users watching the game at the Etihad Stadium can harness the power of the recently introduced free, high speed WiFi to stream two additional live video channels to their mobile devices.A ‘Highlights’ channel will allow fans to watch multi-camera angle replays of important incidents in the match and those conversation-shaping controversial decisions.

Meanwhile, Tactical Cam will give fans a view of the match from high above the pitch, providing a unique look at formations, passing and pressing lines, and other tactical movements.

A ‘rewind 30 seconds’ function will also be available across all the live in-stadium video channels, giving fans the ability to rewind at the touch of a button.

Can't see it catching on. Sky Red button, maybe, but why would any run of the mill fan want to load up an app to look at all sorts of angles of a goal that they've just seen live? and should naturally be jumping up and celebrating about? You'll end up missing more as your head will be in your phone!

All for having a better WiFi/3G connection before and after the game, but the usage during the game doesn't interest me and never will.

Bet you would use it if the ref had given a dodgy decision - eg pens

I hope you don't use a Wireless Network, and use a 3/4g solution... as wireless won't be able to do it.

To try and do this properly, using the best Corp Wireless Network system like Meru or Meraki, it will be alot of hardware. Using best guess, with known good hardware... as on average 45 clients per AP, and 45000 capacity, you would need at least 1000 Access points around the Stands just to get the density for the crowd in the stadium. Let alone creating heat-maps to work out the coverage for the rest of it.

Good luck on this, as it isn't task i would want to undertake, let alone install or put the network infrastructure behind this, 1000+ network ports, all providing POE to distribution switch that up-link to a core network to hand off to the internet, which would need a 1Gb/s up-link and a Network Security system to manage usage, and this is just the minimum you would need.

A best guess would be £750K just for wireless coverage... and this would have to be updated every 5 years.
