Ohio Saint Posted 27 May, 2014 Share Posted 27 May, 2014 I have never been as angry in all my time supporting this club. And I will support them no more until we new owners. No point .disgusted This is hilarious on many levels, and for all the wrong reasons.
nta786 Posted 27 May, 2014 Share Posted 27 May, 2014 Oh deary me. Go support Chelsea or City then and I'll be supporting my Saints- no matter what position or league we are in. Pathetic thread.
washsaint Posted 27 May, 2014 Share Posted 27 May, 2014 wigan Saint.....just when I thought nothing could top the OP, we then have the hysterical tarts Alpine and Richmond and to top it all....most pointless, pathetic retarded response goes to you! So you will stop supporting Saints because of our owners (who saved the club and our meteoric rise through the leagues). Logic (or lack thereof) there defies belief. doddisalegend Posted 27 May, 2014 Share Posted 27 May, 2014 Me too but I don't think it's possible as fans demand ambition and moving forward. We'll be in a great position even with MP and a couple of players, but I fear the biggest obstacle will be the fans and atmosphere, discontent, bickering and resentment towards the board. Seem to be quite a few people who tell us all year these departures are inevitable for a club our size and impossible to prevent, but then go on to criticise the board for not preventing it. Maybe they are useless, I've no evidence either way, but there are some really childish reactions so far. This really. I'll be a bit gutted if some of the players leave less bothered about Poch really. Maybe I just have different reasons for supporting saints, to some posters on here, but I really couldn't care less about the CL or pushing on. All the really matters is that the club is around so that 3.00 on a Saturday I can support a saints team weather they're playing Man Utd or MK dons I don't really care. I think we've come so far so fast in the last five years that some peoples expectations of saints have gone way over the top the truth is the journey back to the PL was always going to be more fun than the destination. I'm getting more wound up by all the feet stamping and hand wringing on here than by anything the club is doing.
Professor Posted 27 May, 2014 Share Posted 27 May, 2014 So like every other PL club outside the top 6 then? Mark me up for quite happily being a mid table PL club bringing through young English players, playing attractive football and well liked / respected by nearly every other club What a sad attitude to adopt. Southampton are virtually unique in producing home-grown players of international standard. Even Ricky Lambert can be counted a Southampton product since he was in our L1 side. We all know the recent list which includes Walcott, Bale, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lambert, Lallana and Shaw. Other mod-table clubs remain mid-table because they have to buy in the best they can afford which usually means players who may be good, but are short of that top quality and being mid=table means that relegation is a constant risk - see Wigan, Norwich, Fulham, Birmingham, Bolton, QPR, Reading. A club that settles for mid-table is likely to have regular spells in the Championship or, like Leeds or Wolves, struggle to get back at all. Being mid-table because you can't get good enough players is one thing, but becoming a selling club with no ambition is not what I expect of the Saints I support and if that is to be the future, my own visits to St Marys will; become much less frequent. berkshiresaint Posted 27 May, 2014 Share Posted 27 May, 2014 People forget that we are saints fans. We support a team who have never made supporting them easy. Ups & downs over the years, selling our prized assets, relegation after relegation, almost going out of business. having some great players & Ali Diahs cousin, but. Through all of the highs & lows we continue to support this wonderful if sometimes frustrating club. A manager is temporary, an owner also but saints is forever. Wait to see how all this pans out, things could be worse Arry could come back.

I think you'd better re-align your expectations pal. Either that or start planning what you are going to spend your match ticket cash on. Aiming for mid table is a dangerous thing I agree, but being happy if that's where we end up having watched young players play some attractive football? I don't think that's sad at all.
