TopGun Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Mancini is currently in Ocean Village. Coincidence? How can he be in Ocean Village when he is in the Grazing Goat in Highfield?
Son of Bob Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Mancini is currently in Ocean Village. Coincidence? Is he sipping Champagne on Paul Allen's yacht?
notnowcato Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 My only point was that without that one final kick he's not viewed in anywhere near the same esteem, regardless of what had gone before that season. Something out of his direct control massively boosted his reputation in a split second. Yeah, good job he installed the never give up attitude and fighting spirit into the super rich players he got lucky with. Your point is fairly fickle, you are entitled to it though.
Batman Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 would be funny if we got mancini. dare I say it, spurs fans would not be happy at all with that
Heisenberg Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Just seen Mancini near Toys R Us He was chatting to Nigel Adkins - overheard him asking about Nicola C's sacking. Took the below - its a bit blurry but you can see its them.
sfc1976 Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Cabbie just told me mancini's renting a place in Chilworth, already have a few jars down the clump like...
dubai_phil Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 As fellow nutjobs will no doubt be aware, it is REALLY difficult & dangerous to get all excited and comment on something like this. Too many memories of the Maradona, Riquelme and other insane ideas that the phew sprayed around back in their one day in the sun
Miltonaggro Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 What price would you get on a Mancini Balotelli double? You heard it here first ;-)
Batman Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Mancini has been a success in nearly every season he has been a manager. would be an incredible signing. cant see it
Tokyo-Saint Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 More chance of getting a mankini Why not both? Dell sized mentality!
InIstanbulWeWonIt5Times Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 You must try for Moyes IMO.He is good for a team like yours. You will be in a battle for Europa League.
Dynamo Naive Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 I think you are probably right, the bookies are laying off their exposure to Koeman. I just put £25 on him at 7/4 with Bet Victor, refreshed the page and he was instantly in to 5/4.
Dynamo Naive Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Meant to quote Wade Garrett in that last post.
Hatch Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Why not both? Dell sized mentality! Should that be on the New Kit Thread
Saint Rees Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Anyone still think it will be Koeman? Seems the most likely still, IMO
Saint Charlie Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Should hopefully find out by end of week, some encouraging Candidates linked, miles better than the dross allegedly in the frame for the West Brom job. I think they have an urge to revert to the yo-yo days again, some odd decisions there in the last couple of years.
Turkish Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Another positve of mancini is that we have an instant replacement for the Cortese song.
fish fingers Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 He'll look great in the red and white scarf he just bought in West Quay.
jjsaint Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Tottenham are so confident about Koeman coming to Saints that they are already lining up his replacement. Boom tish.
Miltonaggro Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Another positve of mancini is that we have an instant replacement for the Cortese song. To be fair, Mancini has always f*cking hated Pompey, even when he was playing for Lazio...
SuperSAINT Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Probably why Yakin has been hanging around waiting for something to turn up, just like Mr Micawber. Good shout. http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=6004
angelman Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Seems that with most bookies, Mancini has now replaced Cowman as favourite.
Pastor Patrón Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Mancini is exactly what we need, he'd easily be the best appointment out of the ones linked
Professor Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 He'll look great in the red and white scarf he just bought in West Quay. He won't wear that - my mother is knitting him one that is 8 feet long. Told her its just paper talk created out of absolutely nothing except he's out of a job and Southampton have a vacancy.
doggface Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 2+2=5 IMO. still think it will be Koeman, bookies odds on new managers are often way off and very sensitive. Doubt he would be interested. He is a massive nob but his resume is impressive.
Viking Warrior Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Well it's tomorrow's Thursday . So as all the astral and relevant planets are in alignment and with the World Cup about to begin Saints are geared up to announce the new manager tomorrow . Definately not in the know
Lord Duckhunter Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Anyone who thinks Mancini will come to us is deluded . Unless we're going to pay way way above the odds, what on earth is the attraction for him? If we are going to throw around the type of money to tempt him, Poch would have stayed. He's left his job and people wet themselves. Just because Katie Price has dumped her latest husband , doesn't mean she's going to let me give her one does it?
niceandfriendly Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Yeah there's absolutely no way Mancini will come here. But having his name mentioned has been well worth it because we've been truly entertained by a few saying they wouldn't want him here.

Just because Katie Price has dumped her latest husband , doesn't mean she's going to let me give her one does it? Would you want to do Katie Price ...? Back on topic it is unlikely but the bookies have narrowed the odds in response to betting markets and betting markets usually respond to gossip. No smoke without fire and all that Have to admit I would be shocked if he came - a 'big name' and maybe not what I would have seen us going for, not exactly know for the academy side of things, but would be the kind of manager to hopefully attract, and keep, good players.
Strangely Brown Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 I expect Neil Ashton will be running a story tomorrow telling the world that Mancini has already e-mailed Saints asking for a transfer!!
sfc1976 Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 Apparently all winning bets roll over to the next spurs manager market.
richardc Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 2001-02 Coppa Italia 2003-04 Coppa Italia 2004-05 Coppa Italia 2005-06 Coppa Italia 2005-06 Serie A 2006-07 Seria A 2007-08 Serie A 2010-11 FA Cup 2011-12 Premier League title 2013-14 Turkish Cup If they are the achievements of a crap manager, please point us to an example of a good manager. Im not really up on Mancini - how many of these were actual real achievements for the team - EG the Premier League on the last day of the season wasn't a massive achievement for a team with 1£Bn invested in it and the Turkish cup is that like the equivalent of Celtic winning the Scottish cup - this is a genuine question im not slating him

OldNick Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 :blush:I do hope I'm wrong but I don't believe Mancini to be that good. He was lucky to win the league with Man City even with a squad that Wigley would have take. To European glory

To European glory he was lucky? how many lucky teams win the league in England? fergie only won the european cup twice in nearly 30 years. and you expect mancini to do it in 3?

With the resources there for him he should have won more and at a canter. Utd won the league the season after with probably their worst side for decades (not since of course) As I said if he becomes Saints manager then I want him to do well, but I'm not sure of his record bringing young players through and using sparse resources

M271 Posted 11 June, 2014 Posted 11 June, 2014 He doesn't seem to be a good fit for us. This. I'm not sure that he is the sort of manager or character to fit Saints. I don't get the impression that he creates a strong team ethic or harmony and raises the performance of lesser players to new levels. Saints is more about the team than the individuals and I'm not convinced that is his approach.
