Good riddance. A good player, class on his day however one good season was all he could produce. Infuriating with his shooting, clearly his attitude changed towards the end. Not a huge loss, however not nice how it ended.

Sounds like Lallana didn't give up his loyalty bonuses too me - hence the reduced cut Bournemouth are getting.

 

They are right ways and wrong ways to leave a club and Lallana has gone about it very badly. He should have kept his mouth shut - instead of leaking stuff to journalists - waited until after the World Cup, handed in a transfer request, said he wanted to play champions league and keep his England place - and lef it at that. At his age we could all of understood that - even if we didn't like it.

 

To be honest I am fairly disappointed with all three of our England boys - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw - all of them should have kept quiet until after he World Cup and waited for their 'big move' to happen when the one is right - Lambert included.

 

Lallana's comments about Liverpool and wanting to play for them last season - and their style fantastic style of play are particularly grating. Without Suarez Saints were arguably a better team than Liverpool - playing pretty much the same way.

 

I hope Liverpool struggle this season once Suarez leaves - and with Gerrard well past his best. But then I never liked them for all the glory hunters at school in the 80s who supported them - then switched to man Utd, arsenal or Chelski.

 

I hope with those three gone that's the end of it - but I have a horrible feeling Morgan and Lovren will follow them out of the club.

 

To add insult to injury we'll probably be stuck with Osvaldo and Gaston too!

what gets my goat is that, Lambert leaving for liverpool, yeah I get that, even though I was annoyed at the club, you can see why he was ever so keen to go and by all accounts, he was a gent during the process...

 

shaw leaving for a world record fee...well, only a matter of time

 

lallana was supposed to be the heartbeat of the club. The homegrown talisman and skipper. the way he appears to have gone about this is staggering to be honest.

Should we have seen this coming? When you look closely at Adam's career you can see a clear pattern of such grievious abandonment and duplicity!

 

1987 - Mother's Womb

 

Adam Lallana spent the first 9 months of his career in his mother's uterus. He was said to be very happy here, attached emotionally and physically to his hometown womb. Alas, Adam soon felt that he had outgrown his environs and after a brief period of contractual negotations ("contractions") he decided to move on. That he would callously abandon his own mother in this fashion is sadly indicative of Lallana's inherently defective morality, but nonetheless he put career before honour. And thus, on 10th May 1988 Adam Lallana fell from his mother's vaginal lips into the waiting hands of an obstetrician, blinked dimly at the world, and did a Cruyff turn.

 

1999 - Bournemouth AFC

 

Young Adam Lallana lost his footballing cherry at Bournemouth, which was ideal because the Cherries are experts in losing at football. By the age of 12 however he felt, correctly, that his talent had already outstripped what is generally considered appropriate for public consumption at Dean Court and sought a move to south coast giants, Southampton FC.

I wasn't actually there when Adam Lallana lost his virginity, but it seems a safe bet that after a period of vag kissing he did a Cruyff turn and shot weakly at her tits. 2014 - Liverpool

 

Nowhere are the arts of badge-kissing more valued that at Liverpool. The entire city operates under an unchallenged delusion that they are somehow special. How long Adam will stay at Anfield is unclear, but it is sure to end the moment he finds an opportunity. One thing is for certain, whatever Adam does next will be preceded by a Cruyff turn.

Lambert never told a little kid he'd be signing for Liverpool "soon" last month, neglected to say he'd wanted to play for Liverpool last season, didn't threaten to strike, didn't mug us off over two bits and I recall exactly one press release from Lambo about him leaving, the day he left ffs.

Paying to take a page in the Echo reeks of arrogant "here's something for the little people" pigheadedness.

 

Even just giving a short statement or an interview with the Echo would have been better but a full page ad from Brand Lallana? Seriously, turn it in.

Most of the posts on here are so hypercritical, are people seriously suggesting that if someone came along and offered to treble your wages, maybe even more, you'd tell them to do one because you wanna be loyal to where you work?? Pull the other one!

 

He is a footballer, that is his living, he's not a saints supporter like us, he doesn't pay for a season ticket, pay for away days, petrol all over the country etc etc, if he can move elsewhere (to a bigger club may I add) then fair play to the bloke, I wish him well, he's give us more then good service.

 

Stop being so bitter and move on, you all sound pathetic.

The difference to me seems to be that Lambert was given a good write-up by the club and an official message to the fans. Lallana has had to take out a paid advertisement to get the space for his message because the club (or the Echo come to that) weren't giving him the opportunity for free.

Yeah it's weird. I mean the bloke was idolised in May and it would have stayed that way even if he had left in a similar manner to Shaw. Has really shot himself in the foot and I have to say looks like a right thicko in the process.

I was irritated by the agitating to leave via the media and the refusal to man up and hand in a transfer request but what really gets my goat is the threat of striking. He forfeits all rights to any kind of thanks and appreciation by that act alone.

I think you underestimate how annoyed people are about this but then your personal relationships probably affects this. Any comment on Adam striking to get a move? Thanks for posting this so everyone can see it rather than just leaving by the way.

It's not a question of loyalty it's the way he's gone about it, all but saying that he is better than Saints and/or Saints are not good enough for him. Also saying he had wanted to move during the season only months after stating he would happily be a Saint for life only goes to show what an insincere man he is. He strikes me as someone who 'all of a sudden' had a significant rise in status and profile (Captaincy, England, big performances) and to coin a well worn phrase has 'let it all go to his head'. For someone who literally grew up with the club he has acted poorly and disrespectfully over advancing his career (in his eyes and almost certainly in reality). That is what most people find wrong. He has (intentionally or not, and I suspect the latter as I get the impression he's probably a little thick) let whatever bad blood between him and the club or certain individuals get in the way of rational thinking and respect for the only people who matter; the fans. Loyalty is reserved for fans and fans alone. Players and managers will come and go. How they do it is how they are judged and remembered.
