heard this on the news, couldn't understand why there was a time set for it.

 

maybe just a viral marketing campaign by Mcafee or Norton or whoever that has got out of hand.

nah, basically the FBI have disrupted a botnet, the two weeks is how long they reckon it will take for the owners to reset it all back up and take control of the machines they were controlling again....
