Graffito Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Sleep walking to elimination. Must move the ball quicker second half.
TwoPints Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Never thought I'd wish I was Chilean they are a great team playing great football really entertaining against Spain. England don't seem to have an identity as team ...unless hopeful punts, running into players and losing the ball and **** set pieces are our style. More average football in the second half followed by Suarez scoring his only chance on goal I reckon. Oh... 'hopeful punts' ... I thought I'd misread that.
norwaysaint Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 I'm really wondering why Baines is rated so highly at the moment, he's been one of the weakest players on the pitch both matches so far. Gerrard's hardly shone either has he?
angelman Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Baines - I can recall Everton's visit to SMS perfectly well. He was crap then as well.
Saint In Exile Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Is Woy insane?? As Albert Einstein would say, definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.... Picks the same team, plays the same slow, predictable game... Why would we NOT lose this as we did against Italy??
TwoPints Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Well I've just put my money on an England win now the odds are up but I'm not sure I can afford to lose that pound really :-)
SaintSteve Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 The writing was on the wall when we played a friendly against a Chile second eleven... Hodgson has no tactical nous; a dinosaur.. we are so rigid in our formation, most teams could defend against us.
angelman Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 If Glen Johnson is one of your better players, then you know that you are really in trouble.
Chewy Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Most teams retain the ball better. We're just ****. Hoof it is the way. We're not sh1t, just rank average. Uruguay are a nothing team, and should be down to ten, but the defence is weak, Henderson and gerrard are offering no protection, yet no support either, and the front 4 who played fairly well on Saturday are all off the pace. Sterling to me is no better than andros Townsend, just paced, tricky and until recently on a bit of form. We need goals so lambert has to come on, as does lallana IMHO. We also need to replace Henderson; just hope ox is fit as I don't see wilshere or lampard making enough of a difference.
doddisalegend Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Bloody typical! Their captain Godin shouldn't be on the pitch. Already on a yellow and then he has his arm across our player's neck to stop a run into the box. No doubt at all it was the second yellow. And so the poor refereeing continues. Mind you, we are crap and the passing is wayward and the Uruguans are winning most of the ball in midfield. Going the way of Spain unless we buck our ideas up. Lambert would have had that header that Rooney got under. Stirling nor Baines aren't showing better than Shaw or Lallana would have so far. At least Spanish fans had a few years of great football and trophies before the meltdown can't really remember the last time watching England was enjoyable.
alpine_saint Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 At least Spanish fans had a few years of great football and trophies before the meltdown can't really remember the last time watching England was enjoyable. vs Holland, Euro 96.
farawaysaint Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 At least Spanish fans had a few years of great football and trophies before the meltdown can't really remember the last time watching England was enjoyable. Lambert debut, hold onto that happy thought.
ART Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 F*C kING 90% North of England selection. Bloody pathetic when there are Southern players on the bench who should have been selected. Lallana on for Rooney, Ricky on for Sturridge, Barkley on
John Boy Saint Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Bloody hoof ball out from the back it's Leyton Orient v Uraguay
farawaysaint Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Bloody hoof ball out from the back it's Leyton Orient v Uraguay Daggers and Redbridge plus Lambert.
ThorpG Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Now if we just had Carroll to bring on so we could stick it in the mixer...
Saint Billy Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Perhaps a nun or two might bring some heavenly help, christ know we need it!
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Uruguay simply look so much better than us. We're not at their level I don't think, even though they're pretty average.
DG Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Embarrassing stuff. Didn't expect anything from this world cup but nothing this shocking.
TwoPints Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 **** me, we're worse in this half than we were in the first. I didn't think that was possible.
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 We're shockingly bad. But hey, just keep it as it is Hodgson.
norwaysaint Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Johnson may not be great, but he's been better than Baines in both matches.
Professor Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Can only get worse at this rate. Common sense says bring on Shaw, Lallana and Lambert but as the team seems to be picked by The Sun and The Mirror it's not likely.
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Is it just me, or are our players always stretching for the ball? Seemingly under control, and they end up stretching for it, and losing it? Seems pretty inept.
SaintRobbie Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Rooney has had his chances. And failed. Get Rickie on.
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Should have scored. Hit it straight at the keeper. Thought the same. The big players put those away.
Toadhall Saint Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Total rubbish - just embarrassing really. England are clueless
Professor Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 The commentator just said Rooney could have had a couple - doesn't he realise he's talking about ROONEY. An effective striker could have had a couple but that's not Rooney.
The Majestic Channon Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Anyone else see guly and puncheon's love child playing for uruguay? Sent from my C1905 using Tapatalk
Andy Durman Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Ow dear woy u really haven't got a clue and nor have the people who employed you
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Barkley coming on, would agree. But you have to ask, what's the point of taking Lambert if you're not going to make use of his obvious qualities? Maybe he doesn't see them.
Andy Durman Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 where's your plan B??? nothing absolutely nothing
igsey Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 You just know that Roy's first change will be to bring Jack Wilshire on. Ah well, roll on Euro 2016.
BlakeySFC Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 where's your plan B??? nothing absolutely nothing This. Hodgson has no balls.
Saint Billy Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Was it only four years ago we were served up the same garbage?
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Was it only four years ago we were served up the same garbage? That wasn't as bad as this.
igsey Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Sterling showing his inner Scouser and knocking some bloke unconscious.
alpine_saint Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Was it only four years ago we were served up the same garbage? We would have been level with the Germans and game-on if it hadnt been for another classic WC referring decision against England.
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 I can see what it's going to be now. 80mins, Lambert thrown on and 10mins of just knocking long ball after long ball up to him. Completely ignoring his actual quality.
tpbury Posted 19 June, 2014 Posted 19 June, 2014 Johnson showed lesson in awareness by letting that ball get cleared
