt his bridges.

Don't get irked with the fans, get irked with whoever is advising Lallana.

Isn't he with the Stellar Group ? (Jonathan Barnett etc - as was MP).

Is it fair to say that with Lallana now gone, it really is the end of THEVMAN and his ITK knowledge?

Well after reading 9 pages of vitriol there's not much to add. In summary though, not worried about him going but completely amazed at the lack of respect he has shown his teammates, the clubs staff and most of all the fans. Above everything, he was team Captain - what the hell did that actually mean to him? Clearly sweet FA. Sorry Lallana, no wormy worded Echo advert is going to cut it...the few words of the OS statement tells me more than you could ever say.

In hindsight wish he'd never been given the armband given the complete disgrace his actions in forcing move to Liverpool seem to have been.

I'm hearing that although Adz has arranged a full page ad we're only entitled to 75% with the Bournemouth fans getting the rest.

It's only in the paper until 3 o'clock and then it'll be withdrawn.

Quote: "I think a lot of the vitriol is because we are genuinely gutted to lose him. He is a good player and we'd be a better team if he stayed. Things change quickly in football and if he doesn't want to fulfil his destiny as club legend that's fine. Let's show a bit of class ourselves and not act like dumped teenagers.

Having met him I don't think he is up his own arse, I'd actually say he is quite shy and insular if anything, doesn't enjoy the limelight ala Scholes.

So good luck Adam, thanks for the memories and I hope we pass Liverpool on the way down on our way to the Champions League.

I also note TheVMAN has been viewing the forum, if you feel owe this man anything for all the ITK snippets we have had in recent years, it would be nice to respect the fact that he is someone probably very close to Adam and can't be pleasant reading." Quote

Wow

Its always the ones you love who hurt you most eh?

The spectacular lack of perspective is what is most impressive. He played for Saints for a long time, he did well, he's moved on. That's it. Yes it's gutting, but more as a reflection of the general trend at the moment than anything else.

What's funny is how all of a sudden Alex Crook is some kind of prophet, when 2 weeks ago he was a bull****ter. I guess those journos are only lying scumbags when they're saying something you don't want to hear.

As for the *****ing and moaning about his interview - I look forward to the vitriolic ranting when Tadic gives his first interview to Saints OS and doesn't spend his time talking about how he wanted to stay with Twente really.

Seriously, some of you need to take a good look at yourselves. You're (in the main) grown men. Stop behaving like toddlers.

Weston you have to accept that your friend AL father probably lied to you when he told you no contact had been made. I don't care AL has left, except the way he has done it.( if true) Personally I believe he has been overrated and if you read back to my posts a few years back I mentioned his lack of shooting ability. He has got us 20m ish and that. I am grateful for. Please excuse me if I don't wish him well in his future career, as his actions could be a bad example to the youngsters at our club

Over it already. Good player. Ex player.

Thanks for the memories, Adam, shame you forgot to leave with a bit of class, but I guess you are paid for your football skills, not your diplomatic skills

Now let's smash Liverpool on the first day.

I don't trust crook in the slightest. Guan on the other hand has proven over time to be well informed and restrained.

Bit different for tadic as it's not the same league. If we signed someone from Sunderland who said he'd spent last year hoping to play for us, I'd think he was a ****

Can we all chip in for an advert in the Liverpool echo calling him a c#nt? It would be hilarious

YES.

I sincerely doubt the club has received anything close to 25m. Bournemouth get 25% and have received 4m; that tells me we got 12m - and almost certainly that will be in instalments over the next 3 years! The rest of the 'in the region of 25m undisclosed fee' will probably be add-ons based on appearances, goals, Liverpool winning PL and CL, England winning WC with AL in the squad, etc.

I can fully understand a 26 year old wanting to move to a bigger club on much bigger wages, it is how he has gone about it that riles. Also, his comment about wanting to play for them last season and how he was caught up in the end of season run-in makes one wonder how much effort he put into our home match against them....

This

Some of the things posted however are completely mindless, unfortunately Ive lost all respect for Adam however he doesnt deserve people writing crap such as hoping for him to break legs or die, thats disgusting.

He has however tainted his saintly image, I get him leaving completely. But the fact he kisses the badge, signs a five year deal and pledges his future barely a year ago and then to be found forcing a move, signing another shirt and saying things like he has always wished to play for them is frankly insulting to me as a Saint. Surely we deserve more respect.

Im not getting it to the history of whether he has tried to get a move before etc or the news he wouldnt play certain positions as its frankly speculation however his events upon leaving mean a lad that could easily have remained a legend has shot himself in the foot. A page in the echo doesnt cut it, actions speak louder than words and his actions unfortunately show he wasnt very interested in remaining a saint or anything other then building his bank balance

He wouldnt even hand in a transfer request

He might not of given an interview saying he wanted away but signing that kids Liverpool shirt while still Saints Capt and answering the question "are you signing for Liverpool" wih the answer "hopefully" was a disgrace and a total diss to the club he'd said he wanted to end his career at only a year earlier. Sorry but IMHO Clattenburg was right!

Whilst I like the idea of calling him a c*nt, just a nice simple

'Clattenberg was right'

'you've changed'

Might work and would fit in with the banner idea.

And for extra effect you could add:

'you complete c*nt'
