Southampton in crisis?

Great article from Reuters.

I'd be interested to see what you all think about this?

]

Well it is full of speculation for starters.

Realistically, what do we actually know? That MP has gone, and that Lambert is undergoing a medical tomorrow.

We think that Liverpool are also trying to sign Lallana and Lovren but we don't actually know this for a fact.

The fact that Lambert is a Liverpool fan made it a certainty that he would go if an offer came in, and good luck to him. He's getting Champions League football at the latter end of his career and we couldn't offer that, and I don't begrudge him one bit. However, Krueger's statement that all deals would be done on our terms doesn't ring true when we hear that Liverpool wanted the deal done before Rickie flew to Miami. So the deal was done on Liverpool's terms. Good bit of business by Ian Ayre there. If Rickie does well, he'll have got him on the cheap.

I don't suppose any club has made an offer for Gazza?

Not much I can do about it, save for turning up to the games or not. As I have already renewed the season ticket, there's not even that choice any more. So not really too worried as I can't do anything. Will be interesting to see what team we have left.

I am almost, in a perverse way, hoping that the whole team goes. That way my disillusionment with football will be complete and I can completely give up with the nummamorous monstrosity that it has become.

One thing the article gets indisputably bang on:

The Southampton board this week spoke of acting swiftly to replace Pochettino with a top-notch manager, but until they do so there appears little the club can do to stem this PR disaster.

That is the key. So instead of running around like headless chickens, the board need to stay calm and focused and get a strong manager with the type of status and clout that protects the club from the circle of bloody mouthed hyenas and vultures ! Glenn Hoddle would be my choice.

It really wouldn't be your choice would it. Am guessing you would quite like a manager who has actually managed in a top division any time in recent history...

Have we sacked our players then?

Have we put them on the transfer list?

No?

Oh, you mean they, I say again THEY, want to leave? of THEIR OWN CHOICE?

Not yet you say, but they might.

So nobody has left yet (Rickie aside who I reckon set this up himself - not a lot of loyalty there then)

No?

Ah, but they MIGHT do?

Of THEIR OWN CHOICE?

So they would CHOOSE to leave, yes?

Ok, we'll have to wait and see who the rats are.

The bedwetters are going to look very foolish if, in the next couple of weeks we appoint a top quality manager. As for the Hoddle detractors, he is the only one talking snese over the England Peru game.

There are so many reasons why I was sad that MP left, but by far the biggest reason is that it gave you an opportunity to start all this Hoddle **** again!

Yes! Even Theo looks surprised that Hoddle knows something about the Italian team.

We are a club in crisis though. The reason is that the wrong decisions made over the next couple of months will send us down again. So far, our first 2 weeks have seemingly been pretty poor, but fingers crossed we will gain some balls and resist hereon in.
