Delboy Dave Posted 8 June, 2014 Share Posted 8 June, 2014 Clapping him? Are you serious? SuperMikey Posted 8 June, 2014 Share Posted 8 June, 2014 He did also get us our best ever Premier League finish tbf. We may have been used as a stepping stone, but so what? We're in a better position now than we were when he took over. Have to recognise what he achieved with us - even if he did jump ship to the first chequebook waved at him. Give him a little clap, and then a big chorus of "RONALD KOEMAN/MURAT YAKIN/GLENN HODDLE'S RED AND WHITE ARMY"

swannymere Posted 9 June, 2014 Share Posted 9 June, 2014 If we do the traditional muppet thing of deciding that anyone who leaves is the enemy we'll put off people wanting to join us, i mean is everyone under the delusion that players with talent and ambition see us as anything other than a stepping stone? Is that too much of a problem if we get a decent transfer fee? As for the Argentines and the Falklands banner, no other country really gives a toss, it must rank currently quite low down in peoples thoughts for potential conflicts. That works on many levels, it can also be adapted, whereby Mopo could be substituted with Lalla, or any other snivelling little rats name for that matter. Monkou Posted 9 June, 2014 Share Posted 9 June, 2014 Spurs is a bigger job than us. Most people are ambitious and want to better themselves. Probably he knew that the owner did not want to make a serious top 4 push whereas spurs do. Can´t blame him for going at all. No doubt some idiot fans (football has plenty) will still boo or sing songs that are not as funny or clever as they think but hey ho.. that's English football. No doubt some idiot fans (football has plenty) will still boo or sing songs that are not as funny or clever as they think but hey ho.. that's English football. This. The attitude displayed in this thread is exactly why other teams are calling our fans arrogant and delusional. If you were offered a higher profile job that paid you more money what would you do? The most annoying thing is that the Spurs fans I know have been desperate to see us as being annoyed that they've taken Pochettino and would really, really like to think we're incredibly gutted about it. The funniest thing is when I tell them that I'm not bothered at all and that 8th place wasn't really any sort of overachievement with the players we had at our disposal they're incredibly frustrated. Its a lot like in the Simpson where the bullies take Bart's junior campers outfit, throw it around for a game of keep-away and Bart just shrugs and walks off. Jimbo then grabs him and says "You better pretend that you want it back!"
Halo Stickman Posted 10 June, 2014 Share Posted 10 June, 2014 Whilst I agree that the example of an employee leaving one job for another one that pays more money is a rational and valid comparison the truth is that football is an irrational and passionate beast. Therefore, for many people, a more pertinent comparison is that of a wife leaving her husband for another bloke who has more money.
