Bobbyboy Posted 24 July, 2014 Author Share Posted 24 July, 2014 Well that wasn't very interesting in the end, was it? Minor placings are still up for grabs but who will remember those? Majka fought hard though.
Huffton Posted 24 July, 2014 Share Posted 24 July, 2014 Worst tour for years. Hope they have realised that one time trial is not enough to produce a good race, particularly not if its at the end of the race. Hopefully the Vuelta will be better. Window Cleaner Posted 25 July, 2014 Share Posted 25 July, 2014 Well that wasn't very interesting in the end, was it? Minor placings are still up for grabs but who will remember those? Majka fought hard though. The tour ended in 2 steps, when Froome fell off his bike 3 times in 2 days and then when Contador crashed out in the Vosges. Seeing all these great white hopes of french cycling in the top 5 is ridiculous, not to mention the 37 year old no hoper who'll probably end up second. Still Majka looks good for the future if he can improve his time trialling.
View From The Top Posted 26 July, 2014 Share Posted 26 July, 2014 Seeing Sagan sulking has been fun and Leopold Konig has been pretty awesome. The best thing this year has been having the cameras on the bikes. Been some awesome coverage.

Well if you expect TTs to help sort things out you will be disappointed ; it opens with a 12.6 Km team TT, and there are 2 individual TTs - the first is stage 10 @ 34.5 km, and the final stage is a 10km TT ( not much chance of any rider making time up over such a short run ). As usual it will be a climbing all-rounder's race with just 5 'flat' stages as opposed to 13 lumpy ones, several of which finish uphill on cat-1 or HC climbs. Winnersaint Posted 27 July, 2014 Share Posted 27 July, 2014 Nibali's dominant performance serves to highlight Froome and Contador's absence
View From The Top Posted 27 July, 2014 Share Posted 27 July, 2014 Sky have been awful so perhaps, maybe, next year, they take a squad of talented Brits. I'd love to see both Yates twins riding the whole tour as well. Adam is riding the Vuelta this year.
