One I've not seen that I'd really appreciate if anyone could find is our 4-1 demolition of Forest when they were at the peak of their powers...can remember Ball and Boyer being close on unplayable that day...any clever searcher please, I don't have the skills!

everything that was wrong with english football is highlighted how he won a handful of caps for england.

an utter disgrace

only now (slowly) is the national mind set coming out of shunning players like him

England has a world class player that oozed utter technique and had absolutely no idea what to do with him, whilst stuart ripley and carlton palmer got loads of caps

They did know what to do with them, it involved shoe horning them into a 4-4-2 system. If they didn't work in it tough sh*t. Look at the shambles about Gerrard and Lampard not being able to play together but having to both play central midfield and resulting in Scholes, arguably the best of the three often shunted out to the left.

incredible. that generation with beckham, rio, cole etc should have been serious challengers.

instead, we went 4, 4, ******* 2

even this summer, whilst everyone is getting so excited with young vibrant players

roy will play it safe, Rooney will never be dropped if he has another stinker. it will be 4411, with milner right, sterling left with wilshere and 'stevie' in the middle with rooney doing what the feck he likes up front with 'stevie' spraying hollywood balls all over the park with around 30% success rate

and playing scholes left wing. Massive LOL

I like Milner, as a centre midfielder as he was at Villa, but not out wide. Is Hodgson really going to start him? Seems strange considering the options he has in chamberlain, Lallana and Stirling.

^^Barry Davies nails it.

"Don't tell me this man is not a class act. Huge international quality."

I could watch that goal all day.....I would love to see the reverse fixture at The Dell from 18th Jan 1997......another cracker from MLT with a last minute equaliser. Anyone have it?

Here's something I found on my old videos....a nice away win at Newcastle from 1997....enjoy!

Thanks for that.

First time I had been up there since the 1969-70 Fairs Cup when I was a nipper. A mate had just moved up there and we were staying in his flat, which was in Leazes Square 100 yds from the away section. We had a magnificent night celebrating the win and got back to see this at about 4am on video and we are in the crowd scene after the goal. Remember the local bints we took back weren't too impressed with the constant rewinding of that bit.

Haven't missed a match weekend up there since.

Remember the 2nd game and Spurs didn't really have a sniff all game.

I was at the FA cup game completely forgot that Tessam scored. Nice to see two sides putting out their strongest teams in the cup only three days after playing in the league how times have changed

These two really take me back. Although we eventually lost the replay, and I recall it being a very painful defeat, it's still worth watching the games if only for Glen's left foot half volley, which is absolutely sensational. What a goal. Keep an eye for the father and son celebrating in the home end;-)

Replay here.

And if we are talking of painful defeats the one away at Norwich is certainly one that sticks in my mind.

Part 2

I have to say the two red cards looked justified despite always thinking we were hard done by. Mind you the kick on le Tiss by Fleck isn't caught on camera. This was certainly when the FA cup meant something. Very memorable cup run with the Man U and Bolton wins.

First ever mid week away game for me. I recall saints fans were livid with the ref and some of the Norwich players, not to mention the Norwich fans taunted them. one saints fan climbed over the fence into the no mans land between the two sets of fans and attempted to climb into the home fans to take them all on. Crazy. Saints fans were kept in at the end and all he'll broke lose with a fight with police. I caught a policemans helmet that had been knocked off and thrown down into the fans.
