Should Ronald Koeman and coaching team quit Twitter?

I for one think it is quite good to have our gaffer and the coaching staff available to 'chat too'....but I fear it could be detrimental and makes them open/vulnerable to abuse which could undermine their planning and thought processes.......could they be influenced to fulfill fans wishes just to appease them?

The wonderful thing about twitter is you can choose what you wish to see or not. I suspect he is using a smartphone to post directly to twitter & therefore will not see any of the replies unless he actually goes looking for them. I think the only way he will actually see something pop up in his "newsfeed" is if someone sends him a direct message which isn't the same as mentioning him in a twitter post. To receive a direct message he would need to be following that individual & i reckon he isn't daft enough to follow anyone who he doesn't know.I pretty much guarantee either the club or Roko will have someone who does actually monitor social media for fan reaction (under an anonymous name of course) & will then feedback the filtered results.

As for rude/ trolling type replies to twitter most celbs/ sportspeople are getting wise to this now & there seems to be a fresh approach of actually belittling the poster. I recall Rickie Lambert doing an interview like this recently where he responded to the "less filtered" comments on twitter about him & also on a recent Us chat show, jimmy kimmel where celebs responded to tweets about them http://www.newageman.co.uk/videos/celebrities-read-mean-tweets-about-them

so in a nutshell i think he will be fine.

Koemans openess shows a level of confidence that Mopo has yet to develop.

I love the fact that Koeman has Saints pics all over his Twitter account + was taking pictures of the training ground and despite speaking great English wanted to improve to help our team. He speaks of his pleasure and honour of managing us......All qualities that mopo never demonstrated once in his 18 months.

On the management side Koeman is a step up from mopo. Just hope we can do similar upgrades to our squad.

Its good to see an effort to communicate with the supporters, especially after the last character who barely gave a toss from day one.

Of course the RK Twitter account will probably be withdrawn at some stage after the first controversy ( criticism of a ref or team performance etc).

The internet has really dumbed down journalistic output. The medium is unlimited so editors don't give a monkeys if the story is a load of tripe. When they had to spend money on paper and ink, editors where a bit more discerning what got in.

Koeman has posted some nice pics and some relevant and open thoughts which habern positively received.

I fear what may happen in the future and how detrimental it could become.

Especially after Lovrens recent use of social media and the responses he got back.
