How's League 2 going for you?

Shut up you tit. It's not my opinion, it's the opinion of a group of Dutch fans who I happen to be watching the game with. I just thought it would be interesting to hear the view of some people who watch Dutch football every week.

Tell me, had you met some Dutch fans would you have not asked their opinion?

Currently watching the Mexico game with 8 or 9 Dutch supporters. I asked them for their opinion of Koeman and not one of them had a good word to say about him. They all feel he's suited to the Dutch game but would be out of his depth in the Premiership & a terrible signing for Saints.

My brother is an scout/agent in Holland and thinks Koeman is exactly the right choice for us. His teams play good attacking football and he cultivates the youngsters extremely well. I for one would be very happy with him as our manager.

Souness, Ball and Hoddle are up there too in terms of 'name'!

But in terms of teams played for and current stature, I do agree.

Don't tell (the vocal few)Saints fans that Hoddle was one of our most successful managers that was rejected in preference to a wurzel, they are trying to airbrush out their part in our downfall from the Premier League.

Those fans don't happen to support someone like PSV or maybe Ajax? Despite his past at those clubs, he would be considered to be the ex-manager of Feyenoord given that that was his last job.

@alex_crook: Been told it is unlikely #saintsfc will announce their new manager this weekend, more likely early next week. Believe it will be Koeman

He just tweeted that Lambert is off to Liverpool too.

Just having a drink with a few Dutch lads from our Amsterdam office. They think Koeman is amazing, a great manager to develop kids, play good football and with his name in the sport and our reputation as a top 20 club in Europe, back by an ambitious board then we'll be able to attract players to the clubs better than we could have hoped. They think he'll take us up a level. Opinions hey!

I was in the Chilworth Arms' beer garden an hour ago when none other than Pochettino swanned in. Sacked already? :p

He lives just down the road from there and, believe it or not, has put down a modicum of family roots in the area (as much as anybody in as transient a profession as a football manager can).

There's no real reason for him to move house, uproot his kids and disrupt their education. He's only 1.5-2 hours drive to Spuds training ground, and if needs be, can tuck himself into the nearest Premier Inn during the week. I'm sure Spuds' expense account will stretch to him sharing a bed with Lennie Henry.
