SO16_Saint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 To paraphrase a misquote :- "Sign him and they will come!" Ah, must have something to do with: Blah Blah Blah...Tadic popular pieces in the female part of Twente....
Sour Mash Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 (edited) ANyone on here actually watched a lot of him? Sounds a class addition for us. Will our current players be aware of his ability/potential? Edited 8 July, 2014 by Sour Mash
SO16_Saint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 ANyone on here actually watched a lot of him? Sounds a class addition for us? Will our current players be aware of his ability/potential? Well, he's no Cherno Samba...
Saint Charlie Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Hope he gets no 7 or 11. Slightly worried his jumping isn't good enough for the PL but time will tell.
sfc6mufc3 Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Give him a year and he'll be off and this is the problem. We must be stronger and not become a feeder club.
iansums Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Once the second part of the medical is completed today he will be announced. No idea on shirt number, he was at Marchwood yesterday, where he agreed his contract which I believe has since been drawn up ready for the photo shots. The quote I was given "expect the dominoe effect". Hope we don't run out of watches.
Plastic Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 his futhead IF cards speak volumes... http://www.futhead.com/14/players/14475/dusan-tadic/
JxgrSaint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 For anyone questioning the transfer fee here's a bit of perspective - Fulham have just paid £11m for Ross McCormack. ELEVEN MILLION BRITISH POUNDS STERLING! Football has gone mad. Still it shows what a bargain Tadic is for €13m (can throw in Snodgrass for £8m for comparison as well)
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 A Good read on Tadic http://totaldutchfootball.com/2014/07/08/southampton-dusan-tadic/

miserableoldgit Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Well, he's no Cherno Samba... What has the Lone Ranger got to do with it? Incidentally, Tonto's horse was called Scout.....just a bit of trivia to pass the time..... Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Saint_Abroad Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Or Domino Effect like when one country turns communist all its neighbors will too? Great, Tadic is leading us right into another Vietnam.
Saint Charlie Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 http://www.benefoot.net/dusan-tadic-the-eredivisies-best-player-leaves-the-nest/ Great write up.
St.Patrik Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 WOW from £17.75k a week to £53.25k - didn´t Twente manager said he would tripple his wages joining Saints.....
stevegrant Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 WOW from £17.75k a week to £53.25k - didn´t Twente manager said he would tripple his wages joining Saints..... This assumes the wage figures in Football Manager are accurate. I would suspect not. Wouldn't be surprised if he was on £40-45k with us, that seems about par for the PL these days.
tpbury Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 http://www.benefoot.net/dusan-tadic-the-eredivisies-best-player-leaves-the-nest/ Great write up. Interesting he faced his former club on the first day of the season when he moved to FC Twente. Twente won 4-0.

richardc Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Well, he's no Cherno Samba... Goalkeeper rating of 3 - isn't that better than Gazzaniga's
pimpin4rizeal Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Nice bit about Tadic here http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/five-eredivisie-stars-who-could-light-premier-league Especially like this part. Tadić combines the refined passing capabilities of Wesley Sneijder with the bravery and dribbling skills of his fellow former Groningen player, Arjen Robben, and much like the aforementioned in their final seasons in Holland, it looks like Tadić has simply outgrown the Eredivisie.Read more at http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/five-eredivisie-stars-who-could-light-premier-league#CDXqoGzAPc40Ps8M.99

Polaroid Saint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Crosses! Beats a man and crosses it. Blimey! Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.

Toon Saint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Graziano must be wetting himself with the thought of playing with this guy !!! Think we might be seeing the dinked left-footed cross and the bullet header a lot next season.
Pancake Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Think we might be seeing the dinked left-footed cross and the bullet header a lot next season. The good ol' days of Beattie...
Badger Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Think we might be seeing the dinked left-footed cross and the bullet header a lot next season. .. and 'knock downs' for Ings perhaps.
Minty Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 If we can retain much of our possession play from last season, including some of the well worked goals through the middle, but also add the ability to go wide and cross for some good headers, then I think we can actually improve our end product. Lallana was fantastic for us, make no mistake, but our play was very central and we were often frustrated by a resolute rearguard action. Full backs provided some width but there still weren't that many crosses, and when there were, quality was not consistently high. By varying our play a bit more, and sometimes being a bit more direct (in terms of getting it wide, beating a man and crossing, not 'long ball) we can put more pressure on opposition at times when possession alone is not looking penetrative. As a result, I think Tadic and Pelle under Koeman, could be better for the overall team progression than Lallana and Lambert under Pochettino would continue to be. This is pure speculation, I was very happy with our play under MoPo, but the lack of variation could be frustrating at times. Clearly this will take time to develop, but I can see how we might become more effective in front of goal if we get these guys in.
Crab Lungs Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 It's obvious what he means, don't be little scamp now Benjamin. (P.S. Coming to Preston?) I have not kicked a ball for years.... Should I dare !!!!????

Players like Tadic I hope will allow us to break down teams and cut through some of the tika taka under MoPo that Spurs fans will grow tired of in about 23 minutes.

We'll be very lucky if Tadic is as good as Lallana as a player, but it might be that Koeman's team, with his own personnel, works better than Pochettino's did in the final third last season. Maybe.
Patrick Bateman Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 OOoooooo Dusan Tadic This'll surely do to start with; How is it though, that grounds in Europe always sound deeper and more masculine?? Prefer that deep guttural sound.

We'll be very lucky if Tadic is as good as Lallana as a player, but it might be that Koeman's team, with his own personnel, works better than Pochettino's did in the final third last season. Maybe. Indeed, comparing player with player achieves little other than justifiying certain points of view. What matters is how the team overall performs. We are clearly not going to be as cohesive a team at the start of this season as we were at the end of last season, but who's to say what will develop in time?
buctootim Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 he was at Marchwood yesterday, where he agreed his contract which I believe has since been drawn up ready for the photo shots. They don't actually sign the real contract for those photo shoots do they? Taking pictures of the real thing would be too risky, with nutjobs zooming in to read the detail. It always looks like a random piece of blank paper to me.
buctootim Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 He's passed the medical today? "Tadic (FC Twente) passes the medical visit to Southampton". Maybe it means he didnt show up
Beckenham Saint Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 talkSAINTS @talkSAINTS 39s Been notified that Dušan Tadić has passed his medical as expected this morning ahead of his proposed transfer to Southampton. #Saintsfc As mentioned earlier...
St.Patrik Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 I have a feeling this will be announced tomorrow since OS just put up a nice piece about Marcus (RIP) and I guess that piece will be up there all day - and it should since he is a legend for what he did for us.
SNSUN Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Dusan, Dusan, he's our man, if he can't do it... ...we'll flog him to Liverpool for 3 times what we paid. I'm home from work at about 4:15pm. An announcement at 4:20pm would be delicious.
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 Dus ant a dic - he signed for the Saints!
del boy Posted 8 July, 2014 Posted 8 July, 2014 he plays on the left.... Dusan Tadic makes Adders look .... Sorry Adam, but you've changed
