Bad Wolf Posted 21 May, 2014 Posted 21 May, 2014 Thought we could have a positive, non transfery thread so here goes.... Does anyone watch the Development teams regularly? Who do you think will be the next lads to break into the first team? What about the guys in the fringes of the first team such as Taggart and Reed. Are they ready yet? Josh Sims is the only one I've seen quite a bit of and he looks outstanding. Pace, touch and can pick a pass and trick his defenders. Thoughts on some of the other lads?
igsey Posted 21 May, 2014 Posted 21 May, 2014 This was written just after that 7-0 win: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2521833/After-Walcott-Bale-Lallana-Shaw-generation-Saints-players-making-themselves.html Sims is the one that seems to be making the biggest waves recently.
Toon Saint Posted 21 May, 2014 Posted 21 May, 2014 Quite impressed by that Josh Debayo whenever I've seen him play. He's an elegant player and really good at playing the ball out from defence. Reminds me a bit of a young Rio Ferdinand. Whether he'll reach that level, who knows? CB is one of the trickiest positions to break through into first-team - we've still got Turnbull and Stephens waiting in the wings, too.
The Cat Posted 21 May, 2014 Posted 21 May, 2014 I agree about Debayo. Niall Mason has a great range of passing in midfield. Hopefully next season the public will be able to see more of the academy teams at Staplewood once the building work has finished.
Mowgli Posted 21 May, 2014 Posted 21 May, 2014 Callum Slatterly the next big one apparently. Arsene Wenger says so.
Bad Wolf Posted 21 May, 2014 Author Posted 21 May, 2014 Ryan Seager, Sims, Targett. Seager is awesome on FM
sambosa75 Posted 21 May, 2014 Posted 21 May, 2014 Callum Slatterly the next big one apparently. Arsene Wenger says so. Decent player but some might say he's been over promoted by those close to him. I'd say my nephew but don't want to give his name out!
Mallagroth Posted 22 May, 2014 Posted 22 May, 2014 Omar Rowe has always looked good when I've seen him play, looks strong on the ball as well. Surprised we haven't seen him in first team squad call up yet.
