killer fan Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 We had a good season but once we have a good season in the prem we always give up and don't want to go further the next season I do think poch is a good manager but not as good as he think he is it's not really a big move to spurs they are a crap football club just shows the board isn't going to back us this year which is a shame and I do think poch is a idiot for going there who won't last a year but I suppose he's going for the money shows he's full of rubbish saying he's got one year left carnt stand it
angelman Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Why not wait and see who the replacement is and what he is given?
hasper57saint Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Has it been CONFIRMED that he is going to Spuds?
The Majestic Channon Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014  what a load of bedwetting kids , hysterical !

BARCELONASAINT Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 I despair, anyone would think the club is about to cease to exist the way some people go on on this forum......get a grip ffs!
hasper57saint Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014  what a load of bedwetting kids , hysterical ! Well you responded so are you included too?
Saints foreva Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 To be fair it is frustrating when you consider that we had a massive chance to push onto the next level after the season we've just had.
The Majestic Channon Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Well you responded so are you included too? No
Gorgiesaint Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 To be fair it is frustrating when you consider that we have a massive chance to push onto the next level after the season we've just had but it appears that as yet nothing positive has happened, despite the fact that nothing negative has happened either. Corrected it for you, the world hasn't ended yet.

I support Southampton FC not one man.
Olallana Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 So if "we (as in the club) give up and and dont want to go further" the manager is a moron for wanting to go further?
SNSUN Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Cool. I recommend Chelsea, Man City, Real Madrid, Barca or Bayern. Enjoy. This. We've had 129 years of ups and downs, I suggest the OP either get used to it or support a club where wins and positivity occur most weeks. This is an ill-judged thread from a youngster, after all it's not like we've actually heard anything yet...
70's Mike Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 bed wetters out in force this bank holiday on the 1 may 1976 we went into a game at 7/1 odds but 25000 of us believed this is an occasion when the club is more important than any other, if he goes it is his loss not ours
doddisalegend Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 This. We've had 129 years of ups and downs, I suggest the OP either get used to it or support a club where wins and positivity occur most weeks. This is an ill-judged thread from a youngster, after all it's not like we've actually heard anything yet... The problem with the last five years is it's left us with a whole load of fans with massively raised expectations.................
Dalek2003 Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Bedwetters and Drama Queens are out in force. If we stay in the Premier League that will be enough. It is always our first aim when we are in the top league and always will be. E very position above 17th is a bonus and the Cups are simply a 'sideshow'
Pedro Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Have I missed something, has MP gone, have we sold all our players and have the owners run off with the money and leaving us skint OR has nothing happened yet.
Cestrian Saint Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 I actually agree with the original post. MP is a complete fool if he goes to Spurs and our board have shown nothing but a complete lack of ambition by not securing his services. Watch the floodgates open with regard to players leaving. We should be looking to build on last season, not sell off all our assets. What next, Neil Lennon? Face facts, our board are both clueless and spineless.
alpine_saint Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 I dont understand the "giving up" sentiment, but yes, the latest turn affairs will cement our place in the heirarchy of English football as a mickey-mouse, zero-ambition, mediocre-mid-table also-ran of a club.

Oh cool, you've got some facts for us - please, tell more, it'll be nice to have someone really ITK
brmbrm Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Fact: if the man wants to go the board can't make him stay. They can offer him 6 million, but basically this is not bondage. Fact: everyone buys and sells players. The thing is to do it to make the squad stronger. If you sell, sell high. When you buy, buy low.
Cestrian Saint Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 FWIW I am quite ITK but I gave up sharing things on here because there's always somebody who thinks they know better. This whole situation reminds me of when Strachan delivered our best Prem league finish and got us to the FA Cup final and then RL refused to spend to take us to the next level. Strachan got his coat and the rest is history. It's taken a decade to get back to that position so what do we do? Let the manager go to a direct competitor.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 bed wetters out in force this bank holiday on the 1 may 1976 we went into a game at 7/1 odds but 25000 of us believed this is an occasion when the club is more important than any other, if he goes it is his loss not ours Very well put and I totally agree.
Tom & Gerry Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 I dont understand the "giving up" sentiment, but yes, the latest turn affairs will cement our place in the heirarchy of English football as a mickey-mouse, zero-ambition, mediocre-mid-table also-ran of a club. I wouldn't quite describe us as that. Our history, support and trophies won would put our natural position somewhere near the bottom of the Premiership/ top of the Championship. To have come from where we were to 8th in the Premier league is remarkable and teams can change their history but even if we could spend the massive amount needed to become a top 4 club on a regular basis would we want that?. I like us slaying the occasional giant not being the giant otherwise I would support Chelsea or Man U.
Block34 Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Fact: if the man wants to go the board can't make him stay. Yes they can, it's called contract law - a binding contract exists between MP and SFC - both parties must agree for it to be terminated and if SFC chose not to terminate it, then MP would not be able to join any other team until that contract was eventually terminated. They can offer him 6 million, but basically this is not bondage. legally speaking, a contract is. Fact: everyone buys and sells players. The thing is to do it to make the squad stronger. If you sell, sell high. When you buy, buy low. ...and we wouldn't do this? With all the paper talk of us pushing up the fees for LS and AL are we not doing that now? But we agree here.
kpturner Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 FWIW I am quite ITK Funniest thing I've read for a while - cheers

Cestrian Saint Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Funniest thing I've read for a while - cheers Glad it amused you. You're clearly one of those people who knows more than everybody else but refuses to accept that there may actually be others who use this forum who have contacts at the club.

rallyboy Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 I think I might just await some facts before going all kneejerk. In the meantime, anyone who has run out of commas, here are a few for you to use so we can understand your posts. ,,,,,,,,,,,
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Nope - I'm none of those I'm afraid. I just found it very funny. What's amusing is that you've no idea who he is. Believe me, he's a lot more ITK than most on here.

Professor Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 Fact: if the man wants to go the board can't make him stay. They can offer him 6 million, but basically this is not bondage. Fact: everyone buys and sells players. The thing is to do it to make the squad stronger. If you sell, sell high. When you buy, buy low. Right that if the manager wants to go, go he will and he is replaceable. Once a manager wants to go, a club is better off without him. But not sure about the recipe for making the squad stronger. Selling high means selling your best players and buying low means replacing them with lower quality. Isn't the better way to have your players of long-term contracts and hold them to their contracts?
Dalek2003 Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 I dont understand the "giving up" sentiment, but yes, the latest turn affairs will cement our place in the heirarchy of English football as a mickey-mouse, zero-ambition, mediocre-mid-table also-ran of a club. Mid table club ? I'd be ecstatic.
Saint_clark Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 It's all getting a bit 'punching your wife for not being hotter'. Surely a better analogy would be leaving your wife?
WIGANSAINT Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 I have never been as angry in all my time supporting this club. And I will support them no more until we new owners. No point .disgusted

So like every other PL club outside the top 6 then? Mark me up for quite happily being a mid table PL club bringing through young English players, playing attractive football and well liked / respected by nearly every other club
Saint in Paradise Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 How long before a certain poster calls for Mr Hoddle to be re-appointed as manager IF MP goes?
Le Timmier Posted 26 May, 2014 Posted 26 May, 2014 So like every other PL club outside the top 6 then? Mark me up for quite happily being a mid table PL club bringing through young English players, playing attractive football and well liked / respected by nearly every other club I'll add my name to that list too Mr Shmoe!
