Wasnt Ochoa at Sunderland and barely played or am I going mental ?

He's been at Ajaccio these last 3 years or so, might have been at Sunderland before that ..I don't know. He had good days and bad days at Ajaccio though, really nothing exceptional, mind you their side was generally weak last season, probably why they got relegated..Ochoa is now a free agent, his contract having expired. Before we make hasty conclusions about him being the best thing since sliced bread though we need to wait and see how he does against Croatia with their far more efficient strike force. Brazil were lucky that Mandzukic was suspended against them really.

A player has 1 good game and suddenly everyone wants him

#notoochoa

Which of course is why he's out of contract with the relegated Ajaccio and yet no club seemed to be falling over themselves to sign him before Tuesday.

He's hit and miss, same can be said about any goalkeeper really. Look at Jaskalainen against us at St Marys, didn't finish the season as Number 1 at West Ham though.

Emenike looks good vs BnH but maybe its the drreadful defence. Looks strong and fast though, makes smart runs.

Can't argue with that certainly looks a bit of a handful, I bet Fenerbahce would be reluctant to lose him.

None of them, the ones who would come to us are no good and players who shine don't always turn out any good either. Gerhinho looked good the only night ffs

Actually quite like the look of Fabien Johnson for the US yesterday - thought he was decent, no idea who he plays for.

Good shout. He plays for Hoffenheim in Germany and played a blinder against Portugal.

Musa had a good game against the Argies, bagging a brace.

Shaqiri scored a great first and decent second against Honduras.

Interesting watching Frickson Erazo for Ecuador last night, we were linked with him quick heavily over the past season.

He did well against the likes of Benzema, though unconvinced by his distribution.

Clyne would have been far more effective given the amount of space C Ronaldo was affording him by not tracking back. Chambers might even have been too.

I thought he looked rubbish, like a less mobile Mayuka. Though the one thing this World Cup is showing is that hardly any favoured sides know how to defend any more, only underdogs.

Thing about Jaaskelainen was that he'd been doing that for a year at Bolton before they even sold him to West Ham...

TBH Less anything than Mayuka is a very poor recommendation really.

Mayuka was definitely worth buying based on his 2012 African Cup of Nations winning performances for Zambia though, which is why the World Cup can be an absolute mug's game for making signings (and also why I've spent 6 months hoping Osvaldo and Gaston would play really well there).

No more Ecuadorians please.... !!

Tommy Forecast was English, should we therefore never sign any more Englishmen too?

No, but just refuse to do any future business with THFC.

Charles Aranguiz looks a class act and his work rate is exceptional. Only 25 years old and playing for Internacional in Brazil on loan from Udinese. Would love to see him in a Saints shirt

Gary Maden(?) who plays for Cardiff is a warrior. Perhaps he would be a useful player, and of course is tested in the PL. Obviously injuries are a concern

Very very risky buying players from the WC, look at that Gyan fella Sunderland bought. Too many players have the tournament of their lives and then are pretty average.

Gyan was a class act, scored some great goals for Sunderland - just a bit of a c**t and buggered off as soon as some oil-rich backwater offered him more money.
