I posted a couple of days ago that, based on what little we know, I thought Koeman was likely to be our new manager.

Can someone tell me at what point on this lengthy thread it became a certainty?

I've just been trying to work that one out. Trawling back a few pages, I still couldn't work it out…….

I have my reservations about Koeman. Legendary name but I have this eerie feeling that he'll flop with us.

Please feel free to dig this up next May if Saints get him and he performs wonders.

I know what you mean. It's always the same though, whether it be a player or manager.....Will they gel

The main thing for me is that on paper this looks like a very strong appointment and the board means business. What more can they do without a proven reliable crystal ball?

KBillySupersound (or something like that) posted that it was done. Apparently he is ITK.

Depends I suppose on what people are expecting next season....I feel a lot of people are going take last seasons record finish of 8th as some sort of minimum benchmark for next season anything less will be seen as a failure I suspect. Slightly unfair on the new bloke considering he might have a hell of a re-building job on the 1st team this summer.

Is this how you would conduct transfer decisions?

Not entirely but it helps to build up an impression of him, along with having an exceptionally mediocre goalscoring record and not looking particularly quick, physical or skilfull. It's a dissapointing drop in calibre from Lovren, Wanyama and Osvaldo last summer if we get him, even though Osvaldo turned out to be mental.

Aka Andrew Halford. Well known prat on twitter with a history of making sh1te up. Ludicrous that a loser like him would ever meet with club officials.

I suspected bs myself but he's now named the guy as Gareth rogers.

Lol@WBA.

I don't want Sherwood here but he'd have been a better appointment there than Irvine. Not surprised their fans are going bat **** mental.

That's what it's like to be Tottenham, never getting in the top four. You signed Mauricio, we signed Ronald Koeman, Ronald Koeman, Ronald Koeman

Can we make this happen please??

Andrew Halford is a delusional freak of the highest order.

Things like that are a recurring problem - Remember that skate reporter who tweeted something about Poch staying?

The blew up so much it even got in the papers that he would sign a new contract & stay.

Also, talk about announcing it while no-one is looking! Depressing for their fans before a big England game.

A pretty shameful "Bury bad news" tactic from WBA. Already they've put themselves under massive pressure.

He's a WWE fan, which means he lives in the fantasy world. Said he delivered something to his house - someone should ask him where Mr Rodgers lives.

Cheers Bats.

"What a joke."

"Pathetic."

"Utter disgrace"

"Gutted"

"I could f*cking cry"

:)

Poor bastards. Those on here demanding fast appointments, ending uncertainty, etc etc: Be careful what you wish for. There but for the grace of God go us.

Lol at Chiles on ITV when talking about WBA's new appointment.

What did he say? My ears automatically tune out as soon as his slug like lips move.

I shall send an condolence card to the WBA friend up here .

I think they were going to appoint sherwood but according to 5 live last night. They said sherwood was trying to get more money for his coaches les Ferdinand . I guess WBA did have the money and pulled the plug .

Poor sods

Seems there may be something in the Erwin and Pelle links. Ronald's son has just retweeted this

@feyenoordpings: 'Koeman neemt broer mee naar Southampton en hoopt op Pellè': http://t.co/z4xlFsUjYF http://t.co/j41OCN173B

@ Feyenoordpings "Koeman takes brother to Southampton and hopes Pellè ': http://t.co/z4xlFsUjYF http://t.co/j41OCN173B

I know in the article they only quote the Mirror but for Tim Koeman to retweet it means it's more that just speculation.

My source tells me that betfair says koeman has legs. Make of that what you will

Can you bet on him having legs? I'd say that was a sure thing.

Dutch papers are reporting that the deal with Koeman is "virtually" done. Galatasaray is still our competition for him, but they expect that if the final details can be agreed upon in the next 48 hours it will be both brothers Koeman to Saints
