I think Sir Les said

"In the end, we whittled it down from managers who’ve won trophies, won leagues, won European competitions, had vast experience of playing in the Champions League and European cups and so on"

Whittled it down " from "

He doesn't say that what they ended up with were any that had " won trophies, won leagues, won European competitions, had vast experience of playing in the Champions League and European cups and so on "

Going on what calibre or status of Manager many on here are banging on about, I still think "we" are in for a collective shock

A lot of people think SFC is a "dream" ticket for someone. Well, the "dream" died when Markus's 5 year plan ended

I don't think it is a very good dream now, and perhaps most of the Quality Managers think the same

About right for the first part, what he says in his word jumble is that we've had few applications from people who at some time in their career have done well at football. Doesn't say how or when. He also talks of a list of potential managers who've been scouted in the past, do you thnk Mancini would have been on that list or Ranieri, doubt it, neither is young or up and coming really. So you then have to decide whether our manager elect will be from the scouted list or from the straightforward applicants, not so many clues as to that really. Basically it was just another wait and see gabfest. Didn't listen myself because I have a particular aversion to estuary accents.

The usual swivel - eyed drivel, only with the added bonus of showing you are too dumb to understand the meaning of the phrase "whittle it down from".

Keep it up.

Can you put an ITK rating next to certain posters, as I am finding it hard who is talking complete and utter bull**** and who might know what's what. As that is the case, I treat everything as bull****, except Guan.

Next boss is Ronald Koeman.

Thanks KBS. All in all a good appointment, though yet to succeed at this level. I'm quietly confident though we're the right club for him to make his mark.

I'm guessing an imminent announcement now one of our ITK's has been allowed this information.

Insults as usual

And YOU can't see that "whittling it down from" does NOT necessarily mean that the ones that are left are the ones that have " won trophies etc etc "

God, you'd be a walkover negotiating for a pay rise I bet ???

( I'm assuming you are old enough to work ?? )

Let me know if you are pleased with the Top Manager Sir Les has got. Perhaps the hold up in paperwork is because the new man can't write ? Who knows

If you whittle a piece of wood in order to make a wooden cocktail stick would you expect the final piece to be made of wood or custard?

Don't bother. He has no understanding of the phrase. It's kinda sweet and sad at the same time.

Answer Wood, but what quality and strength would be left ?

If it were me I would whittle away all the bits with splits, knots, inherent weaknesses etc and make a quality cocktail stick.

If you want to get rid of all the good bits and keep the kindling, you crack on.

:spaz:
