Mabes Posted 21 June, 2014 Share Posted 21 June, 2014 according to Neil ' don't let the truth get in the way of a story' Ashton in the mail, SRL was on £55k a week when at Saints!! Can this be true? what Beef does Ashton have with us , why mention it in a story about England performance in WC? A lot of the story's that have attempted to destabilise us have originated from him. Delboy Dave Posted 21 June, 2014 Share Posted 21 June, 2014 That's a lot of dollar for a club like Saints to be paying. I would have thought he was on 35-

Matthew Le God Posted 21 June, 2014 Share Posted 21 June, 2014 (edited) We had a wage bill of £47m in 2012/13 (last available set of accounts), a number of players signed new deals in 2013 so some of our top players are going to be on £50,000+ p/w in 2013/14 in order to match up with that total wage bill. angelman Posted 21 June, 2014 Share Posted 21 June, 2014 Problem with the Mail is, when they make up figures, they tend to forget what they have published before, so therefore look complete ****s. Note the author of this piece, but then Ashton is one of the biggest ****s out there in sport journalism. Sort of sums up his approach to his job and the unprofessionalism that he excels in. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2535123/He-stays-wants-Clause-Lamberts-contract-states-remain-Saint-life.html
Ewell Posted 21 June, 2014 Share Posted 21 June, 2014 Didn't Lambert have a 'match highest earner' clause in his contract which was allegedly one of the reasons we let him go. Maybe his money went up when we signed Osvaldo.
